Rants/Raves: I had my glucose test today, and I'm 99% sure I failed. I had GD with my daughter and recently found my old glucose monitor. I brought it with me to my appointment and tested my blood sugar after the test. If the result I got was accurate, I failed. π’ Really really not looking forward to the 3 hour test and I don't even want to think about having GD again π

How are you feeling?: Just exhausted and sore today. I slept really weird on my shoulder. DH had croup over the weekend, feeling better but we're all just tired.
Rants/Raves: When we had to have our house reno'd after flood we didn't add basement to spec, in order to get our dream kitchen we moved costs elsewhere. Well, aside from hanging stuff up and adding upper cabinets for storage, it is finally done! We moved back in February 2020 so DH has been picking slowly away at walls, flooring, ceiling, and a little bar area. So excited to have that checked on the house project to-do list!

How are you feeling?: I've got a little back pain, but it's not too bad yet. Pretty sure Baby E is trying to escape Alien style by bursting through my stomach.
Rants/Raves: Rant - DS starts Kinder on Wednesday. We put in a transfer from our assigned school to the one that's actually walking distance and still haven't heard anything back. He starts in 2 days and I don't know what school he will be going to. I don't even know the start and end times because the websites for both schools and the district have 0 information.
@chindimples04, I've considered skipping the 3 hr test and just proceeding as if I have GD. It's definitely an option. I think I'll still do the 3 hr test though, as much as it sucks. Because 1. It's not super fun or convenient to have to plan to eat on schedule all the time or prick your finger 4 times a day, and 2. We spent about $1,800 last time between doing 16 NSTs and 2 additional scans (and that was with good insurance!!). So I probably will still do the 3 hr test on the off chance I can pass.

Rant: I had my joint baby shower yesterday with my SIL who is due a month after me and didnβt realize how many people would skip over my registry. I have a great variety on there price and item wise. Not really a rant I suppose. Im thankful for any gift. But just tried explaining to my hubby we may need to buy more of the practical things we need ourselves. Since most of the stuff we got was just like cutesy items aka outfits blankets etc. I need more storage in this room! π¬π¬ trying to work on that too.Β

Questions: 27 weeks is third trimester, right? I've also seen 28 weeks, but why would the first two trimesters have 14 weeks and the last have 12? Am I pregnancy braining again, or does this math not make sense?
@pizzaplz I count 1st trimester as 1-12 weeks, second trimester as 13-26 weeks, and third trimester as 27-40 weeks. Thatβs how my clinic sees it so itβs what I follow. π€·π»ββοΈΒ
@gingermama46 definitely a perk of working summer school. Itβs only 8-12 so I have my whole afternoon free.Β

@pizzaplz Hmm, most of the "what size is my baby" websites put 3rd trimester at 28 weeks, but you're right. Perhaps they're calculating on a possible 42-week pregnancy?

How are you feeling?: Tired, hot, and lumpy. Shockingly, it hasn't improved from last week π
Rants/Raves: Rant -- We had friends stay with us this weekend, and our power went out Saturday evening until about 2 am. My husband struggled with the generator, but it never ran steadily and shut off after about an hour. Luckily, it was night time after a thunderstorm, so it wasn't a million degrees. It is surprisingly hard to sleep in a dead silent and pitch black house, though. Rave -- Still riding the high from passing my 3-hr glucose test!
Questions: Since I had a scare with my blood sugar, I'm looking to cut carbs, especially added sugar and white starches. But without eating much of those, I'm falling short of what MyFitnessPal says my calorie needs are. Anyone have any go-to snacks that are high calorie but low carb (or at least low in added sugar)? I've got nuts, protein bars, cheese sticks, and single serve peanut butter containers so far.
