How many months have you been TTC?:
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?:
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)
Hello! I am excited to be in a community where I can learn from & chat with others who are on similar journeys as I am! This is my first time posting & I figured an intro would be a great way to start.
Ages (you and SO): I am 26 (will be 27 in July!) & my husband is 27.
How many months have you been TTC?: This is our first month trying. I am currently in the TWW & am supposed to get my period on Wednesday if I am not pregnant.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: I tried using Easy at Home ovulation strips this month to try & help me determine when I ovulate so we would know when we would have the highest chance of conceiving.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) No kids, but we do have 4 dogs (I know, we are crazy! We didn't mean for it to happen this way LOL), my husband is a salesman (recently made a huge career switch, he was an LEO for 6 years) & I am a wedding photographer. Some of our hobbies are traveling, hiking, riding horses, farming, & we both play instruments & love music!
@cdc101 Welcome! We just have two dogs, but one weighs ~150lbs, so maybe he counts as three? lol GL to you! If this is not your cycle, you have found a wonderful group of women to share the TTC journey with you. <3
@BusinessWife Thanks! Ah 150 lbs is a big boy! Haha! Big dogs are the best though!
Thank you! I am so happy to have an online community that I can share the journey with since we are trying to keep it quiet to those that we know personally. I think it is going to be a great help & a way to vent/share things with when I need too!
@cdc101 welcome to our community! I hope your stay here is short but sweet! It's good to have another dog lover on here. We just recently got our first dog (after much convincing of our landlord) and we couldn't be happier.
Hello! This is my first time on a message board, so a little nervous! But I am hoping to find some other women to talk to about everything.
Ages (you and SO): I am 24 and my husband will be 26 tomorrow actually!
How many months have you been TTC?: We've been trying on/off since August 2020, but only 7 cycles of trying. Just ended the 7th cycle today with AF
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: I used OPKs for the first four months. My cycles are regular, so when I ran out, my husband and I just used timing and my physical signs. Going to start using them again this cycle, though.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) My husband is from China, so we are living in China right now with our 3 cats. We are both English teachers here. For hobbies, I love being outdoors hiking or just walking around the parks and beach. We live is a beautiful coastal city surrounded by mountains, so there is a lot of nature to experience!
I'm looking forward to getting to know some women on here!
Hey everyone! I've been inactive for a couple of years, but spent a decent chunk of time on this board in the past.
Ages (you and SO): 32 & 36
How many months have you been TTC?: We technically haven't been preventing for years, but we have identified IF issues, so the odds that anything happens on its own are somewhere south of 1%. My initial consult with my new RE is scheduled for late August, so we're just hanging out until then trying to get back into the TTC and IVF mindset.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Right now, not a whole lot. I stopped all of the tracking, temping, etc. when we got our diagnosis. My prior RE and OB were in the same practice, and they and their partners decided to close their practice and go their separate ways last May. It's been rough because I had been with my OB for a decade and both of them had helped me through some difficult medical situations in the past so the idea of having to find new providers who I trust as much is daunting. The plan is to meet with new RE in August and go from there. Hopefully we'll be able to jump right into a transfer cycle with one of our remaining snowglobes!
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) We have one son who will be 3 this fall. He's pretty awesome. We also have 2 dogs (8 and 10) and we just added a cat to the family this past fall. When I get my hands on some free time, I love to read and knit/crochet. I'm basically 80 years old at heart, lol.
I know! Everyone is spread so far and wide these days @zwink1 We are good! So far we have had one FET (trying for our third) not work, and down to our one last embie. :/ Really hoping for a miracle here!!!!!!
@mokamonster Welcome welcome! I hope your stay here is short and sweet. I'll reply to your post from yesterday's Daily WTO: I have Hashimoto's Thyroditis. Currently my TSH is being controlled with Synthroid, but the doctors haven't given much damn about my rising TPO antibodies. So, I'm now starting to work with a functional medicine doctor to get those under control (hopefully) before we do an IVF transfer sometime in the next few months. What kind of dietary changes did you make to control your Hashimoto's?
@zwink1 welcome back! Feel free to jump in to our weekly IF thread. I'm also about to create this week's TTA/Benched thread to make sure everyone has a home to post to. I'm sorry you're stuck waiting until August for a new RE; I hate waiting. And it's not a great thing to say "I hope the next few months fly by" since Summer is here!
@BusinessWife I feel like it was just a couple of weeks ago that you guys were a few weeks ahead of us w/ #1. Time really does fly. I have all of my fingers and toes crossed for this embie!!
@acleverusername, thanks! I dipped my toe back into the IF thread. The waiting game is rough, but I'm really hoping is worthwhile for this RE we've been referred to. I'll be moving from a small private practice to a large teaching hospital based care team, so it'll definitely be a huge change. Now that I've set the consult down though, I'm starting to get so antsy!
@acleverusername It's great to hear someone else with the same problem TTC! I basically cut out all iodine products. So I eat no iodine salt, no seafood, no dairy and no soy. It's really difficult to stick to it all of the time but cooking everything at home helps. Going in tomorrow morning for more bloodwork so I'm hoping for the best! You can talk to your doctor about switching to a low-iodine diet and see what they think. Also, most PNVs have iodine so you'll want to check labels carefully. I hope you can get your levels under control and the transfer can get started soon!!
@mokamonster yikes!!! That’s a lot of changes. But ultimately, if I want to see the difference in my TPO levels, I might have to do that. No fish tho... that’ll be hard. Thanks for sharing.
How many months have you been TTC?: 1 month of really trying this time, but we tried a few years ago for some time but had to stop when my illness got bad again.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Charting, BBT, will probably start using OPKs again if AF shows her face soon.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) We have one dog who is basically a cranky old man, but I love him dearly. I have severe mental illness, so deciding again to TTC was a hard decision. I'm a copywriter for a marketing agency for a living, but I like to write novels on my own time.
@acleverusername Yeah, it is really a lot of work! You can't even eat seaweed! But it really did work, my TSH level went from 2000 to normal in two months
(edit for spelling) Hello everyone! I'm excited/nervous to be posting again. I haven't been on in a while, but was active with my 04/16 and 07/19 BMBs. This community has been a lifesaver in the past.
Ages (you and SO): 27 and 31
How many months have you been TTC?: This is the first month.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Not charting this time around. Trying to take advantage of every opportunity and hope for the best.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I've been blessed with two boys, 5 years and 22 months. I would love to add one final member of our family more than anything and have just gotten DH on board. Although I've never experienced a pregnancy loss (my heart goes out to all who have), I have PTSD from loss of immediate family members as a child. I don't feel comfortable talking to anyone I'm close with about my anxieties of trying to get pregnant or pregnancies themselves. I can't wait to get to know all of you!
Reintroducing myself since I
took a few months off from the board.
Ages (you and
SO): 32, 31
How many months have you been TTC?: Since Nov/Dec… so 6 or 7 months
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Tracking with OPKs
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies,
etc.) I work at a
large university doing research in nano technology. MH works for a large
company as a lead operator/first responder/firefighter. We love to travel and
go camping. Our summers are usually pretty busy with camping trips every other
weekend.
I was on here a few years
ago when trying for our first (DS, Sept2019). We were ultimately diagnosed with
unexplained IF. Took us 22 months and a handful of treatment cycles to get KU.
Then I came back on when we started trying for our second but I had to take a
step back for my mental health. I got way too caught up in my emotions and
forced myself to take a break. **TW** During that break we got KU on our own! I
got repeat betas that same week and found out they weren’t doubling like they
should. The same day I got a positive test I had actually picked up my meds
earlier for the IUI we were planning for the next cycle. Since the mc we’ve
decided not to go back to the IUI plan right away. I know you can be more
fertile that first 3ish months afterwards. So that’s our plan for right now.
Happy to see the board is a bit busier!

