How are you feeling?: Starting to feel. . . better?!? I am hesitant to say that I am feeling better bc this feeling is so new, but my aversions seem to be starting to subside and I am tired but not like I was a few weeks ago. Emotionally feeling better too as I get further along in this pregnancy.
Rants/Raves: Rave! Our bar is open again! Wheeeee! This week was absolute chaos but we made it through and it's been crazy and busy. Rant! The bar is open which means I haven't seen my partner in days, he's been working the line and door at the club and he doesn't get home until I am about to wake up 😭I have been manning the house and children while he has been at the bar and it blows. It's such a sudden adjustment back to pre-COVID times which has some good (work, income, people!) and some bad (too much work, less family time). I hope today we are able to spend some time together as a family.
Questions: Compression socks? I usually wear them while I work and when I fly and have a bunch of both coming up. Mine are on their last legs and I want to get some new ones. Does anyone have a brand they like? I did a google search and was overwhelmed with options lol. Bonus points if they aren't geriatric-looking lol.
GTKY: What was your favorite activity as a 10-year-old? I was really into hiking/backpacking/camping/etc. I think a lot of that came from Girl Scouts which I also really loved. I have a lot of great memories of my father taking me camping/fishing/hiking/backpacking. I feel like at 10 there were so many things I was interested in and curious about - right before I turned into a nightmare pre-teen lol.
@bkjade woohoo for the bar being open again! I love that things are getting back to “normal.” I hope you can squeeze in some family time though! i wear compression stockings a lot but always just get the cheap ones from the drug store 😬
@PYLWhammy - Those are the kind I have too! I am maybe optimistically hopeful that if I invest in a nice pair they’ll last me longer. Mine tend to get runs in them
I need compression socks! We have no air conditioning in the new house though so the idea of wearing socks in this heat is not fun.
How far along are you?: 16w5d
Upcoming appointments: phone appointment at 17 weeks with my new Midwives. I will really miss my old ones in Ontario.
How are you feeling?: Good. We arrived in Nova Scotia. The plane ride was an ordeal. DS almost didn't pass the temperature check. His read 99 degrees so I quick put him into shorts and t-shirt and made him drink some water and then he passed. My heart was racing! He was just too hot in his PJ'S. I've been super diligent checking his temp since then and *knock on wood* he is normal.
Rants/Raves: Rave! We are here with DH in our new house. RANT! The previous owners where disgusting and my cleaning ladies didn't show up before we arrived so I am unpacking while cleaning, with no air conditioning and pregnant. Also the movers broke a piece off our dining room hutch. It's can be easily fixed but still annoying. I'm nervous they broke something else. 😬 Finally I'm trying to not be scared about the babe. I still haven't felt any movement...although last night I may have? It's so hard to tell.
Questions: Has anyone had to quarantine before? How do you tell your 2 year we can't go to the park. I'm running out of excuses. We are only on day 3 here.
GTKY: What was your favorite activity as a 10-year-old? LOL probably signing and pretending I was a witch that could control the weather. I was really cool. 🤓
Upcoming appointments: 16 week appt later this week
How are you feeling?: I’m okay, still really tired and randomly have RLP (but that seems to be less?). I think I going to wait until after my 20 week anatomy scan to publicly announce. I should probably tell my work before then though 🙈
Rants/Raves: My fridge was finally delivered! It seems to be working properly, fingers crossed!
Questions: none
GTKY: What was your favorite activity as a 10-year-old? Hmm… probably playing outside, climbing trees, and riding bikes! Haha. Although a year or so after this I spent more time playing music and hanging out with my friends doing more girly things hahaha
I’ll come back later for tags, getting ready for work this morning! ☺️
Upcoming appointments: Virtual check in on Thursday.
How are you feeling?: Pretty good besides a few nights of restless legs which I contribute to arthritis in my back. 😫
Rants/Raves: Finally announced on social media last night. I was thinking about waiting till we knew gender but just couldn't wait. 🤣 Now it will seem like forever until my ultrasound. 😫
Questions:
GTKY: What was your favorite activity as a 10-year-old? Riding bike with the neighborhood kids I'm sure. Sleepovers with friends.
