@lilpotatomama we're not telling DHs family until later when we feel more comfortable letting everyone know (his mother doesn't keep a secret well).  I've already told my mom, there was no way I could keep it from her.  ** Edited to tag

Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days:  somewhere mid March, 3w5d if you go by LMP, but I'm 14dpo

    Upcoming appointments: 7/20

How are you feeling?: mostly tired which is pretty normal so I'm not sure if it's a symptom of pregnancy or a symptom of life

Rants/Raves:  when I called to make my appt this morning the scheduler didn't ask any questions at all... not even when my last period was.  I'm not sure there's any reason to have an appointment at what will be 5/6 weeks?  My other 2 were at 8/9 weeks, although I've moved and have a different provider now.

    Questions: nothing right now

GTKY: What is special about the place you grew up?  It has an awesome veterinary school that opens to the public one day a year and they do all kids of activities for kids, like milking cows, meeting animals, observing surgeries, and tours

Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 3/5 (for now, I think it’s later than that), 5w3

Upcoming appointments: July 21 with the midwife

How are you feeling?: sooooo tired, but also having a rough time sleeping. I almost felt like I was going to throw up on the peloton this morning. Thankfully didn’t happen but note to self, no exercise after breakfast anymore.

Rants/Raves: I’m normally not a cereal person but 5 of my last 6 meals have been cereal. So I guess I’m raving about Rice Krispies today!

Questions: anybody starting unisom+b6 yet? I’m thinking of starting it at night to help with the queasiness. I took it all through my last pregnancy so I’m hoping it helps this time.

GTKY: What is special about the place you grew up? I grew up in Arkansas until I was 10 and then moved to St. Louis and lived there until college. Both places are dear to me, I’d probably say Arkansas for its natural beauty and hospitality, and St. Louis for being the best baseball town and having the best pizza. 😊

@lilpotatomama it’s so hard to keep the secret. We told our parents but we won’t tell siblings until later. And I told my best friend. I have had losses in the past so my thought is that I need certain people to know because they’re the folks I’d lean on no matter what happens. But it’s so hard to keep quiet!

@jlbaker08 what a cool school! I would have loved that as a kid. Heck, I’d love it now.

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 3/9, 4+6 (for now, I suspect I am further along than that)

Upcoming appointments: 7/21 Just moved it up from August 5th.  I leave for Spain on a work trip 7/25 and I wanted my appointment before to make sure things were good before leaving the country for  a week.

How are you feeling?:  Good.  Just some consistent cramping, but energy levels are good.

Rants/Raves: We told my MIL because we spend 2+ days/week with her and know she would have noticed with not drinking and things.  She was really excited.  So excited she told my SIL.  I'm so angry and disappointed.  We were really looking forward to telling her ourselves when we were further along and in person.  It has changed my overall trust level with my MIL.

    Questions:

GTKY: What is special about the place you grew up? Lived in suburbs of Boston my entire life.  Nothing in particular that comes to mind as being special, but I love the area in general!

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days:
    March 5/5 + 3
    Upcoming appointments:
July 28 for first ultrasound and OB visit
    How are you feeling?:
Good, mostly. More tired than usual, but I think I'm finally a little less grumpy.
    Rants/Raves:
Rant: my knee is still sore from my bike accident a couple weeks ago. It's definitely getting better, but I still can't bend it all the way (putting on gym shoes has been interesting).
Rave: DH took the older two out for a couple hours yesterday while DS2 napped. I could have used that time for more productive things... but instead I sat and watched The Handmaid's Tale until they got home. It was nice.
    Questions:
    None
GTKY: What is special about the place you grew up?
It's a really small town (under 700 people), but they throw the best 4th of July celebration every year. I loved going back for that over the weekend.

  • @rachelredhead I think I ate 2 bowls (or more) of Lucky Charms a day my first pregnancy. Cereal was the best thing ever.

