What is you ultimate goal (it can be for pregnancy and beyond...or both:)?  I have a history of high blood pressure and want to keep it in check during/after pregnancy.  Exercise is the only thing that makes a noticeable difference (beyond medication).

What is your goal for the week?  3 spin classes this week!

Are there any obstacles to reaching your goal? technically no, my spin bike is at home and I have the Peloton app... in my mind, the obstacle is time.

How are you doing in terms of staying on track?  I've started doing classes again but need to be more consistent/on a schedule

Anything you want to celebrate this week?  I've been eating lots of fruits and veggies recently!

Anything else you want to share?

What is you ultimate goal (it can be for pregnancy and beyond...or both:)?

My ultimate beyond pregnancy goal is to be back to my pre preg weight before DD1.

My pregnancy goal is to keep working out every day throughout this pregnancy and to hopefully end the pregnancy at the same weight I ended it with DD1.

What is your goal for the week?

I work every morning before the girls get up, so my goal is to continue with that as well as to not give in to any junk food cravings and to keep eating healthy.

Are there any obstacles to reaching your goal?

Nothing other than myself. The nausea isn't bad enough to really affect me yet so I have no excuses.

How are you doing in terms of staying on track?

Really well! I haven't missed a day of working out since I started back up almost 9 months ago. It's more the food I want to keep an eye on. I gained 26lbs total in each of my pregnancies so I'm hoping to gain less this time around since I have a few extra lbs to spare that are still hanging around from my losses:/

Anything you want to celebrate this week?

So far I'm doing well with my food choices. I hope to keep that up!

Anything else you want to share?

    Nothing today:)

    Questions?

    Nope!

What is you ultimate goal (it can be for pregnancy and beyond...or both:)? To gain a healthy amount this pregnancy, I gained an obscene amount last pregnancy 😬 I did lose all but 5lbs but still, it was not good and my midwife yelled at me a ton 😂

What is your goal for the week? I’m not up to exercise since I’m not really eating, but I’d like to take evening walks

Anything else you want to share? That’s all I got, pretty small goal, so let’s hope I can stick to it

What is you ultimate goal (it can be for pregnancy and beyond...or both:)? Creating and maintaining a healthy relationship with my body that focuses on nourishment and strength, not the scale.

What is your goal for the week? Movement every day.

Are there any obstacles to reaching your goal? Just time, work, feeling tired

How are you doing in terms of staying on track? Pretty well! I close my rings on my Apple Watch most days and do a good job getting movement in every day.

Anything you want to celebrate this week?
I cleaned my office and put down a yoga mat so I’m excited to do some stretches and quick sun salutations during my work day.

Anything else?  I have a history of bulimia and disordered eating so my relationship with my body has often been fraught. That said, I tend to be very kind to myself in pregnancy and I try to really appreciate everything my body is doing to keep me and baby safe and healthy. Just need to maintain that gratitude and let it guide me in the days I feel like a whale.

@Panaceia Wow, that is quite the workout streak -- good job!

What is you ultimate goal (it can be for pregnancy and beyond...or both:)? Just to stay active. I did personal training all through my last pregnancy, but quit during the pandemic. I have barely worked out since then.

What is your goal for the week? Row 20 minutes a day

Are there any obstacles to reaching your goal? Laziness and that is has been over 100 degrees here. We usually hike at least one day a week but it is just impossible right now with the heat. It has been like this for a month  :'(

How are you doing in terms of staying on track? I got a Garmin watch for my bday, so that is helping keep me motivated.

Anything you want to celebrate this week? Not yet

Anything else you want to share? nope

    Questions? nope

@gembud With DD1 I was in a fitness in pregnancy study and all they had me do was wear a stepper and aim for 10000 steps a day. I was so sick that some days I literally only took 300 steps...total...for the entire day...but it helped to keep me feeling good!

@rachelredhead I have anorexia and really struggled through my last pregnancy. I wish the scale wasn't such a big part of my disorder. For me it's the only thing that keeps it in check and stops me from relapsing. I'm hoping that changes at some point in the future:/

@Panaceia eating disorders are the Wild West in pregnancy/postpartum. It makes complete sense that the scale is a tool for you to stay healthy right now.  Maybe someday I’ll be able to integrate the scale back into my body relationship but I’m overweight and at least thus far the scale has always had a moral value for me (either I’m “good” or “bad” depending on the number). It’d be nice to someday have a scale mindset that allowed me to weigh as a check in activity without it being this massive mental nightmare. That’s the goal, but not one I’ll prioritize in pregnancy.

@rachelredhead I completely get that. I feel the same way about numbers on the scale. My problem is that if I see a number I don't like I just stop eating completely...which is obvious not ideal in pregnancy for so many reasons...I tried to not weigh during my last pregnancy but it caused a pretty big relapse when I was weighed at an appointment with a different doctor (my doctor knew not to show me the numbers on the scale but the specialist didn't) so this time around the strategy is that I'm counting calories and weighing every day to avoid surprises and hopefully relapses. The trade off is that I have to eat 3 meals and 3 snacks a day. Or at least this was going to be the strategy with my January loss so I'm assuming it's what my doctor will suggest this time around too. I still haven't gotten rid of the weight from my first 2 losses so I have to keep reminding myself that I'm starting at a higher weight than with DD1 and have to be ok with the weight gain no matter what it is. Blah. You are so right about eating disorders being insanely hard during pregnancy!