@kaitcrystalline - when COVID first shut things down here in NYC my youngest was 3 and we didn’t leave our apartment for about 3 months 😳 it was difficult to help her understand why we weren’t allowed to do anything without scaring her, but I think she understood the basic idea that it “was to keep everyone healthy”. We did a lot of “rainy day” activities, building forts, art projects, yoga, movies, baking, dance parties. I think we weirdly made a lot of good memories during the time since it forced us to try things that weren’t in our normal routine and be with each other lol.
@rpreston17 aww yay exciting! I feel like it’s going to be forever until mine too. We already know, but I haven’t seen my peanut since 8 weeks. I thought about going to one of those private pay places but now that I’m only four weeks away I might wait and do it early in the third trimester for some cute 3d pictures
@kaitcrystalline ugh that sounds stressful! Glad you guys made it though! I haven’t felt any clear movement either, although I’ve been convinced several times of very faint flutters, but it could’ve been gas I suppose 🙈
@bkjade congrats on the bar opening! I hope you guys adjust quickly and find your new groove with that! I know change is hard, but this sounds exciting!
Upcoming appointments: Thursday, 6/24 aka DH's birthday. I'm excited it's worked out that he gets to hear LO on his birthday!
How are you feeling?: Ok-ish? Constipation is winning and sleep is a little hit or miss due to elevated body temperature, but overall I can tell a noticeable energy different from 1st tri!
Rants/Raves: Using my home doppler still hasn't been successful, but I haven't given up hope! In other news, the flutters have started. I was a little surprised, but being my 3rd pregnancy, I've read that this can happen earlier.
Questions: Notta!
GTKY: What was your favorite activity as a 10-year-old? Definitely riding my bike with neighborhood kids! I thought I was a real big deal because I could right to a friends house that was like 7 blocks away, lol.
@bkjade Glad to hear you're feeling better! That's awesome that the bar is open but sorry you aren't able to have that time together. I like the Comrad brand compression socks and love them!
@kaitcrystalline So happy you are all back together! That sounds super stressful at the airport but happy you were able to get through! Sorry about the place not being cleaned and the hutch! FX that you feel movement soon .
@rgn12 Telling work is so tough! Good luck when you do break the news! And YAY on the fridge!!!
@PYLWhammy We are going through a rough stage with our little one too. Sending all the love, patience, and everything else!
How far along are you?: 14 weeks today!
Upcoming appointments: July 7th.
How are you feeling?: Same, still feeling nauseated and all that jazz!
Rants/Raves: I told my work today that I was pregnant (again). I had my first in February of 2020 so I was super nervous that my team would quit since it was so stressful last time because Covid hit while I was on leave. They all seemed happy so I feel relieved!
Questions: Nope!
GTKY: What was your favorite activity as a 10-year-old? Doing flips anywhere I could LOL.
@bkjade- wow you own a bar?! that is cool, but I am sure the schedule is soo hard for you guys!
@kaitcrystalline- o my, 99 is considered too high?! that is not even high! I am so glad you made it. But ughhh to cleaning a hot house while pregnant!!
How far along are you?: 15+5 today
Upcoming appointments : I had one today. I have been brown spotting since my major bleed 2.5 weeks ago, so thats been stressful. My OB was so great and did the portable ultrasound in the room so we could take a look. My biggest worry has been that placenta is detaching or not attaching right (because they said the placenta causes the bleed/SCH). so far it looks ok, but its kind of just wait and see and hope for no new red bleeding and that baby and placenta keeps growing. My Anatomy scan is in 4 weeks, but they are having me come back in 2 weeks if i want (i can cancel if the spotting fully stops). My scan today still showed an SCH, so I think the spotting will continue.
How are you feeling?: Still very anxious. Everytime I go to the bathroom I am terrified to see red. I am just praying the spotting stops and my anatomy scan shows no more SCH and that baby and placenta looks good.
