  • How far along are you? 11+1

Any new symptoms? I can now fall asleep before ds and all my joints hurt after a long day at work.

Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go?

I just had my re-do appointment and I think it went well aside from the crying right away when asked how I was dealing. But I got to come home with the welcome packet and set up 2 more ultrasounds for NT testing and anatomy scan.

How many kids do you already have, and how old are they? 3 year old and 9 year old

How are your other kids doing this week?

3 year old isn't as mean this week, he keeps asking if the baby came out yet, dd was told last Friday and she wanted to announce to her class.

Concerns/Questions: struggling with grief and bonding at the same time

GTKY: What’s the furthest you’ve been from home?

Probably for travel it would be Australia. Dd biodad is from Australia. I dont think dd has heard from him since Janurary when he had a baby.

Any new symptoms? Headaches! Vomiting finally let up but exhaustion remains and he vome with daily headaches.

Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? I have an appointment this afternoon

How many kids do you already have, and how old are they? 4yr old son

How are your other kids doing this week? Great! He moved up early to pre-k and all his shitty behavior I thought might be boredom with his old class has disappeared.

Concerns/Questions: I'm having a hard time buying in fully with this pregnancy. In the first trimester I figured it was just... caution after my MMC in the fall. But I'm just slow to adjust here.

Any new symptoms? Increased energy, yay!

Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? OB on Friday morning 🙂

How many kids do you already have, and how old are they? Can we get rid of this question in the future? It’s a bit redundant every week haha @jackie_dunny

How are your other kids doing this week? He’s good, at school today!

    Concerns/Questions: N/A

GTKY: What’s the furthest you’ve been from home? Hmmm...Trieste, Italy.

  • How far along are you? 14+1

Any new symptoms? more snoring, a little back pain already, I think there was something else but I can't think of it right now.

Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? None.

How many kids do you already have, and how old are they? 5 year old boy, girl turning 2 this month

How are your other kids doing this week? My son has been pretty emotional lately. He gets really frustrated and discouraged about anything that's hard like trying to put his shoes and socks on.

    Concerns/Questions:

GTKY: What’s the furthest you’ve been from home? When I lived in Hawaii and went to Egypt. I had to fly from Hawaii to New York first and that was like 14 hours and then all the way to Cairo from there, which was another really long, overnight flight. It was crazy.

  • How far along are you? 14+2

Any new symptoms? Sleeping on my stomach is getting uncomfortable so I'm having to get creative to get comfortable at night.

Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? May 20th.

How many kids do you already have, and how old are they? 4 yr old son

How are your other kids doing this week? He's extra clingy and cuddly, which I'm not mad about.

    Concerns/Questions:

GTKY: What’s the furthest you’ve been from home? From the Midwest to Florida in the US 🤦‍♀️. Very little travel opportunities in my life lol

  • How far along are you? 12+1

    Any new symptoms? Nope

Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? I had my first appointment yesterday. Heard baby’s heartbeat so that was nice!

How many kids do you already have, and how old are they? 3. I agree with @sliztee this question seems very redundant

How are your other kids doing this week? It’s my 5yo last week of kindergarten! So proud of her

    Concerns/Questions:  nope.

GTKY: What’s the furthest you’ve been from home? I traveled to Honduras after high school for a mission trip

  • @sliztee @Starynightsky24 I’m more than happy to get rid of it if that’s how everyone feels especially since I’m just a lurker but personally, I can’t remember everyone’s kids ages so it’s nice to get a refresher lol

  • I don't mind the question,  because I forget everything and like to be able to cross check if need be. 🤣
  • I vote to please keep the question @jackie_dunny....I can't remember everyone's littles and I find it convenient to get reminded 🙈
  • How far along are you? 11+6

Any new symptoms? Nothing really, feeling well

Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? NT scan is this Friday, please send all the good vibes and/or prayers! I'm so nervous

How many kids do you already have, and how old are they? DS - 19 months

How are your other kids doing this week? He's great, we have him in part time daycare and we're looking to make the jump to full time asap (though there's a wait-list now). He seems to get so bored/moody on the 2 days that he's home with us while we're working... Which is unsurprising.

Concerns/Questions: I'm just curious for boy moms, what age did your littles start to potty train? I told my husband to just expect 3 yo so we're not frustrated

GTKY: What’s the furthest you’ve been from home? China, every trip used to take like 32+ hours due flights and layovers

@Marz1pan I feel the same way. We had a mmc in 2019 and a cp last year and even though I'm so close to the second tri, I check the heart beat once a week, AND we just found out we are having a girl, I still can't connect. We even have a name picked out and I thought that would help, but I keep thinking what if something happens and I've attached a name to this thing, won't that make it worse. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way.
  • I agree while getting to know everyone it helps as a reminder of their kids. Maybe when answering we could shorten the answer format to make it less wordy to answer like we do for weeks, like "DS 5, DD 2" for example (with number being their age).

How far along are you? 14+6

    Any new symptoms? Not really

Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? May 20 is my next OBGYN appointment.

How many kids do you already have, and how old are they? DS is 5, DD is 3

How are your other kids doing this week? They’re doing well. DS has a fractured clavicle, so we’re out for the rest of the t-ball season. He’s upset about it. DD is jealous of her brother’s extra attention and keeps telling me she has a broken bone.

Concerns/Questions: @marbellie my DS is on ADS. We dealt with a intense speech delay for a long time. We potty trained him (just #1 day time) a little over 3.5 (after we got out of school). He did great and within a week, he was using the potty independently. #2 took a little longer, but he’s got potty problems. We still wear pull-ups at night, but this summer, I’m going to try to encourage him to maybe go without. He can for naps when they happen. Anyway, to stop my rambling—I’m glad we put it off for so long because it kept everyone from being so frustrated and ended up being super easy.

