Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a hot wheels car!
Upcoming appointments: first scan tomorrow!!!!
How are you feeling?: better than I was. As I mentioned, I was in a bit of a bad funk this week but I’m feeling better now....emotionally. I was doing really well physically for awhile and today my stomach was just like NOPE! Constipation, diarrhea (didn’t even know you could have both at once), nausea, AND vomiting. And fatigue. Oof.
Rants/Raves: DH and FIL have been busy all weekend building our pergola and decking area. The frame for the pergola is up and it looks SO good! Will post before and afters once it’s complete!
Questions: I definitely had one but I’ve forgotten now 🤷🏻♀️
GTKY: what does your perfect room look like? Lots of natural light but not blinding lol good amount of foliage but not overwhelming. Comfy. Think earthy-rustic-chic
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: My app says gherkin pickle... but I like the hot wheels car better @jackie_dunny
Upcoming appointments: First trimester scan is Thursday!! I'm so excited! I felt pretty dissatisfied with the quality of my scan a few weeks back and I'm excited to get more information about how baby is doing.
How are you feeling?: Hip aches at night (though a pillow between my legs and the ability to still sleep on my back has made this doable for now), I also seem to be getting weekly migraines which completely take me out of commission. Most of the time though, I feel more-or-less like my usual self so I think I'm pretty lucky all things considered.
Rants/Raves: @Starynightsky24 SO with you on the allergies! My seasonal allergies had actually been ok the last few years so I'm not sure if we have extra tree pollen in the air this year or if it's the pregnancy hormones and immune system that has my nose feeling itchy CONSTANTLY. Yuck! I'm ready for summer!
Questions:
GTKY: what does your perfect room look like? Ooh, I like the descriptions so far. Natural light, decorated with plants and otherwise pretty simple, tidy, and CLEAN.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: strawberry
Upcoming appointments: May
How are you feeling?: Tired and starving. The lack of nausea once again has me worried
Rants/Raves: I’m still too tired to do either lol
Questions:
GTKY: what does your perfect room look like? So, I’m going to cheat and say a large paver stoned, covered patio with multiple ceiling fans, comfy earth toned outdoor furniture. The patio would extend well beyond the patio roof and at the edge there would be a large stone fireplace with built in ledge seating on either side. And plenty of privacy trees around.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: passion fruit or plum. I’ll go with passion fruit bc they are sooo delicious.
Upcoming appointments: not until May 7th 😫
How are you feeling?: super sleepy. Stomach cramps and hip aches ( but overall MUCH better in terms of HG symptoms!! Only down to one medication so hoping in a couple weeks or sooner I’ll be just another pregnant lady and not a pregnant zombie. Of course am a little worried now that I’m feeling better (so much sooner than I did with DD) that something might be wrong w the baby. There’s just no peace sigh.
Rants/Raves: can’t wait to be feeling completely better so I can start organizing the house. We moved in in March but I was already floored by then so the house has been basically half unpacked since then and now that I’m slowly venturing out of the bedroom it’s starting to bother me!
Questions: what brand/type of home Doppler do you recommend? Thinking of getting one.
GTKY: what does your perfect room look like? Like @jackie_dunny perfect room is earthy rustic chic vibe. plants, decent light, comfortable seating with amazing blankets and cushions (but not cluttered), spacious, clean. Anthropologie meets west elm.
Upcoming appointments: May. I get a nice break for a couple of weeks.
How are you feeling?: Better, but its almost making the sick days more of a pain. So thankful for the breaks, but hate when the nausea comes roaring back after a good day.
Rants/Raves: Just thankful that I heard the heartbeat on my home doppler this morning. It is always such a sigh of relief
Questions:
GTKY: what does your perfect room look like?
I don't have a perfect room so much as I have a perfect house and it is an exact replica of the house from Practical Magic 😆
How are you feeling?: Nausea and fatigue are intense right now. I havent had any vomiting, but I almost wish I could if it would make the nausea ease off. I get nauseous on an empty stomach, a full stomach, drinking water. I've heard the next couple weeks are the toughest symptom wise so Im just trying to make it through!
Rants/Raves: I dont know how ya'll STM's do it. I cant imagine having to take care of a little one feeling this lousy!
Questions:
GTKY: what does your perfect room look like?
