I also had McDonalds. 2 cheeseburgers and a large fri!! plan on getting a brownie sundae with coconut icecream caramel and hot fudge at some point this weekend too! what my baby wants my baby gets!
(i eat kale smoothies and fruit most of the day i’m allowed to!)
@fifilala516 that would normally sound delish to me (minus the hot sauce)! No flaming here. Apparently my egg aversion has started to set in. DH made my son scrambled eggs in the microwave this morning and I smelled it as soon as I came down stairs and about knocked me out. And then a coworker had an egg muffin sandwich at lunch today. 🤢
@laurabridget, I say eat all the things. Right now I'm eat whatever sounds good at the moment because currently nothing ever sounds good. I normally have a protein shake with spinach every morning though just to make sure I'm getting something nutritious in. I'm better with healthy food at breakfast and lunch - but all bets are off for dinner.
DH is going to Vegas for the weekend, so it will be a lot of survival food this weekend for me and DS.
Mine is. I have a shopping problem. A big one. I actually hid my online packages from DH today while he was at the gym. It was more gender neutral baby items. And I put the packaging in the trunk of my car. 😇🙃
Regarding breakfast sandwiches, I had a serious craving for the bacon and gouda sandwich from Starbucks today, but I was too lazy to pull off the highway to bother.
My FFFC: I have three typical cravings when I'm pregnant: super juicy fruit, grapefruit juice, and Cheez-Its. I have an Instacart order currently on its way with those three items (plus others), and I'm absolutely ripping into the Cheez-Its and grapefruit juice immediately upon receipt.
Confession. I don’t love being a mom. I love my kids obviously. But becoming a mom didn’t “complete” me or whatever. And becoming a SAHM has made me depressed because it feels like I’ve lost all of my identity outside of being “mom.” I am jealous of all the women who just love motherhood so much and are so good at it. By the end of the week my kids have me so stressed out I cry all day and can’t see straight.
@MagalinaH love it!!! i actually bought some shirts today too! 🙈 only they say ‘Big Bro’ and ‘Big Sis’. I haven’t bought the Little onesie yet, I know it won’t jinx anything if I did but part of me is like 😬😬 pump the breaks! haha It’s so hard not to! I’m trying to wait for my first ultrasound or the NIPT test to tell my kids and then shirts are going to tell everyone else in our family! 🤞🏼🤞🏼
@magalina_h I think it never hurts to ask how it's prepared if you're eating out - but I know some recipes do call for the raw egg yolk! I am going out to dinner tonight and I hope they don't prepare it that way lol
@MrsJessS Sending hugs. I know other women that feel the same way you do, and I definitely get waves of that myself. Especially after the past year, when we pulled the kids from day care for 14 months. The only reason I maintained my sanity is because my MIL came to visit for days on end every couple of weeks to help wrangle the kids. Being a SAHM is the hardest job ever. How old are your kids?
@Lisa3379 thank you. They are 3.5 and 15 months. We just moved here so I don’t have friends and getting out with them is more stressful than it’s worth most of the time. So it’s just very isolating. And I think the upsetting part is that it has taken away all the joy of parenting. Now it just feels overwhelming. Before we moved I had good friends and we would go to each other’s houses regularly and that helped a lot.
@MrsJessS That's just about the same age difference as my kids, and they were the same ages as yours at the start of the pandemic. It gets easier as they get older. You won't have to hover so much as they play at parks (although with my 2.5 year old, he still scares the crap out of me with the stuff he tries to do, haha). But I've so been there. Have you considered preschool for the older one? Even a part time program might be good for them to get out and socialize and burn off some energy, and it would help lighten the load for you and you could focus on your little one more.
@Lisa3379@MrsJessS YES! My DS goes to preschool during the day (he starts kindergarten in the fall) but I think it has helped so much. With talking, socialization, and just giving me a minute to myself again. Even if just part time. I think there are a ton of benefits! He gets to play and make friends and I get a chance to go to target with out him or enjoy my Starbucks run a little longer. I will say- I always miss him and can't wait to pick him up at the end of the day but, the time alone is much needed sometimes!
@firewife2021 Totally. And I'm able to get housework and the drudgery done and focus more on the kids and have fun with them when they get home after school and on the weekends. I feel like I'm a WAY better, more patient mom because of the time we have apart.
@MrsJessS sending lots of hugs. I can partially understand what you mean. I teach, so I sort of get the best of both worlds. I reaffirm every summer that I am not cut out to be a SAHM. Last year with everything being shut down was hard, and I only had 1, pretty independent kiddo. I couldn't have imagined 2. It's an incredibly hard job!! DH tried to help as much as possible when he got home from work giving me solo walks, since we couldn't go anywhere at the time.
@laurabridget those shirts are adorable! I get what you mean about jinxing. It crossed my mind too! But I also hate paying shipping, and didn't want to pay it twice, lol.
My FFC is that I never got on board with the dont eat this dont do that when pregnant thing. Woman habe been giving birth for milleniums. Do you think they had pasterization? Do you think they cut out meats that today deems unhealthy? I highly doubt it. And those women and their babies turned out ok.

My FFFC is that I had a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit (w/ hot sauce!) from McDonald's for breakfast....and it was delicious.

I know I'm jumping the gun, but they were on sale. I ordered both yesterday off of Etsy.

I have a craving for a Caesar salad but the dressing typically has raw egg in it. *sad face*

There's a really good salad at Costco that I've been craving. The Mediterranean Crunch Salad. So yummy!