Rants/Raves: I know there is nothing i can do really about the spotting, but it does seem more the more i move. yet its impossible to lay around all the time with a toddler. I just want to enjoy the summer fully and really embrace this pregnancy since its likely my last. I feel still too afraid to get too attached.
Questions: is anyone else doing a blood test for neural tube defect screening around 16 weeks? My OB offered it, but i think the false positive rate can be high based on memory. I have enough stress right now, so I declined. if somehow there is an issue its almost always seen on the Anatomy scan anyways...
GTKY: What was your favorite activity as a 10-year-old? Hmm i am guessing it was probably going swimming!!

@JamieH2000 I am sorry about the spotting and your (understandable) anxiety. But good that you have such a supportive OB and that things are looking good on the ultrasound.
@bkjade That's so exciting! Congratulations on the business opening!!
@kaitcrystalline I'm so sorry you're having such a difficult move. I believe down to my core that difficult times lead to the wonderful ones. So while this move has proven challenging, once y'all are settled the fruit of your labor will be so sweet. You got this, momma!!
@rgn12 I'm sorry RLP is creeping up on you!! I love that you still have this secret you're keeping to yourself. I don't regret announcing already because I would've let it slip or something, but we held onto our name for a few weeks after deciding and it felt very intimate.
@bkjade glad you were able to open the bar! It seems like your schedules are chaotic right now with reopening, but hopefully soon you and your partner get some time together again. I also loved some of those outdoorsy activities as a kid.
@kaitcrystalline yay for being with your husband! How great it must feel to finally be all together again. I pretended to be a witch, too! I made potions, mummified worms, and ground up dried acorns to keep myself busy for hours lol
@rgn12 thank goodness your fridge is delivered and functional!
@JamieH2000 I am sorry you are still experiencing spotting and anxiety. I totally get it because I'm in the same boat. It's not constant, but every once in a while it shows up and I freak out all over again. I completely understand not wanting to get attached to protect yourself I hope that it stops soon, the subchorionic hemorrhage resolves, and you are able to enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. Hugs!
How far along are you?: 15 +5
Upcoming appointments: Just had one today, next isn't until July 14. Then anatomy scan July 26th. I am having such a hard time keeping myself from finding out the sex. I almost gave in today at my appointment and asked, but I stopped myself.
How are you feeling?: My appetite came back, and i gained 7 pounds overnight after eating like 1 normal meal. My metabolism is the worst ever. Otherwise, feeling mostly better. Less nausea but it still comes on randomly. Less tired, so trying to.get things done like cleaning out closets trying to make room for baby in our tiny house! But after I do a project, I am usually done for the day and lazy mom it from the couch the rest of the day.
Rants/Raves: Rave: My hubby called out of work today and my MIL came over, so I had free time from my daughter. I had my OB appointment, and then after, 3 hours of free time. I ended up sitting in peace and quiet in my air conditioned car for a bit, then got my first real non-diy haircut in 3+ years. It was so nice to have nothing to do or worry about!
Questions: What is up with compression socks? I see so many of you talking about them but have no idea why or if I should be considering them? Last pregnancy I didn't, and my OB has never mentioned it.
GTKY: What was your favorite activity as a 10-year-old? Playing outside, pretending I was a witch or Native American, digging holes, camping, climbing trees, and riding bikes.
How are you feeling?: a little less nauseas and tired. I am hoping to start exercising as the last 7 weeks I’ve been so tired and queesy I haven’t been able to!
Rants/Raves: Rave- we told my family this week while on vacation for my grandmothers 79 birthday! It was so special! We gave her a “lotto ticket scratch off” with a prize “we are having a baby!” I got it from Etsy such a fun way to share the news!
Rant- we haven’t been able to get my DH family over for dinner yet 😅 they have been too busy or tired so here is hoping they actually come today!