We actually just bought a fixer upper. My style seems to be like everyone else's, i like clean, minimalism, natural light. Kind of modern farmhouse.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: southern pecan or eastern tailed butterfly
Upcoming appointments: may 7th (NIPT draw too)
How are you feeling?: Pretty good, just a little tired and unmotivated to do chores or workout
Rants/Raves: I had to take this 24 hour pee test for my OBGYN so they can check my proteins (to see if I'm starting to get high blood pressure, which happened after 40 weeks with DS), and omg! I was driving 1 handed, holding onto a damn (covered) pee bucket and getting so lost. I had to laugh at myself halfway through the journey
Questions: how's everyone doing with household chores? Ugh I'm lucky to do my typical daily cleaning 3 times a week. MH has been picking u the slack.... Technically, but he doesn't clean everything the way I do. Just does dishes and calls it good
GTKY: what does your perfect room look like?
Vaulted ceilings, clean and modern furnishings with organizational touches EVERYWHERE. I want the to be a place for everything and everything in it's place
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 13 weeks (tomorrow, close enough)
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Lemon
Upcoming appointments: With my hand surgeon, tomorrow. I have two more infusions this week, as well.
How are you feeling?: Meh.
Rants/Raves: Meh.
Questions: ...meh.
GTKY: what does your perfect room look like? Calm. Fluffy white duvet and plentiful dreamy pillows, dimmed lamp lighting, candles, cats, soft instrumental music through wall and ceiling speakers, a cozy reading chair and ottoman, and a permanent hint of lavender scent always lingering in the air.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: A Lego person! Apparently 🙂
Upcoming appointments: First appointment with the OBGYN this Thursday. Finally. I feel like not having one in this town made me feel anxious.
How are you feeling?: Pretty sad and lonely and generally not enjoying life. Can't find joy in things anymore. Just sad. Want to go home (to the UK) and get cuddles and watch movies with my mum. I'm thankful for therapy, and have another session this Tuesday.
Rants/Raves: trying to exercise to be healthy but after an hour I just want to sleep. Oh and if anyone suggests ginger for my HG again I might scream...
Questions: no questions. Just wish there was a chat group/slack channel/WhatsApp group for this forum. Sometimes I feel like having a rant and nowhere to turn since hardly anyone knows I'm pregnant... yet...
GTKY: what does your perfect room look like? TIDY. I have a beach house so sand is always an issue but thankfully have a wonderful cleaner. I have a ton of windows because natural light is so important to me. Plants galore but only the easy to care for ones (I want to be green fingered but alas non...).
@marbellie I don't follow any sort of *regular* cleaning schedule anymore so 3x a week is WAY impressive in my book. Since DS was born, I've fallen into a I'll-get-to-it-when-I-get-to-it mentality and sometimes that means I'm lucky if I do some vacuuming once a week. I don't even want to think about what my home is going to be like when baby 2 arrives. What's your secret?!
@mayoduck we used to have a cleaner come in every 2 weeks so all we used to have to do was maintain, but at the start of the pandemic I made up a simple daily/weekly/monthly cleaning schedule and focused a lot on picking up throughout the day. The key things that really helped were unloading the dishwasher in the morning (so dirty dishes go in throughout the day), running a small laundry load every other day (and putting away that night), and making sure when I leave a room I always take something with me (to put things away).
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a Swedish fish
Upcoming appointments: May 12. It feels good to be on the 4 week schedule after more frequent pregnancy after loss check ins
How are you feeling?: Getting back my energy slowly, and more less nausea. Maybe TMI but I am horny as I have ever been and it's driving me nuts
Rants/Raves: This second baby belly pop is SO MUCH earlier then with my son. Nothing fits and I wasn't prepared to need maternity clothes so soon (and I gave mine all away when we moved cross-country), so it just feels suddenly like I went from normal person to PREGNANT LADY.
GTKY: what does your perfect room look like? -- I basically wish I live in a ski cabin, so it would be all wood floors, stone fireplaces, plush couches with plaid blankets, bookshelves and huge windows.
Re: Weekly Check-in 4/25
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a cherry I think
Upcoming appointments: not till mid May
How are you feeling?: tired haha. My allergies are not happy with all the pollen right now which isn’t helping either
Rants/Raves: did I mention the pollen? We are leaving for the beach this week though so I’m excited for that
Questions:
GTKY: what does your perfect room look like? Light, roomy, minimal, and clean lol
