Ugh there are SO many! I even want to return to places I’ve already been too. Thailand and Australia are two of the bigger ones as well as lots of American cities but I’m going with Florence. I’ve already been and it’s beautiful but I want to return for such a petty reason (besides that it’s beautiful). So there’s this hog statue in Florence, and you’re meant to rub it’s nose and roll a coin down it’s husk or something (I can’t quite remember) but basically if it rolls a certain way, it means you’ll return to Florence one day and if it rolls another way, it means you won’t. Mine rolled the way saying I won’t return. So I want to go back and say HA proved you wrong, stupid hog!
I think I want to go to southern Italy (with the exception of stopping in Bologna, because I’m determined to not only eat all the bolognese I can muster, but convince someone to teach me a recipe as well) next time, and probably Greece as well.
I’d really like to visit every Disney park in the world. Outside of that, my husband lived in Italy for several years so I think it would be nice to take a family trip there.
@RoseShadow873 I considered moving there at the start of COVID but they had already closed their borders to our kind 🤣😭 the government sent me a note and kicked me off the wait-list. I mean it was an on the whim decision, but still.
@mayoduck when we go to Iceland I'm totally going to do one night rental in those glass igloo rooms to hopefully sleep under the northern lights
My next bucket list trip will be to Hawaii, I think. It isn't my dream spot but I've never been and it is super quick and cheap to get to from Alaska (compared to the lower 48). Not a beach lounger but I want to get out a hike the trails, go snorkeling, eat at the hole in the wall joints... just be a local for a week or so.
But I'd love to go Ireland, Germany, New Zealand... all the places. Been on a few military plane stopovers but that definitely isn't
having kids has killed the travel bug in me! On the other hand, my husband who always hated traveling seems to have been bitten by the travel bug. We are planning to do some countryside traveling this summer. Hope my bump doesn’t get in the way!
Oh all the places! But up first is the Maldives! I fell in love with pictures of the crystal clear water and bungalows right on the water where you could see the fish through the floor. Just seems awesome. AND a super close friend just sent me their wedding save the date for Dec 2022 in the Maldives!! You KNOW I’m already plotting how to go there with or without the kiddos. At minimum I’ll bring this second babe since they’ll only be a little over 1...but we’ll see. Ideal scenario is my mom can come and watch the kids when I’m not doing wedding stuff.
Also Zanzibar and Madagascar because I love traveling around Africa- it gets a bad wrap but there so many beautiful places to visit! Australia and New Zealand bc I have friends there I haven’t seen in forever and I just like flying to far away places.
I’d love to go back to Maui too, we lived in Sedona for two years and I’d love to go back there too.
We are pretty big travelers (we have thousands of dollars in vouchers for canceled plane tickets from last spring/summer). We were supposed to be in Berlin with a few trips to Greece over summer 2020. I see that Greece is on a few people's list and hell yeah! Greece is the best. I think once we are allowed to properly travel again I would like to take a vacation with just DH to the Caribbean or Mexico. Just go somewhere completely relaxing - leave the kids with the grandparents, take a not too long flight, and just chill. That's what I am dreaming of.
Re: GTKY 4/29 - Travel
Due: 6 Nov 2021
USA: with kids then Arizona, just with DH would be Vegas
International: Greece. The cost of villas are so cheap and look so gorgeous