Questions: I’ve gained 12 pounds… hope this is normal?! It’s my first pregnancy and to keep the queesy feeling down I’ve had to snack or eat All. The. Time. Saltines and cheese please…🤣
GTKY: What was your favorite activity as a 10-year-old? Swimming and just playing outside in the neighborhood!
@pharmfam3 I’ve gained 10lbs already. I think everyone is just so different, and even every pregnancy. I didn’t gain weight until like 20 weeks with my first and ate way worse than I am now, but this time is so different! I assume it all levels out in the end?
@mommaduck2490 I finally told work (sort of) today!! I told the most important person and they said they wouldn’t say anything until I was ready. I think I’ll wait until after my 16 week blood work and then announce to them, and then on social media at 20 weeks after anatomy scan!
@scaredunprepared thanks! At 8 weeks I gained 6lbs overnight! I thought it was just bloat, but it never went back down. It’s so weird how that happens sometimes!
@scaredunprepared- I’m so sorry you are having spotting too. It really sucks the joy out of a happy time. I’m impressed by your self control regarding the sex!!
@rgn12- we aren’t ready to announce to the world yet either, but I did tell work. I figured if anything happened at this point they need to know anyways since I would need some time off. Hopefully you will feel more comfortable after the anatomy scan!

Upcoming appointments: none until my anatomy scan In a few weeks
How are you feeling?: Tired but the nausea has been better
Rants/Raves: My NIPT came back normal! We're so thankful and I only felt mild temptation to look at the sex haha. I am so excited to be team green again. My rant is in randoms
Questions:
GTKY: What was your favorite activity as a 10-year-old? I loved playing with friends and my polly pockets.
@mommaduck2490 - I think I've felt a few flutters as well (it's also my third pregnancy to make it this far at least)
@jamieh2000 - that must be so stressful,. I'm so sorry you're continuing to deal with the spotting. Sending good vibes your way that it stops soon.
@scaredunprepared - stay strong! I can't remember if you've been team green before but it is so worth the wait! Yay for getting your hair done! Compression socks help with swelling and blood return. If you have a job where you're on your feet a lot they are very beneficial. Once I stopped working (as a nurse on my feet for 12 hour shifts) when I was 26 weeks pregnant with my second, I didn't wear them anymore.
*TW*
Me:35 DH:35 Dx: PCOS DS1 born 11/2014 DS2 born 11/2018 3 previous losses Rainbow babydue 12/2021 - Team Green
@mockingjay1 we chose to find out the sex together last time at the anatomy scan and hubby wanted to do it that way again. I can't imagine being team green until baby is born!!! I don't really do much other than run after my daughter, so I guess no need for compression socks. I am so much lazier this time around!
@PYLWhammy - omg the whining! I thought it was just my kid lol. It has been out of control lately, wth!?!
@brookert615 - ty for the sock rec, i'm ordering them today! They are so much cuter than my current ones!
@JamieH2000 - Totally, it's great but the schedule is tough. It was easier when our youngest was a baby bc we would both work nights and nap and sleep whenever, but now that she's starting school one of us (me) has to be on a normal schedule with her and my partner still works nights so we don't get to see a lot of him. I'm sorry to hear about the spotting, that is so stressful. When they diagnosed my SCH it was nice to have a reason for the bleeding but also incredibly anxiety-inducing since there was nothing I could do. I also noticed more bleeding with movement. Glad to hear your OB sounds supportive and hoping for a healed SCH soon. I signed up for allllll of the non-invasive screenings.
@scaredunprepared - yesssss haircut! That sounds amazing, I need to put one on the calendar soon. I have worn compression socks for years. They were originally recommended to me by my doctor in my early 20's since I travel a lot, I am an avid runner, and I work on my feet often for 12 hours+ a day and I never looked back. I *knock on wood* haven't had any issues with swelling or varicose veins and I really believe my compression socks have been helpful in prevention. lol I sound like a compression socks salesperson
@pharmfam3 - your grandmother's birthday sounds so sweet Yes to finally feeling good enough to exercise! I just got back into my routine last week and it feels so great to be moving again!
