Smoke inhalation

So last night we went to a friends house for the fireworks. Didn’t realize we’d have to be outside the whole time. They had their grill going so a lot of smoke drifted to where we had to sit and then they did fireworks and the kids had sparklers everywhere. The smoke was literally everywhere around me and I had no choice but to breathe it in. For 4 hours. Like 2 hours after we got home my chest from my asthma was so heavy and still feels like it’s on fire right now. I’m mostly worried about smoke inhalation because of my baby. I’m 12 weeks. Can that have hurt my baby? It was a lot of smoke.

Re: Smoke inhalation

  • I had this thought too, as I tried to shield myself away from the smoke, but my guess is you’re probably fine. Just like a small glass of wine once or twice a pregnancy would probably not have any effect. I don’t know a lot about asthma, but I’m guessing the feeling in your lungs is so pronounced because of that, and is therefore affecting you a lot more than it would the baby, even though what you’re feeling may lead you to think otherwise. Not an expert at all re: health stuff, but that’s my opinion about it. I’d try to relax and not worry, but if it would make you feel better, put a call into your doctor or nurse’s line so they can reassure you.