Hi friends, figure I'd re-intro here (didn't see one for this week) since I've been gone a month and there are a lot of new faces...
Ages (you and SO): early 30s
How many months have you been TTC?: This will be 5 whenever we get the green light, currently benched
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: BBT/CM

*TW loss*
Unfortunately my recent pregnancy ended in a miscarriage at 7 weeks last week. I'm surprisingly ok with everything, since I just had a feeling something wasn't quite right this time, so having the closure was nice, in a way. Still haven't seen my OB yet, just briefly spoke last week when he advised me to go to the ER, so I'm eager to have my appointment on Wednesday to hear when we can start trying again, and make sure everything still looks good. Mentally, I'm ready to move forward, but obviously I need to make sure my body is too. (I was way too excited this morning to see my temp drop below 98F!) I know I'm probably crazy for diving right back in here (the TTGP board) so soon, but I miss the sense of community you get with this board and the BMBs. And to be honest, lurking through the loss boards across various sites/apps was making me feel really depressed and ramped up my already high anxiety regarding any future pregnancies, as there are so many heartbreaking stories on them, so I try not to peek too often. So I'll probably be lurking/participating here as I feel comfortable.
@pajamstagrams sorry to see you back here. There's nothing wrong with diving back in right away! I basically did that back in October after my boss because I know this group welcomes everyone back with open arms no questions asked. You're amongst friends here

@pajamstagrams hugs friend. So sorry for your loss. I also dove right back in here after my loss in January and like @inthewoods23 said, was welcomed back with open arms. We’re here for you!
@pajamstagrams so sorry for your loss. I’m glad you’re feeling good and healthy and ready for next steps. There’s no wrong way to process loss and I hope diving back in helps you feel empowered and optimistic.
@pajamstagrams I am so so sorry friend. I hope you won't be here for too much longer. It sounds like you're dealing with things pretty well, but don't forget about the TTCAL weekly thread for additional support.

Hello everyone!
Reintroducing myself since I took a few months off from the board.
Ages (you and SO): 32, 31
How many months have you been TTC?: Since Nov/Dec… so 6 or 7 months
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Tracking with OPKs
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I work at a large university doing research in nano technology. MH works for a large company as a lead operator/first responder/firefighter. We love to travel and go camping. Our summers are usually pretty busy with camping trips every other weekend.
I was on here a few years ago when trying for our first (DS, Sept2019). We were ultimately diagnosed with unexplained IF. Took us 22 months and a handful of treatment cycles to get KU. Then I came back on when we started trying for our second but I had to take a step back for my mental health. I got way too caught up in my emotions and forced myself to take a break. **TW** During that break we got KU on our own! I got repeat betas that same week and found out they weren’t doubling like they should. The same day I got a positive test I had actually picked up my meds earlier for the IUI we were planning for the next cycle. Since the mc we’ve decided not to go back to the IUI plan right away. I know you can be more fertile that first 3ish months afterwards. So that’s our plan for right now.