@Sarah0335 I'm sorry your MIL did that. :( That would upset me too.

    image
  • @smoresdoeuvres what did you think of Handmaid’s Tale? That’s what I watched on the 4th while DH was shooting off fireworks with his family (DS goes to bed at 7 so his first 4th was pretty lame). Seemed kinda ironic to watch a show based on a dystopian America on the 4th but…whatevs. 🤷‍♀️
  • @jlbaker08 I'm pretty sure I'm gonna cave and tell my mom. But we really want to do a big surprise for my dad, and my mom is a terrible liar so I don't know how this is going to go! I don't care when DH's family finds out, I already know my little SIL is going to be a brat about my due date being so close to her son's first birthday.

@rachelredhead It really is so hard! We publicly announced at 8 weeks last time and I really regret it, because people were super annoying ("you've been pregnant forever!!!") so I think this is for the best.

@kgg2241 thank you! I'm just a big potato fan... sadly they're so unappetizing right now  :(

  • @rachelredhead It's very interesting, but some of it is hard to watch. I'm hooked though. I'm currently on Season 3.

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days:
    3/6 5+3

    Upcoming appointments:

    July 29

    How are you feeling?:

The nausea is back, so that’s great. I’m also really tired, but I’m not sure if that is from the week of nights I just did or pregnancy.

    Rants/Raves:

Raves: I would like to thank watermelon for existing. It is the only thing that doesn’t make me queasy, and I can eat as much as I want.

Also, this Moxy stick my husband found that helps with the sinus congestion. It’s magical. I’ll post a pic at some point.

Rants: we are in the process of moving into a new house. I hate moving.

Questions: Why does my cat try to climb the curtains? For real, why? He needs to stop. Add this to rants. But no questions about pregnancy.

GTKY: What is special about the place you grew up?

I lived in a tiny little rural area, but the whole downtown is a national historic landmark. It’s really charming. I definitely didn’t appreciate it when I was younger, but it’s a lovely little area.

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: March 10. / 4+6

    Upcoming appointments:

Nothing yet. We moved across the city since my last and I would prefer to find an OB closer to our home. In the process of reaching out to a few clinics and hoping I can get seen somewhere.

    How are you feeling?:

Overall pretty good but I am tired and I already have to pee more. Trying to keep up my exercise routine this time around too

    Rants/Raves:

I am already feeling nervous about breaking the news to my work. My senior manager made a comment Monday morning at a team meeting that she would cry if anyone on the team became pregnant. I know she was (partly joking) but comments like that suck to hear, and not to mention are inappropriate IMO.

    Questions

GTKY: What is special about the place you grew up?

I moved a lot growing up so this one is tough.

  • @geminigirl16 aw that's a crappy comment to make. Definitely inappropriate. I'm sure she will feel horrible when she finds out you are expecting but still.

@iseewholewheat16 I am loving watermelon right now too! And I'll need to look up whatever this moxy stick is. I am so congested and miserable.

@smoresdoeuvres that's nice you got some alone time! The Handmaid's Tail was one of my favorites but I had to stop watching because it made me so anxious.

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: March 5th and 5w4d

Upcoming appointments: I have my first ultrasound Monday July 12th.

How are you feeling?: I keep flip flopping between completely anxious and nervous and not believing that this is finally happening to so excited and happy and accomplished. We tried for so long to get pregnant. It feels too good to be true that it's finally happening.

Rants/Raves: I was having some symptoms at 4 weeks. Some nauseous feelings and food aversions. Now at 5 weeks I feel basically normal. I'm having some cramping (hoping from the progesterone I'm taking) and tired earlier at night. Overall I feel totally normal though, which stresses me out!

Questions: Is anyone else not having any major symptoms yet?

GTKY: What is special about the place you grew up? I live in a suburb but it's huge. My graduating class had 1,000 people in it. It feels like a big city and also a suburb all in one.

