1 CP in March '21

Status: Waiting for AF so I can start charting a new cycle.

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? It's okay. I was hoping that by some fluke I would get pregnant this month even though we weren't really trying, but alas.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? I suspect AF is coming on Wednesday. I tested yesterday and got a BFN.

GTKY: name a weird/goofy quirk you have. I like to use things from the back of my cupboards or drawers that aren't really used, just due to their location. Like I'll take a dish from the bottom of the stack if it hasn't been used in a while, or grab a pair of underwear from the back of a drawer, as to make them feel included and not hurt their feelings. Does anyone else do this, or are you normal?

@fifilala516 That's SO funny. Like, I'm not laughing at you in THAT way - I'm giggling because I feel like I've done a similar thing, but I can't remember with what type of thing. Oh! I just remembered, that happened THIS MORNING! Haha. I have a coffee that I really love, and the others are just ok, and I went to grab my favorite but looked at the others and decided to go with another because I felt like I was giving too much love to my favorite. Like I should treat them all equally.

Status: Transferring an embryo today  

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well?  The anniversary of the TFMR came and went without much emotion... well, with less emotion than I expected, let's say that. Otherwise I've been doing really well! I went to a work friend's baby shower over the weekend at the beach and it was so nice seeing my friends from work (I haven't worked there in 4 years, but we still try to see each other for events like this). And then yeah, the transfer today. It feels like I've been waiting so long for this. I just feel so optimistic and I'm really trying to curb that a bit, just to not be so disappointed if it doesn't work, but I'm an optimistic person by nature. 

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Pregnancy test in 9 days!

GTKY: name a weird/goofy quirk you have.  I can only think of one. If I'm eating food with my hands (burger, fries, tacos, stuff like that) I have to put the food down and wipe my hands after every single bite I take.

@Lisa3379 Good luck today!! Obviously I hope this works out for you and you sail into the sunset, but just remember that you have *five* euploid embryos-- so the chances you are pregnant in 9 days are great-- like 60-70% I think! But the chances you are pregnant in 3 months are like 99%. So you're in great hands-- just let the process do it's thing. And get some rest!!

@bumblebee0210 Really? There's a connection between the amount of embryos fertilized and the likelihood of successful pregnancy with one of them? That's interesting. My baby shower friends (haha) asked about the odds of it working, and I'm like, yeah, I have no clue  Thanks for the well wishes!

@Lisa3379 No it's just that any given euploid embryo has a 60-70% chance of pregnancy, and with three or more you have like a 99% chance of a pregnancy

ETA: What I mean is-- you have a really good chance of this transfer working, but you have a really, really, really good chance of *a* transfer working. So the chances you will be pregnant in 9 days are really good, and the chances you will be pregnant in 3 months are really, really, really good. I guess I just mean good luck, but even if this one doesn't work you are in great shape!

@bumblebee0210 Ahhh, I get it. I've tried looking up the percentages before with all the variables (age, etc) and I go cross-eyed, haha!

@Lisa3379 I am a huge math nerd, and thus spent a lot of time making spreadsheets of how many embryos give what percent chance of how many live births. I envy both your batch of embryos and your ability not to sweat the details!

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? Kinda horrible, but whatever. I've been feeling down and emotional for the last week. I couldn't even hope it was from being KU because last Friday was only 4dpo so there's no way that could explain it. Doing a lot better after spilling my guts on FB about what we've been dealing with for the last 4 years. I have yet to read anybody's FB comments except 1 thread.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? At this point I might opt to not test this cycle. AF expected Monday. We'll see. Possibly Saturday or Sunday morning.

GTKY: name a weird/goofy quirk you have. You know, I come up with these when I post the thread on Mondays depending on what I'm thinking about at the time and I had a silly one, but at this point I have no idea what it was. Similar to @fifilala516 I'm all about making sure everything gets evenly used. DH when he puts the dishes away will just stack it on top. Same with the silverware. Drives me nuts! I try to rotate through all my clothes but I've noticed I have plenty of shirts I never care to wear and don't know why I've never just decided to toss them in the trash since it's wasted space in my closet.

@inthewoods23. I'm sorry you're feeling crappy, friend. It comes and goes in weird ways, and anniversaries in particular can be a real gut punch. I basically cannot read the "grad check-ins" because there is another person who was pregnant with twins at the same time as me (also girls) and hers will have now arrived I think. It's too hard to see it vicariously. Did you guys set and end date for trying naturally? I know you have 4 embies on ice, and I'm wondering if you're considering another transfer.

It's been hard at times knowing my sister was due late April (just birthed her yesterday actually!), a cousin is due in maybe 2 weeks, and then I was supposed to be due early June. And a coworker's wife is due sometime in June (presumably mid-late June based on when he announced at work). It's just really sad to know you were supposed to have a baby around the same age as the ones that will be here soon or are already here. So seeing them will be like "I should have one the same age as you".

Originally I never liked the idea of my sister and I being pregnant at the same time because I don't like the idea of being compared or having to share... idk my mom's time? But when it happened, I was actually really excited at the idea of doing a bump comparison photo at Christmas since I would have been about 16 weeks and she 22 as a STM.

I still have the hope of providing the first grandson though! My sister has 2 girls now.

We really have never talked about and end date for trying naturally at this point. With the surprise pregnancy it was just a shock that oh, this can actually happen! I've been having some doubt lately simply because it's cycle 5 AL and it was 5 cycles until that pregnancy (April-September) so I'm putting this pressure on myself that it happened in 5 cycles last time so this one should too. In my head though, I've thought maybe if we do go another full year of no success then we'll talk with the RE and get a transfer on the schedule.
