@knottieaffdaf07bc4ac858 I'm on the mobile app but I just select the picture icon over the comment box and then select the pic I want. Not sure what it's like on desktop though since I never use it...
I had my 20 week ultrasound last Friday, Good heart rate (153), everything measuring well, but OB called me today saying there was a bright spot detected on baby’s heart. He said this is very common and not to worry as my first screening came back low risk. BUTTTT I mean a new mom can’t help but worry…. Wondering if anyone else has had dealt with this? Appreciate any insight or experience on this.. Em
@mle_ I'm sorry you are having tobdeal with this added stress ❤ While I have no personal experience, this was actually quite common in my previous BMBs and in every case I can remember it resolved on its own. If your doctor isn't worried then I wouldn't be either. When DD1's 20 week scan showed a dilated kidney they reminded me over and over that technology is so so sensitive and powerful now that it picks up the smallest details that 20 years ago wouldn't have even been detected. I'm sure everything is just fine but I completely understand the stress!!!!!
@Panaceia thank you so much for this, knowing that it’s something you’ve heard of, and it is in fact common with a positive outcome is VERY comforting!
@mle_ while My first didn’t have one on his heart he did have one on his stomach/bowel area. We had a second repeat US at 24 for him and it showed the same echogenic spot. My OB talked with our high risk fetal medicine group and they said most of the time these things are normal, just technology is getting REALLY good at picking things up. Ours turned out to be nothing (though I like to say it’s the cause for him pooping 4 times a day when moms gagging changing diapers😆). While it’s understandable to worry about it, I’d try to just relax as much has you can until your next scan!
@nursejenn5 THANK TOU… I had never heard of such a thing… definitely feeling more at ease today.. your comments have helped 🙏 so happy your first is happy and healthy 💩
@mle_ we are in a similar situation with our babe. On our 20 week scan it showed a spot in his brain and that a kidney is dilated. I had a follow up appt this week and my OB is not at all worried, so that eases my mind. He thinks the radiologist who read the US was being overly cautious. I'm hoping he is right. He did want me to schedule a follow up scan, so another 4 weeks before we see our little guy again and hopefully its resolved itself by then. Positive thoughts for yours as well. It seems to be a common thing I guess, and maybe like everyone is saying, the technology is so sensitive now, every little thing shows up. Try not to stress yourself
@friends-fan thank you for sharing, totally agree with you, it is comforting knowing the OB is not worried. I’ll be thinking of you in 4 weeks time, please keep me posted!
We had a very rambunctious, and perfectly healthy looking baby BOY today at our anatomy scan! Which was a relief we had to have extra scans my first pregnancy. I so hope he and DS will just be the best of friends.
We had our anatomy scan at 21 + 4. The report says he's looking healthy, no causes for worry and he's developing as expected. I'm so relieved. I have to admit, I'm always super nervous before an US. He was really chill at first and let them get all of their measurements, but I guess he got a bit feisty and decided he'd been prodded enough. This was our best picture.
Headed into work for the day, but rescan went well, baby boy was very active, got some great pictures and look at his tiny foot! He's measuring about a week ahead, 85th percentile for his gestational age. We won't know scan results until my OB is able to look over them. I'm so in love with this little boy already 😍
@friends-fan awww what a cutie! These images are so clear! Definitely a benefit of having another scan is being able to take another peak! My rescan is scheduled for 22nd… keep us posted on your results.. so curious if anything will change.. thinking of you!!
@mle_ Thank you! Getting to see him again was definitely a plus of having another scan. Its amazing how much he has grown. My OB was closed yesterday, but they operate with no news is good news. I'm not expecting to hear from them. The US Tech wasn't really allowed to tell me anything, but I read the report online and due to baby size and/or position, the choroid plexus wasnt visible and the kidneys are still mildly dilated but nothing new and not any worse, possible anatomical variation. FX for your scan! I know how slow the time leading up to the rescan can be! Hopefully that all will be well with your little one as well.
@friends-fan Wow! What a great scan! Look at that foot, too! I'm glad that the rescan looked good. I felt really nervous when I had my AS because the US tech wasn't really supposed to tell us anything either, but I was super relieved when we received our report. My OB is also a no news is good news dr. So, when I didn't hear from her until our next appointment, I was pretty sure everything was normal. Your little buddy is so cute! I love his little button nose!
Happy Holidays March Mom’s - hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing holiday and staying safe.
wanted to share an update on my latest US, the good news, the bright spot on the heart was not mentioneD, everything is measuring well, 55th percentile… but they have found my amniotic fluid is low. I’m 27 weeks.
My OB has asked me to see him and go for a non-stress test (NST) weekly. i did both for the first time today. OB seems more concerned with the low fluid levels than nurses doing the NST. Their view is if there is movement and solid heart rate there is no concern.
I’m pretty stressed about having such low levels so early. Wondering if anyone else has any experience with low amniotic fluid levels so early in pregnancy?
@mle_ No experience here but just wanted to send support and hugs. It sounds like they are on top of it and hopefully baby will be able to stay in as long as possible ❤
We have one more growth scan coming up on the 26th at MFM, then our hospital offers an optional 3D scan anytime after 30 weeks that I need to set up. I'm more excited for that after seeing achanceintimes. So cute!