@rachelredhead I'm taking diclegis which is a prescription form of unisom and b6! It's too early to tell if it's fully helping or not. But last week I was feeling pretty nauseous and this week I'm not. So hopefully it's from the medicine and I'll continue to feel okay!

@Sarah0335 I'm so sorry your MIL did that! That's so awful.

  • @lilpotatomama it sucks that your SIL would rain on your parade about something so silly... I have one that I think is like that, I guess I'll find out when we make our announcement.  She's the kind of person who likes to be the center of attention but doesn't really have any qualities worth paying attention to.

@iseewholewheat16 no cats here, but my assessment of the situation is that your cat must have seen another cat on TV do it and thought it was what the cool cats do

@avh333 no major symptoms here yet... some boob soreness that's subsided a little today and freaking me out, intermittent waves of what I might consider indigestion, constipation, twinges, and my joints feel loose

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: March 16 - 4w0d

Upcoming appointments: First appointment is currently scheduled for July 28 -- which I think will wind up being on the early side, but since I didn't ovulate until pretty late in my cycle they are scheduling based on LMP.

How are you feeling?: Overall, pretty good! Had some abdominal pressure early in the week but that seems to be subsiding. It's definitely starting to feel a little bit more real and exciting.

Rants/Raves: My sister got engaged today, which is super exciting!! DH and I were planning on telling our parents about the pregnancy this weekend but now think we'll wait another week or so to let my sister and her fiancee have their time in the spotlight.

    Questions: none at the moment!

GTKY: What is special about the place you grew up? It's the hometown of the inventor of the cotton gin! Other than that, it's a perfectly lovely sleepy suburb and was a wonderful place to grow up.

@geminigirl16 I'm so sorry about that comment that your boss made and agree, definitely inappropriate. I'm nervous about telling work as well -- I got hired for a new position in my organization last month which I am super excited about, but I don't start in that role for another few months so it's going to be interesting to have to tell my new manager that I'll be going on leave so soon after starting!

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days:

    March 10th/4w6d

    Upcoming appointments:

Jul 28th. Was on hold for 40+mins today to get it moved up from Aug 9th.

    How are you feeling?:

Physically feeling good so far, aside from the expected early pregnancy symptoms-which are reassuring. Emotionally I’m trying hard to take this one day at a time and not be weighed down by the anxiety of PGAL.

    Rants/Raves:

Have been loving Marvel’s Loki series on Disney+. My husband has turned me into the biggest nerd. Can’t wait to see what they do in the final episode.

    Questions:

Anyone have experience with higher than normal hcg betas?

    At 4w0d I was at 841

    Yesterday at 4w5d I was at 9,100+

Thinking my date could be off, although I think that’s unlikely. Multiples? Potential complications? Trying not to google too much. Probably just a totally normal fluke. OB said “everything is progressing well.”

GTKY: What is special about the place you grew up?

I can’t think of a single thing. Little quiet suburb.

  • @kgg2241 I daydream of owning a large Ranch with dairy cows, steer, pigs, chickens…all the animals. A dairy farm sounds like the perfect backdrop for childhood. FX there is no reason you’ll have to be disappointed in your mom’s reaction to a loss again, but I 100% get it. My relationship with my mom is complicated. With my first we didnt tell her until 14weeks, she doesnt know about our loss, and we are holding off on disclosing this one a while longer. DHs family knows.

@Sarah0335 what was your MIL thinking? I would be so pissed. Have you said anything to her about it?

@avh333 I think if you are consistently taking diclegis then not having any nausea makes sense. I’m not explicitly nauseated yet. Just sore achy boobs and increased urination so far. Trying to remind myself that with my first pregnancy I wasnt consistently nauseated until week 6/7.

  • @night_nurse No experience with the high betas other than that sounds super sticky!!! Also we are loving Loki too! We just watched it last night and now I can’t wait for the finale. I also loved WandaVision and might go back and watch it again when Loki is over!

Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days:  based on ET, March 12, 4w+5

Upcoming appointments: Bloodwork on Monday the 12th to check beta, estrogen and progesterone. Ultrasound between 6-7 weeks but the nurse at my RE’s office won’t schedule it until that bw comes back.

How are you feeling?: tired with waves of nausea if I’m too hungry or too full. Got a good migraine today, and slept it off because all I can take is Tylenol. Not sure of the cause, maybe the crazy thunderstorms we got last night. But my PGAL brain worries that it’s because hormones are dropping. But I have no bleeding and minimal cramping so I know I shouldn’t be worried.

Rants/Raves: rant: my job has been super crazy and I’m thinking about reducing my schedule after going through ivf and just wanting to spend more time at home.

Questions:  no questions, just trying to take it one step at a time until that first ultrasound.

GTKY: What is special about the place you grew up? I grew up on the beach in Rhode Island, in the cutest little peaceful quiet town. My parents still live in the same house and I love it there! Everything is better at the beach!

  • @quiltandknit Your hometown sounds like a dream. So lovely. GL with your upcoming bloodwork. FX.

@night_nurse It is nice to hear from someone who also has a complicated relationship with their mom. I'm sorry you are in that boat too. It is so hard and most people just can't related. I don't have experience with high HCG levels, but it seems like it is probably totally normal.

@trails55 how exciting for your sister! That is very nice of you to let her have her time to shine too.

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days:
3/23 (going by O date) so I'm 3+2 today (O always get my bfps by 9dpo...which makes first tri feel like it takes FOREVER)

    Upcoming appointments:

Nothing yet. I'll call my doctor at some point this week maybe. I have a complicated relationship with pregnancy so I don't mind waiting for a later first appointment.

How are you feeling?: Physically just nausea and sore boobs. I had a killer migraine yesterday that is STILL  hanging on today but other than that nothing. Emotionally I am super stressed. Based on my history I'm sure I will spend every day waiting for the other shoe to drop...

    Rants/Raves:

Like a few of you we are not telling anyone. We sort of never do which I'm glad about because then I don't have to talk about it with anyone when things go wrong. But my line today was surprisingly dark for 9dpo...so I'm hoping this one gets to come home with me in my arms.

    Questions:

Is anyone still taking tests? When did you stop? I have 3 FRER left but I feel like testing might be more stressful than not testing at this point...

GTKY: What is special about the place you grew up? I grew up in a village inside of a big city. Totally self contained. Elementary school, middle school, high school, university, hospital, movie theater, parks, walking trails, restaurants, you name it, everything within just a few blocks. I loved it...which is why we live here with our girls now. The city itself is also the waterfall capital of Canada:)

  • @Panaceia I took another test last night. My previous positives were using FRER or a digital so I took a cheapie since usually it takes me longer to turn those. It was a dark line almost immediately so that felt good and I have zero guilt wasting a Wondfo. I’m not tempted to test more at this point, I know it’ll just make me go to crazyland comparing darkness of lines, etc. Deep breaths.

@rachelredhead I did 2 Wondfos and a FRER today. I know you're totally right. I need to step away from the tests because I know it will make me crazy...but I have a feeling I'm going to end up using every test in the house:/

ETA I could already see progress on the Wondfos from early morning to early afternoon...so you would think that would help ease my mind. But no.
  • @night_nurse and @kgg2241 + 1 to a complicated relationship with their mother. She and my father live far and we have not seen them since before the pandemic started and she is pushing hard to come visit in the next couple weeks. I prefer to keep my pregnancy quiet until after first tri as I had a missed miscarriage between my kids that was discovered at week 12. So let’s just say, I am not keen on company at the moment and she’s pretty not happy about it.
  • @Panaceia I am! Mainly because the box of Wondfos expire this month, but I also like watching lines get darker over time. Only a couple left, then I'll stop.
    image
  • @smoresdoeuvres with DD#2 I tested daily until my first us at 7weeks...and then again before every appointment until my NIPT results came back 😅
