  • @keikilove Thank you. <3 Yes, it's a weird thing.  Most people my age you would expect them to still have both around.  One being gone, it happens, people empathize.   Both being gone, I think people get a slight shock when they find out; you can hear it / see it on their faces, which makes me feel extra awful about it.  Ha.  But yes, hopefully it will be a nice quiet weekend with some family we haven't seen in a while, but still pretty intimate, nice, and low-key.

    c19 related / someone else's kid
<div class=" Spoiler">My nephew apparently has been experiencing some pretty crippling covid-related anxiety and panic attacks, poor kid, (not that he's that young). ...but I also know his mother's responses to everything feed into his fears in a way that I'm sure is not healthy.  But anyway, I just hope it all goes okay, because from what I hear, he is not too jazzed about coming for other various reasons I won't get into, and of course they are making him come anyway.  But I hate to break it to him - it's NOT ABOUT HIM.  So I hope he is in a place where he can be mature enough to put some of his own issues on the shelf and try to just have a nice visit. :/ (He's 13.)</div>
  • @BusinessWife I know exactly what you mean. Most people are just shocked and look at you with pity. 😢 But I worked for one idiot a few years ago who pried into my life and then exclaimed happily, “Oh, you’re an orphan like me!” I was thinking, “No, you a-hole. You’re in your 50s, it’s normal to have lost both parents by that age. I’m in my 30s, there’s nothing normal about it.” Anyway, I hope that your whole family can appreciate the time you have together and that everyone will be on their best behavior.🌻💕
  • @BusinessWife I hope your weekend is really lovely and feels supportive and honoring to your loss. Also, ticks creep me out SO much.

R/R: FRIDAY! And I’m pumped to go wedding dress shopping for my little sis tomorrow!

CS/Q: I feel like every day this week I’ve posted, “maybe I’m ovulating today” 😂 So anyway. Maybe I’m ovulating today? This is my highest LH reading. I’m just...tired of the sex, y’all. I’m usually totally on board with sex but this week, just struggling.

R/R: Rave: it's Friday, my migraine is gone, and my other side effects from the surprise pneumonia vaccine are gone, hooray! I'm very glad for the weekend. Rant: eh, ish rant: a coworker is leaving our team, and I'm going to miss her but I'm happy she's going where she needs to go in life; I love that for her.

    CS/Q: No.

@ReadyForaB You nailed it about Friday! Biggest win of the week is it's Friday!

@BusinessWife I'm really glad to hear that you took bereavement leave for yourself; that's so important to do, and it's good you have the option to take it & used that option; it can be really hard to do take the time we need even when we're fortunate enough to have the option for that time, so yeah, just really want to say good for you for doing that; that's a massively good thing when handling all of this. Also, ooh dear, ticks, nope, no thank you. Eeek.

@keikilove congrats on doing your taxes; that's a real headache. get that sleep now!

@rachelredhead aw, yay wedding dress shopping! that is so exciting and fun!

CS/Q: welp, AF showed up yesterday afternoon which puts me back at a 23 day cycle after april lengthening to 27 when i had been avg 25. i actually called my OBGYN and made an annual appt for july, i haven't been since feb 2020. at that point we'll have been trying for 8 months and i'll be curious what her thoughts are.

@ReadyForaB @beakay8 this week felt like a year!

@businesswife oh gosh, i think i missed something else happening? i'm so sorry, and i'm glad you could take some time.

@keikilove ugh taxes are the worst, i finished ours wednesday. i keep saying next year we'll hire someone, and then i don't. they're evil since both of us are self employed.

@rachelredhead ooh dress shopping is so fun!

R/R: Rant - I finally got the opportunity to confront the coworker (I say coworker, but she outranks me, but isn't my boss, if that makes sense) who disrespected me on Monday, and it went over like a lead balloon. Every time I tried to turn the corner and wrap things up in a positive light, she'd make a hard left and turn the conversation towards the negative. So, it ended on a sour note and now I'm regretting standing up for myself because I feel like I just made our working relationship and the entire situation much, much worse. It's just been a sh*tty week all around, and I am so ready for a good weekend. Please let this weekend be good.

Rave - I'm eating a cinnamon roll for lunch.

@babyodo good for you for confronting your coworker. I'm sure that was hard to do, and I'm sorry she wasn't receptive. Enjoy your cinnamon roll and hopefully you can get a strong drink in tonight too!

@BusinessWife yuck to ticks! We were just told by another fur-parent that there are some in our very wooded neighborhood and he's like "check your dog after you bring her home", but our corgi has so much fur and I have no idea what I'd be looking for! I'm glad too that you've taken some time off this week to reflect and remember your parents; I hope everyone in the family can gather peacefully to honor them and keep them at the forefront of their minds.

