Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a croissant
Upcoming appointments: the 25th
How are you feeling?: really good, loving rubbing my bump! Heartburn at night has been mildly annoying though
Rants/Raves: we bought our travel system today and we love it so much! We bought it used from a verrrrrry anal and cleanly woman who did loads and loads of research so it literally looks brand spanking new and was hardly used
Questions:
GTKY: What fictional place would you most like to go? Definitely the wizarding world from Harry Potter
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: croissant? yum!
Upcoming appointments: Anatomy scan end of June
How are you feeling?: Pregnancy-wise, my hips have been doing much better with the pregnancy pillow at night. Still have a sore tailbone from falling on my butt.
Rants/Raves: Went to a friend's wedding this weekend. It was nice to dolled up and out of the house without a toddler in tow.
Questions:
GTKY: What fictional place would you most like to go? Hmm, that's tough. So many sci-fi or fantasy ones come to mind, but I feel like so many of those would be dangerous to actually visit. Perhaps Pandora from Avatar? It looked beautiful!
Upcoming appointments: nothing for another 3 weeks then 20 week US!
How are you feeling?: feeling okay. Got lots of movement going on. Not showing much still, but I’m okay with that. Finally starting not to cough as much, and that’s super helpful.
Rants/Raves: I want all the caffeine, but I can’t, and that makes me sad.
Questions:
GTKY: What fictional place would you most like to go? I’m with @jackie_dunny HARRY POTTER. I went to Universal Studios and played around in the HP world... so much fun. I didn’t want to leave.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: artichoke
Upcoming appointments: anatomy scan coming Friday. Cant wait to get a good glimpse of it.
How are you feeling?: rather crappy: the heat is unbearable. I had 2 weeks of good energy. I’m unable to sustain the same tempo now
Rants/Raves: broke my three pairs of glasses and never followed up fixing them. It’s annoying to go back to contacts now, especially the week I took off to chillax.
Btw, i revealed to some colleagues. They were supportive and happy. Last pregnancy, I neither had a supportive manager nor colleagues, so this means a lot to me.
Questions: do Braxton Hicks start already at 18w?
GTKY: What fictional place would you most like to go? Jurassic park! The first park was such a game changer to my imagination and inclination towards science.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a boneless chicken breast 😂
Upcoming appointments: week from today
How are you feeling?: pretty good. Still randomly getting sick but it is few and far between.
Rants/Raves: Constipation is kicking in.
GTKY: What fictional place would you most like to go? Yeah, I like both the Harry Potter world or jurassic park (minus all the chaos). Ds is obsessed with dinos and if he could actually see a real one, he'd lose his mind.
@sthlm_21 Definitely. I've been having noticeable BH since around 16 weeks.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a box of crayons
Upcoming appointments: not until my anatomy scan in 3 1/2 weeks
How are you feeling?: headaches are becoming more frequent. Is this a thing with girls or just the second trimester? I'm prone to migraines anyway, so I anticipated more in pregnancy. I feel like the whole office smells like peppermint from all the peppermint oil I've been using on my temples lol.
Rants/Raves: This may be TMI, but DH and I finally had sex! We haven't since the night before our transfer. First we weren't allowed until a few weeks after confirmation of pregnancy, then all the progesterone suppositories and fatigue, i just didn't want to. then I had my appendix taken out. Its been a long 3 months. DH also said he was afraid of hurting something with the baby. I like how men are so keen on themselves and their size that they think they can do damage with that thing lol.
Questions:
GTKY: What fictional place would you most like to go? I definitely agree with the land of Harry Potter. I am dying to go to Universal to see Harry Potter world. @jenniferjoy37 is it worth it to go pregnant or should we wait?? We are going to florida on a babymoon this summer and I thought about trying to go, but I didn't know if I would be able to enjoy anything being pregnant. (also before anyone casts any judgement, I have been vaccinated and this is the first time DH and I will be leaving the state of Texas in over a year)
@chartput I've been to Universal's Harry Potter World and whether or not it would be worth it to go now, I think depends on how much you'd want to go on the rollercoaster rides (which I'm pretty sure are not recommended in pregnancy). Otherwise, you can still enjoy the themed food/drink, shows, shops, and the Hogwart's Express!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of:I’m bad at this one lol. I’m not sure, I think 15 weeks was an orange?
Upcoming appointments: Wednesday!
How are you feeling?:my allergies are killing me. Otherwise good
Rants/Raves: at my last appointment (12 weeks) my blood pressure was so high they were considering not letting me give birth at the birth center. They ended up having to come back with us today and my blood pressure was fine! They’ve been having me monitor it just in case and I have not had one day of high blood pressure… Not sure what was up with it on that first day.
Questions:
GTKY: What fictional place would you most like to go? I’m not sure. Maybe the different lands in Lord of the Ring?
@chartput if you want to go on the rides, then wait until after pregnancy. Some of the rides are AMAZING! And the atmosphere even just in the lines is great. But you definitely want to wait if you’re a roller coaster person. I went to US in CA, so I’ve never experience the FL one.
About the headaches though, how’s your BP been? It could be an early sign of things to come. I don’t want to get you worried, but I had to have an emergency CS due to preclampsia just popping up out of nowhere, and headaches were one of the first signs.
@jenniferjoy37 I am a rollercoaster person, which is why I was wondering about waiting. i don't want to feel I'm missing out lol. so far my bp has been good, in fact it's kind of on the low end 90/60s at times. I was worried about this as well, but so far my bp has been fine. I don't know if it is a history of migraines that makes it worse in pregnancy. I am on baby aspirin since I'm borderline high risk being 34, ftm and this is an ivf baby. I'm wondering if it could be allergies as well. It has rained non stop here and I know the mold has been super high, I usually don't have allergies, but we recently moved to a new city. I brought it up with my OB last week at my appt but he didn't really seem concerned about it.
@chartput ask your OB (or just call nurse line) but try taking some magnesium at night for the headaches. Friend of mine did that and her 2nd trimester headaches went away shortly thereafter
Hi ladies! Sorry I've been so MIA, I wasn't even lurking. I got really into audiobooks again and binged whole series 😂
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 16 weeks
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: an avocado
Upcoming appointments: nothing for a while, I had to push my anatomy scan to early July because of traveling
How are you feeling?: Great, just a bit more tired lately
Rants/Raves: we're visiting family for the first time since the pandemic in less than 2 weeks, we're so excited. Plus we're doing our first night date (leaving DS with my parents)
Questions:
GTKY: What fictional place would you most like to go? Hmm I'm sorry but it would have to be Harry Potter's world too. @mayoduck Pandora from Avatar was inspired by this mountain range/national park in China (ZhangJiaJie) that is amazing! Maybe put it on your bucket list to visit, it's breathtaking
@mayoduck yes! I think it was back in 2015. We just spent the whole day climbing up (it's mainly steps but some short laddering lol... I'm surprised I did it thinking back with how scared I am of heights).
