A little backstory: I'm 33 so I feel my clock is ticking. I have 2 kids already and had planned not having more until I recently married my husband. He's younger than me with no kids so we are kinda excited to get the ball rolling. My IUD was overdue to be removed by like 3 years but it was removed without complications. I've now had my 2nd period since having it removed (currently ovulating). I've read online that most healthy couples conceived within 6 months to a year. Just curious as to what others may have experienced after having an IUD removed. TIA

Hello! This board probably works a little differently than you may be expecting. There is a welcome new members area you can look through That will help you understand more what we are about. We are more of a community and have an order and decorum we follow. If you are Interested after lurking and reading the pinned posts there’s a new member intro thread you’ll want to start at.
@brycemay2010: girl, you posted on a board with a bunch of ladies who are TRYING to get pregnant. How the heck are we supposed to tell you how long it took us to get pregnant?! Like, seriously, take a sec and think about it. Then maybe go onto the First Trimester Board and see if that's maybe a better place to ask your question. There are also plenty of other places on the internet to ask this question, but this place ain't it. (See helpful info from my girl @daisy0322 above. Although check out the The Ultimate TTGP Guide -- Newbies, Read This First!! pinned at the top of this community).
But since you asked... I've had my IUD removed in December 2019, and it's May 2021 and I still haven't gotten pregnant.
And also... I'm 37, so imagine how I feel when you tell me that you feel that your clock is ticking. But, I'm feeling somewhat benevolent so I'm going to quote from this Parents article for you:
Your odds of conceiving are still high — up to an 86 percent success rate for couples that try for a full year. The only major change is that your chances of miscarriage by age 30 have risen to 20 percent
Conventional wisdom says that you don't need to see fertility treatment in your early 30s until you've been trying for a year with no luck, but some doctors recommend consulting your ob-gyn or primary care physician if you're still having trouble after 9 months.
"That way, they can pinpoint any problems and treat them before your fertility starts to decline more rapidly after 35," Dr. Copperman says.
Re: How long after having Mirena removed did it take you to conceive?