@keikilove girl... I'm 100% with you on Taxes. I'm working with an accountant and I just asked him to file for an extension because I honestly haven't bothered to get all my paperwork in gear. Also, I kind of want to file jointly with MH since we got married last year, but he hasn't filed his taxes for last year, so we need to get that out of the way first. Also, I had a similar situation with MH yesterday re: paying for a service that was supposed to be covered by insurance. Argh! Men!

@ReadyForaB Hope you get your CH's tomorrow!

@rachelredhead Hopefully you're ovulating today! Your Mira chart is confusing with the multiple rises in E2.

@beakay8 It's so nice that you can put the disappointment of your coworker leaving behind your happiness for her next professional step!

@anniemarie887 have you ever had any of your hormones tested? Either way, it's a good thing to book that OB appointment. You should insist on getting our Day 3 hormones checked (if you're not KUed by then) as shorter cycles might be a sign of imbalances.

@babyodo I am sorry that confronting your co-worker didn't yield the desired results. Sometimes, we just have to chalk it up to immaturity and learn to live with it/move on. Hopefully you can isolate your failed efforts / from her not being receptive to them because she's immature and not because of something you did.

    Month/Cycle: 17/17

WAYDTGKU: mid-luteal start IVF protocol!!! (And lots of supps and vits to support the cycle)

R/R: rave: we had a meeting with our care team coordinator this morning and she is REALLY nice; both MH and I are feeling good about having gone with this doctor and this clinic. I start Letrazole this evening to expedite my ovulation this cycle so that I can start stimming sooner rather than later. Aslo, tomorrow we have to do our anti-viral therapy (5 days of pills) to make sure we don't have any underlying bacterial issues!

We also have big plans for tomorrow: taking our dog for her first training class and ***Others' LC***

My best friend's son turns 2 today, and I've HARDLY seen him since he was born because we didn't used to life in the city, and we only moved here just as pandemic was starting/shelter-in-place was declared, so we haven't seen him very much at all this year either! So, tomorrow, we're meeting them in the park for some socially distanced birthday fun! And we're brining our dog as we've been sending photos and videos of her to my friend and her son is apparently in love and can't wait to meet her!

CS/Q: I'm not sure I'm going to chart this month because of treatment... and I might return my TempDrop and use an oral thermometer when we get to transfer cycles.

i got pregnant right away with my daughter, but i also know and am clearly living that not meaning the same thing for #2. i am going to message my OB and see if she'll order the labs for me to do beforehand. i really like her, and i think she'll be agreeable to this. i'm just under 35, so technically i know it's a year. but blah blah blah.

And my exams yesterday weren't super bad, and I'm free for a week and a half until my summer class. And I treated myself to supplies for Bob Ross painting as an end of semester gift to myself so that'll be fun.

CS/Q: Sure enough, FF was right, ovulation happened mad early and we missed it, on to the next now.

  • @ReadyForaB +1 to Friday yay!
@BusinessWife eewwww ticks. Have you looked into having your yard treated? We had to stop this year due to finances, but we were using a company called Tick Ranger that sprayed the yard with I think cedar oil once a month during warm weather, and we haven't found ticks on our dog the entire time we used them. I highly recommend it if you can swing it.
@keikilove it's always good when you have good tax news
@rachelredhead I FEEL YOU. Part of the reason we miss my ovulation when it's super early like this is because neither of us has the stamina to have sex so often for weeks on end, and we don't want to start too early and be worn out by the time O comes.
@beakay8 yay no more migraine! They're one of the literal worst things, I'm glad you're feeling better.
@anniemarie887 that's frustrating. I hope by the time your visit comes either the question will be moot, or you'll have a productive visit with the doctor.
@babyodo Don't feel bad about sticking up for yourself. Some people are just determined to be miserable and/or always right/always the victim.
@acleverusername awesome, I'm glad you guys clicked with the clinic!
  • @fantasyflyte how did the fasting glucose test go? I did that last year and turns out I'm actually a bit hypoglycemic (I "crashed" after 2 hours). And knowledge is power, even if it's not the results you hope for. Enjoy your 1.5 weeks off!

  • @anniemarie887 generally if you're near 35, most recommend seeing your OB around TTC month 9. The only people who might disagree with that plan are the folks at insurance companies that need to pay for any testing. (Sometimes insurance just won't pay if you're under 35 and haven't been trying for more than 12 months.) Hopefully this will be a non-issue though.  🤞🏻🙏🏻

  • @acleverusername the test itself was fine, I imagine I'll get the results with my other bloodwork at my physical next week. I was just glad they let me go out and about and I didn't have to wait 2 hours in the waiting room. The drink was way better than I expected, I was expecting like cough syrup consistency goop, but it just looked like water and tasted a lot like lemon Propel. As much as I'm nervous about the results, I am glad to have done it and not have it hanging over my head anymore.
  • @acleverusername thank you, and so excited your feeling good about your care team and Dr! I think that makes a valuable difference.