GTKY: What’s the furthest you’ve been from home? When DS was 9 months, we drove to Montana from Louisiana.

  • @marbellie My son is 2, showed some interest and readiness a little before his second birthday (~3 months ago) but then suddenly wanted nothing to do with the toilet, so we didn't push it. Now he's been resisting diaper changes and his teacher at daycare said he's been doing great with saying when he's wet or dirtied his diaper so we're thinking of trying again. If we have to pause the training again, it probably won't happen until after his third birthday, which I'm ok with.
  • @marbellie DS had just turned 3. We didn't do anything formal, just let him tell us once he was interested. He had the option of a small potty and a seat that sat on the big toilet and he just started going.  He got peeing down pretty much instantly but didn't like pooping so we bribed him with an m&m everytime he did, and then he was good.

I definitely think that just waiting until they are ready is best.  It was literally no effort, and at 4.5 now he's had no regressions.
  • How far along are you? 12 + 6

Any new symptoms? My uterus feels super heavy and just kind of sore. I did a lot of lifting my kids yesterday and I noticed that it was worse after picking one of them up, even the toddler.

Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? 5/20

How many kids do you already have, and how old are they? DD1 5, DD2 will be 4 on Friday 😭, DD3 15 months

How are your other kids doing this week? My oldest is being pretty sassy and exercising her independence. So, that’s fun. DD2 is swooping in to try to rub in DD1’s face that she’s well behaved. It’s really hard not to laugh at both of them right now. DD3 is saying a new word everyday 🥰

    Concerns/Questions:

GTKY: What’s the furthest you’ve been from home? Texas. It sounds lame to all of you world that travelers, but it was a 2 day trip. Lol

re potty training - I obviously don’t have any boys but my oldest wasn’t really potty trained until she was 4, my middle was potty trained at just before 3. My neighbor has a little boy that just turned 2 and he’s completely potty trained. I know conventional wisdom says boys take longer and maybe that’s true on a larger scale but I really just think each kid is different. I know I’ve mentioned The 3 Day Potty Training Method book before, but I really do think it’s worth the read. I had so much trouble training my older girls and then I finally caved and bought that book. It made a huge difference.
  • Thanks everyone! @doodleoodle I'll check out that book.

I'm fine with waiting until he's ready for sure, we actually never really mind changing diapers. The funny thing is that my friend (married a Chinese man and did the Chinese method) had a daytime potty trained kid by like 13 months. Have I told you guys about babies in China? They walk around diaper free with holes in their pants so their butts are always out lol. They potty train so early there without issue I guess, but that's because the kids learn about their functions so early being essentially pants free 😂
  • @marbellie I hadn't heard that about kids in China. I knew they potty trained early, but the whole hole in the pants thing is awesome lol. I find it fascinating how different cultures do things.

I also agree with @doodleoodle that every kid is just different. DS could not have cared less about being wet or dirty at any point in his life.  Diaper, pull up, underwear didn't matter, he didn't give a sh*t 😆. We were always constantly having to check him.
  • @artsiefartsie DD1 was like that. She’d get up off the couch, or off the floor from playing and would just reek of pee or poo. So gross lol
  • Sorry I've been a little MIA the last week or so... it's been more chaotic than usual :#

How far along are you? 14 + 4

    Any new symptoms? Nothing new

Any appointments recently or coming up? How did it go? Had an OB appt last week with a quick peek at the babies otherwise nothing fancy... nothing now for 4 weeks which will be weird to go so long this pregnancy

How many kids do you already have, and how old are they? 5.5 and 3

How are your other kids doing this week? My daughters school had their first positive Covid case and it was in my daughters class ugh. The teacher and all the rest of the kids tested negative but they're now in quarantine for 10 days and have to do zoom for the 1st time after having been in person all year. My son got to start at his new special Ed preschool last week and minus one of the teachers I love them all so far (the last one I'm still trying to feel out). On top of that my FIL had a mild heart attack last week and my husband had to fly back home to be with his family. He's having surgery tomorrow and not sure how long my husband plans to stay so I'm flying solo this week

Concerns/Questions: when's everyone's  anatomy scans? My MFM is doing an early one at 18 weeks and then again at 22... not sure if this is normal for twins or not

GTKY: What’s the furthest you’ve been from home? Went to China for 10 days in business school... by day 8 I was ready for some different food!

Re potty training: with my daughter we had to have her trained prior to preschool starting when she was 2.5 (while in maternity leave). She was fairly easy and highly motivated with m&ms haha. With my son I haven't even started thinking about it because he's so far from ready so I'm guessing I'll end up with 3 in diapers.

That's interesting about the Chinese training... I'm just picturing a lot of messes around the house to clean up ugh

  • @kbonita285 ready for different food?! Omg I miss Chinese food so much, I literally didn't even know where my dorm kitchen was because eating out was so cheap and delicious... My sisters visited me a year in and asked me where my pot was. I looked at them like a deer caught in headlights, because I didn't own one 😶
  • @marbellie don't get me wrong, I love Chinese food and it all tasted great but after a week I was ready for some pasta or a burger lol
  • My youngest potty trained at 32mo. All three of mine have potty trained at 2 1/2 give or take a few months. By week 2 he was good to go. He’s now 3yrs 3mo and has been fully night trained for at least 4mo.

The key is to just wait till they are ready. Then prepare them by talking about it A LOT. Then having no reaction when they pee all over the floor lol. At least that’s the short list of what has worked for us. I tried to potty train my oldest 3 times before he got it. When he finally had it down he was no longer having accidents by day three. Waiting is such a huge part of it!