What is your ultimate goal (it can be for pregnancy and beyond...or both:)?

To remain active throughout my pregnancy.

What is your goal for the week?

To workout for 30 minutes 5 times this week

Are there any obstacles to reaching your goal?

I normally run so the weather in CT is really getting in the way of that. Thunderstorms and rain all week =(

How are you doing in terms of staying on track?

I've been very tired and have a ton to do for work and the house we're renovating, so it's been hard to get myself working out, but I have hope for this week!

Anything you want to celebrate this week?

I went for a 2.5 mile run yesterday even though I really really didn't want to.

Anything else you want to share?

Just that my boobs are killing me lol I'd gladly take any really supportive sports bra reccomendations

    Questions?

    None!

What is you ultimate goal (it can be for pregnancy and beyond...or both:)?
To have a healthy pregnancy, and continue my weekly workout routine as usual (modifying as necessary).

What is your goal for the week?
To make it to the gym every morning (M-F) by 5:15am.

Are there any obstacles to reaching your goal?
The exhaustion is real and making it harder to get out of bed when my alarm goes off. Some mild nausea is also setting in.

How are you doing in terms of staying on track?
Pretty well. I've still made it to the gym every morning, despite not wanting to get out of bed. My eating habits could use some work though, I feel like I'm over doing it on the sweets lately.

Anything you want to celebrate this week?
I'm able to squat with weights again, since my bike accident. I'm finally getting more range of motion back in my knee.

@karisahamdi CT weather has been terrible this summer! I'm ready for some nice New England weather!

What is you ultimate goal (it can be for pregnancy and beyond...or both:)? Be active and eat well

What is your goal for the week? Go for a walk every day.

Are there any obstacles to reaching your goal? The weather has not been cooperating.

How are you doing in terms of staying on track? I did well last week, but the weather has not been fantastic. Hopefully my daughter and I can get outside early tomorrow.

@karisahamdi I use the front close sports bras for maximum support at Victroia's Secret.  They work great for me. I had larger boobs pre-pregnancy and now they are completely out of control lol

What is you ultimate goal (it can be for pregnancy and beyond...or both:)?
To only gain a healthy amount of weight during pregnancy.  My weight went up and down and then back up again during COVID.  I would like to get to a more consistent healthy weight after pregnancy.

What is your goal for the week?
To workout at crossfit or my home gym 4+ days

Are there any obstacles to reaching your goal?
Time.  The only time I can workout is evenings and then other things come up and I'll miss my chance.

How are you doing in terms of staying on track?
I've been pretty good about my diet since finding out I'm pregnant.  I think knowing that the nutrients are important for pregnancy and wanting to reduce my risk of gestational diabetes has really kept me on track.

Anything you want to celebrate this week?
    Nope

Anything else you want to share?
It is so hard not to tell people I workout with that I'm pregnant.  I feel like I'm working out differently and I feel like people around me notice.  A crossfit friend was trying to get me to sign up for a heavy lifting event in August.  I felt so bad just saying no without giving much explanation.

    Questions?
    None right now.

@Sarah0335 oh thank you!! that's exactly what's happening to me right now lol FX the front-close is the solution to my big boob problems

My appetite is super low and I can’t eat much at once. What are your favorite QUICK and nutritious snacks to nosh on throughout the day when you can’t eat full meals?
I’m a psychologist and with patients all day so I have to find stuff quick in between sessions (no breaks in the day usually except for an hour lunch break)

@runnergirl2018 I do a lot of crackers with cheese or peanut butter. I don’t like sweets right now but give me all the salty stuff so cut up veggies with hummus or egg/chicken salad are common. Smoothies can be a good option if you have a good blender. I did that a lot in my last pregnancy with spinach, protein powder, almond milk, frozen fruit, some nut butter, etc.

@rachelredhead thank you! The cracker and cheese idea is great because I can eat a few quick. Veggies and hummus I feel like isn’t fast enough but I can keep some in my office in case! I’ve been doing a smoothie for breakfast. Even just a scoop of almond butter would probably help! 🤣

What is you ultimate goal (it can be for pregnancy and beyond...or both:)?  To make healthy food and physical activity choices during this pregnancy, and postpartum.  To limit weight gain to an appropriate amount.

I’m currently about 10 lbs less than I was when I delivered my daughter.  I had lost most of the weight, then my PCOS symptoms began to flare and I haven’t maintained the motivation consistently to manage my PCOS and weight.

What is your goal for the week? Keep track to make sure I’m eating throughout the day (I’m a meal skipper), reach my Fitbit steps each day, and fit in some fun physical activity with my daughter after work and on weekends.

Are there any obstacles to reaching your goal? Time.  It’s only my daughter and myself most of the time, and by the time I get home from work with her, I’m so tired. We run a small business, and I do the bookwork in the evenings.  Mornings seem to be the best time to work out - I just need to get to bed at a decent time!

I also have epilepsy, and lack of sleep is my biggest trigger.  I’m nervous for the newborn months!

How are you doing in terms of staying on track?

So far, so good.  When I track what I eat, I tend to eat more consistently, and I’ve been hitting my step goal each day.

Anything you want to celebrate this week? Making it to 6 weeks pregnant - yay!
