Glucose testing

I had my first one hour glucose test and it was 134...they told me it needs to under 130! Ugh! Now I have to go back Thursday and do the 3 hour one 😢 everything I am reading online is saying it just needs to be under 140 so I am confused. Has this happened to anyone? This weekend when I did the one hour one I felt SO sick for 2 days and also I have been getting SO hungry the last few days. Like painfully hungry and feeling kind of shaky. Anyone had anything like this?

I had my glucose test done already since I had gestational diabetes with my 2nd child. I failed the one hour with 150. I was told it had to be under 140 so I’m surprised you were told you failed at 134. The 3 hour test sucks but hopefully you’ll pass since your number wasn’t that high to begin with. I definitely felt nauseous and shaky after both but I felt better once I could eat.

Sorry you have to do the 3 hour.  I don't even remember what my number was, or what the cut-off was for my first, all I know is I passed.  I also didn't have to do my glucose test until I was 24 weeks, I think.

I just found out I have to do my 1 hour test if I can before my appointment on Thursday. I am so nervous because I've already been nauseous this whole pregnancy. With my son last time I was never sick so I made it through the 1 hour and 3 hour tests. Passed the 3 hour, luckily! I almost passed out going out the door on that one because I was so hungry! I also don't think I did the 1 hour until 20 weeks last time, so I was surprised to have to do it already! Wish me luck! 😬

My OB’s cutoff is 130 as well. Realistically though just barley missing the cutoff still means you are very close to GD and should probably attempt to follow the diet for you and baby. It can also help you not end up in insulin while pregnant.

Im doing my one hour glucose test tomorrow- the 1 hour isn’t a fasting test so im protein loading before going in - I know that my obgyn makes the cut off 130 as a way to error on the side of caution! Glucose testing is the worst, good luck!
