Hahaha for real!!  And for a 5 min appt too 😅🙄

I have my next appt scheduled for the end of june and it will be my glucose test appt too. I always get so nervous. With my second DS I was almost at 140, so they made me come back and do the 3hr test 🤢 and I passed with flying colors. But now I really dread them. Don't mind the actually drinks though 😅

I see a cardiologist Friday morning finally for these heart palpitations. I am extremely nervous to say the least. I heard a horror story today about a similar situation and a young mom died days after birth with heart issues and shortness of breath. I know that’s me being dramatic but I can’t help but worry. I had chest pain after my DD was born and ended up in the ER. Doctors just said it was a lot of stress on my heart so makes me wonder what will happen after or during this labor 😞
  • @k_rn21 I'm sorry, that must be so scary. Glad you're finally able to see someone who can figure out what's going on.
    k_rn21
  • @k_rn21 so sorry you're going through this. I'm glad you have the appointment though. Keep us posted tomorrow morning!

Will do! Thanks for the support ladies 💕 @gingermama46 @noprobalo

  • I have an appointment with a pelvic floor physical therapist today. I hope they have some helpful exercises for me so I don't pee myself now or after the baby is born.

  • Good luck tomorrow, @k_rn21

  • Had anatomy scan today and she looked great! We still have a fetal echo next week and then my regular OB appointment on 6/14. Feeling very blessed and grateful to be at this point. ☺️

  • @kitandcat, ahhh! So exciting to have your RCS date set!! My DD's induction was on 10/3, and I was so hoping she'd be born on 10/4 because I thought the phrase "ten four" (like in police work or trucking on the radio) was easy to remember 😂

  • @tari_sara I had to go back with DD again because they couldn’t get the views they needed of her heart. I drank an apple juice before the first one and she was moving too much. I’m pretty sure at least one of two of the other women on here have to go for more than one too!
@kitandcat thats awesome that you already have your DD’s birthdate!

I had my 20w OB appt today at 20+3. We went over the anatomy scan (which was completely normal). My thyroid bloodwork also came back normal. My BMI is still around 17 for my height and weight for someone who is NOT pregnant 😐 I got referred to MFM at a world class children’s hospital in my area and am going to see a specialist about getting a PICC line placed. There are significant risks in terms of infection (including causing fetal death), rupture, blood clots, heart arrhythmias, etc. The risk of infection is high and it really concerns me because it’s a line inserted in the upper arm and into the heart. If the line is infected sepsis can occur rapidly. I’m on the fence about whether or not I’m willing to accept those risks. My SO is leaning towards not wanting me to do it even though he is beside himself seeing me struggle day to days.
I think we both just need to talk to the specialist and have her guide us in the decision making.

  • @galentine my niece's birthday is October 2, and my sister had the same thought as you about 10/4! You'd definitely remember that one! 😄
    galentine
  • @vampirina thank you! @tari_sara I already had my fetal echo scheduled, but during my anatomy, they couldn’t get a great view of the heart or kidneys and said they would just get them at the echo scan. They said nothing to worry about, they just want a good image, so I think it is common. She was moving like crazy so they had to skip some things and come back later.

  • @mac-n-cheesy What are the alternatives? Just IVs as often as you can get them? That does sound very scary, but I don't understand how you're getting any nutrition at all. 😥
  • Add me to the extr scan club! We couldn't get great shots of the heart. I'm wondering if they have some new info than they used to be and if its more common to need additional scans these days. Our appointment lasted 30 minutes longer than it did with my previous two and they took WAY more pictures than back then too. Crazy how much has changed in the last 3 years!
    pizzaplz
  • @noprobalo the alternative is to continue with the Zofran pump, as it is likely the only thing keeping me able to eat and drink a little. The IV’s only last 2-4 days and if they need to do it more often than once every few weeks they suggest a PICC line. My OB was hesitant because of the risk of infection but hopefully the MFM specialist at the children’s hospital will have a different perspective. I’m just watching my belly slowly grow and my arms and legs lose all muscle tone and fat. I’ve been living off of fruit and am very happy when a protein bar, cottage cheese, yogurt etc stays down. I’m already fantasizing about my first meal after delivery!!
  • @mac-n-cheesy I hope you can come to a solution that works both physically and emotionally for you and DH soon! That's so hard!
  • Had my second anatomy scan again today and still baby is hiding! His facing away so the ultrasound couldn't visualize all the heart views, part of his cord, and his diaphragm :( i have to go back again in 2 weeks!

  • Oh also my report says I have a low lying placenta. But I don't think it's concerning (,yet) because the placenta can still move up when the uterus expands? Still little anxious :/
    chindimples04galentine
  • @tari_sara jeepers, what stubborn little man! And yes, the placenta has plenty of time to move! Hopefully he’s more cooperative in a couple of weeks!

  • @chindimples04, I'm so glad your midwife was understanding about your wanting to be seen at 24 and 28 weeks. What a relief! ❤
    chindimples04
  • @galentine yes, that was a huge relief. She started talking about the 26 week appointment and I said that I would prefer to be seen at 24 and 28 since that’s when complications started to arise with DD. She sounded relieved, honestly. This was a new midwife I haven’t seen before and she was so great! The last new one I saw was really judgy. Didn’t like her at all!

  • @galentine Yeah, that could have been phrased differently. It makes me sad that so many women who are the most vulnerable they've ever been in their adult lives don't get more compassion and careful handling from their healthcare providers. But I guess those providers just aren't in the same headspace and aren't thinking of things that way. Sorry the tech scared you.

@k_rn21 glad they're having your heart monitored!! Scary that the palpitations are getting worse. Hope you get answers in the next few weeks from all these tests.
    k_rn21
  • Came back to my 3rd attempt for anatomy scan to visualize the heart, and they still couldn't see the LVOT and RVOT. I have to come back in 2 weeks for a fetal echocardiogram. I'm super worried. They said it's probably due to the baby's position (face to placenta)  but I'm still worried there may be heart issues..... welp....
  • @mac-n-cheesy Thinking about you today. How did your consultation for the PICC line go?
