Re: Monday BF 6/28

  • My B*tch is that my 6 year old was being a complete PITA today at the zoo. He asked to get lunch there, for some reason he thinks it's amazing.  He knows the line is long and that we always to have to wait awhile - like 20-30 minutes for a hot dog and fries.  Today he told me in a very whiny voice every 5 seconds that he was hot and sweaty.  When I finally broke and asked him what he wanted me to do about it, he told me nothing - he just wanted to tell me.  :#  He then insisted that we could go to the pick up window to order, cutting the 3 groups ahead of us.  I tried to explain that no we couldn't - and he continued to insist that I was wrong.

Then, he *wished* out loud that he had a towel to wipe off all his sweat.  I went to get him a paper napkin. When I gave it to him, he told he that was just "wishing" for one and didn't actually need or want one.  He also followed me out of line to get the paper napkin.  When we got back to our spot, he then insisted over and over again that we had cut someone in line.  I told him that we didn't.  He continued to say it.  I politely asked the people behind us if we had.  They said that no we did not. My darling son decided to continue telling me that he THOUGHT we had cut them in line.  I told him again that we didn't and to knock it off and drop it. Cue the tears.

UGH. Remind me to NEVER get lunch at the zoo again.  (P.S. in previous years it's never been this bad of a wait, but this year they are extremely short-staffed and out of almost everything, and apparently other people can't read signs or a menu, so they are constantly ordering things they don't have so it takes even a lot longer)

  • @magalina_h - oh my gosh!  That sounds so frustrating.  But sounds like you were patient as could be.  The lines are insane everywhere now like you said and I imagine with a child it’s even worse.

My BF is I went to get my NIPT blood draw today and waited in line 45 minutes at the lab to be told I was too late.  I was there at 3:30 and she informed me that bc FedEx comes at 2:30 I have to be there before that.  Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things; I’ll just go early tomorrow.  But I was also so annoyed bc the lady behind me was super impatient at the long line at the lab and kept doing the exaggerated loud sigh thing to make sure everyone new she was frustrated.  I was so tempted to ask her if she thought that helped the line move faster.
  • @karenmarie9 I am frustrated for you! I would not have been happy! They seriously couldn't draw your blood today and then ship it out tomorrow? I don't understand that. Also it would have been nice if they'd told you the time cut off ahead of time. How annoying. I'm sorry you have to go back!

  • @magalina_h - my thoughts exactly!  And the even more frustrating part is it’s being fedexed to San Francisco! Which is literally only a 15 minute drive from the hospital lab I was at.  Argh!! I wish I could just drop it off myself lol.

Ughhhhhh I’m annoyed for both of you!

My BF is that DH who is semi-handy, not very, thought he could fix our closet door which has completely come off its hinges. The door falls on his foot, which left a nice bruise and now he’s complaining it hurts to put weight on it and keeps saying it’s broken (I doubt it is since he can move it and walk around on it).

However, he refuses to ice it or take Advil, and begrudgingly elevated it after I nagged him. I don’t want to hear how it hurts if he’s not willing to do basic care on it. *shrugs*

He also refuses to acknowledge that he needs an X-Ray before any doctor would prescribe treatment. Why are men such terrible patients?

  • @magalina_h Oh man, been there. It's so hard with kids and the constant nagging. My patience gets really thin sometimes, like, dude, just trust me!

@karenmarie9 ugh, that's so frustrating. And people like that drive me crazy. Good on you for having the self-control to not say something! It would've been going through my mind, too.

Mine is kinda like @magalina_h's with irrational kids. My 4 year old is all of a sudden super paranoid about cleaners. He came home from school yesterday saying he was worried he was going to get sick because he touched some toys that his teachers sprayed cleaner on. I tried to explain that, just like at home, his teachers would not use cleaner around you that would hurt you. Cue to this morning. He was panicked that I had sprayed cleaner on everything he was touching: "Did you spray my crayons? Did you spray my banana?" After, no joke, 45 minutes of discussion with me and my husband, he seemed ok, but still, as we got in the car: "Is my carseat wet? Did you spray my carseat?" UGH. Anyway. I got to school and asked about the teachers, thinking that yeah, they were disinfecting stuff and told him not to touch things until they dried. No. They were spraying WATER. He cooked up the whole cleaners and sickness thing on his own. Sometimes I have ok patience, but DUDE. JUST TRUST THAT I DON'T WANT TO MAKE YOU SICK WITH CLEANER.