Upcoming appointments: tomorrow with the MFM. I should get an ultrasound tomorrow, so I'm pretty happy about that.
How are you feeling?: Better than I was. I still have moments or days when I don't feel great, but I also feel almost normal sometimes and I'm hoping that becomes more of the trend.
Rants/Raves: I'm supposed to go back to the office full time July 18 and I really don't want to.
Questions:
GTKY: What was your favorite activity as a 10-year-old? Probably reading. I was a nerdy little kid and not athletic at all.
@bkjade thanks for the indoor ideas! A dance party is going on my list for sure.
@JamieH2000I'm so sorry you are still having spotting and the anxiety that goes with that. I would definitely keep the appointment in two weeks time even if things subside to give you an extra peace of mind.
How are you feeling?: I’m feeling better. My energy has started to increase. I still need to nap everyday though.
Rants/Raves: Rant: I had gallstone issues during my last pregnancy and I just changed my eating habits instead of getting surgery & the pain stopped! Well, this time around my gallstones pain returned because I’ve been eating horrible since the weekend. I know better (shame on me😩). I put the fried foods down & I’m feeling better.
Questions: Is anyone traveling internationally before your baby arrives?
GTKY: What was your favorite activity as a 10-year-old? I loved being on the step team and dancing.
@mommyb31- I was planning on traveling but my OB just gave me a hard no due to the possibility of Zika. I’m not sure if I want to re-tool my plans to go further north (I wanted a beach!) or wait on travel.
@bkjade Wow! I didn’t know Zika was still around. I remember it being really heavy about 4 years ago & we travelled to some places. When I got pregnant with my last baby, I was so nervous about Zika that I went to see a specialist but everything was fine.
Re: Weekly check-in 6/20

How far along are you?: 13 + 4
Upcoming appointments: July 6
@scaredunprepared @kaitcrystalline haha we were always witches making magic mud pies or flower and leave potions!
@rgn12- we aren’t ready to announce to the world yet either, but I did tell work. I figured if anything happened at this point they need to know anyways since I would need some time off. Hopefully you will feel more comfortable after the anatomy scan!

Back for # 2!
How far along are you?: 14w3d
Upcoming appointments: none until my anatomy scan In a few weeks
How are you feeling?: Tired but the nausea has been better
Rants/Raves: My NIPT came back normal! We're so thankful and I only felt mild temptation to look at the sex haha. I am so excited to be team green again. My rant is in randoms
Questions:
GTKY: What was your favorite activity as a 10-year-old? I loved playing with friends and my polly pockets.
@bkjade - yay for the bar being open again!
@kaitcrystalline - I'm glad you made it safe and sound. I'm sorry the house was a mess and for no a/c
@rgn12 - yay for finally getting the fridge!
Dx: PCOS
DS1 born 11/2014
DS2 born 11/2018
3 previous losses
Rainbow baby due 12/2021 - Team Green
@pharmfam3 - your grandmother's birthday sounds so sweet
Yes to finally feeling good enough to exercise! I just got back into my routine last week and it feels so great to be moving again!
How far along are you?: 12 weeks 6 days
Upcoming appointments: tomorrow with the MFM. I should get an ultrasound tomorrow, so I'm pretty happy about that.
How are you feeling?: Better than I was. I still have moments or days when I don't feel great, but I also feel almost normal sometimes and I'm hoping that becomes more of the trend.
Rants/Raves: I'm supposed to go back to the office full time July 18 and I really don't want to.
Questions:
GTKY: What was your favorite activity as a 10-year-old? Probably reading. I was a nerdy little kid and not athletic at all.
@JamieH2000I'm so sorry you are still having spotting and the anxiety that goes with that. I would definitely keep the appointment in two weeks time even if things subside to give you an extra peace of mind.
@scaredunprepared and @pharmfam3 yay for magical friends!
How far along are you?: 16+4
Upcoming appointments: July 13th...anatomy scan☺️
