*TW* Spotting/Bleeding/Threatened Loss Support

I have seen some other BMBs include this type of support thread, so I thought I would add it here for us too.

This thread is to support anyone experiencing spotting and/or bleeding. 

Conversations surrounding these issues can be discussed here freely. The TW in the title applies for the whole thread. Please beware of reading ahead if you think you might be triggered by conversations about spotting/bleeding. 

Finally, remember that most of us are not medical professionals, and even if we were, it's always best to call/visit your doctor with questions or concerns. Feel free to ask questions and voice concerns, but please do not expect anyone here to be able to offer you anything but support. The most important thing to do is to call your doctor. They can offer answers; we can offer support.

My spotting is continuing.  It has gotten worse.  I am waiting for a call back from my OB.  I have tried not to freak out about it since I spotted with my daughter, but it's hard now that it's getting worse.  I am going to pull away from this group a bit until my appointment just because I have found myself getting depressed and withdrawn, so this is just me explaining my lack of engagement until I have confirmation one way or another.

I have been bleeding and now spotting since conception. Trying to stay optimistic🙂 My first U/S isn't until May 5th. Hope they can at least tell me whats going on in there. Waiting sucks😝

@ottergirl81 that is a long wait for your first ultrasound! I’m sorry they can’t get you in sooner. Spotting can definitely be completely normal so hang in there!

Thank you all for the support.  Waiting until wednesday is going to be a LONG wait for me.  My OB didn't seem concerned (hence why my appointment wasn't moved up), so I'm trying to relax a bit, but easier said than done.  Just trying to keep busy. 

@ottergirl81 sorry you've been spotting too.  Hoping for both of us it's just our bodies doing weird things and that babes are healthy. I can barely wait until wednesday next week, may 5 seems like an eternity away!

I had some spotting yesterday and the day before so I’m going in for follow up BW either today or tomorrow (now that my Covid test is negative and my cough is no longer obnoxious).

@blueowl08 I got my positive at only something like 2 weeks along, so waiting a few weeks really does feel like an eternity to find anything out.

Hi everyone, currently going through a threatened miscarriage and the negative pregnancy test this morning tells me my results I’m getting today won’t be what I want to hear. Wishing you all a happy and healthy with beautiful sticky babies ❤️

I haven't updated yet, even though my appointment was yesterday, because it did not go exactly as I hoped.  I did not get the reassurance i needed.  The NP wasn't able to find a heartbeat, but was quick to tell me that their equipment is ancient and not the best, so they sometimes have this issue.   She said everything else looked great, though.  My anxiety is through the roof.  I am scheduled for an ultrasound tomorrow at 3:30 (the earliest they had).  Waiting this long for an OB appointment just to be told they can't find a heartbeat, and waiting an additional 2 days to know what is actually going on is really stressful.

Thank you all.  The good news: the ultrasound today detected a HB of 163.  The bad news:  baby is measuring only 7 weeks 4 days, and I am 8 weeks 2 days since my LMP.  I did technically ovulate 2-3 days late, but I still think measuring almost a week behind is scary.  The ultrasound tech said I should hear from my doc within a few business days, and will likely follow up with a growth ultrasound in a week or 2.  So, one question answered only to be left with more questions and more waiting.  My anxiety is really taking over but I am trying with all my might just to be grateful that we saw a heartbeat.  But I find myself distancing myself from this baby, and told my husband today I dont even feel like it's a baby.  I think I'm trying to protect myself.

@scaredunprepared I’m lurking from October but measuring within a week is totally normal and if you know you ovulated late it sounds like you’re measuring within a couple days. Sounds like it was a very good appt..I understand being nervous but try to be glad about that heartbeat!

@scaredunprepared - That's an awesome heartbeat! Maybe you implanted a little late along with ovulating a little late? I understand protecting yourself. I would likely do the same. Praying your next u/s shows perfect growth and you'll go on to have an uneventful, healthy pregnancy.

Welp, I started bleeding today. It’s bright red. I already have my u/s scheduled for Monday, so I’m just going to wait and see what they say.

@scaredunprepared I'm so happy to hear your good news and heartbeat 💓. I think its also normal to distance yourself but I also think measuring a week behind is okay especially since you think you ovulated late. I know exactly when I ovulated and when my LMP was and I was measuring a week ahead. I don't think there is an exact science and it's just mother nature. Praying your next U/S goes well.

@scaredunprepared I’m so glad you received good news. I too agree with @cait32, there’s also a level of human error involved with scans. Even a millimeter difference can throw the dates off by several days. Hopefully you get reassurance at the next scan!
