R/R: Happy to be settling back into the swing of things after spring break. I think I've finally gotten through all my work e-mails! The weather in Chicagoland has been gorgeous and it finally feels like Spring is here to stay. With that comes house and yardwork, which I'm super excited about! Finally clearing out the landscaping rock in the backyard that I've hated since we moved in 5 years ago. Going to spade edge and plant new shrubs, flowers, trees and mulch where the rock used to be. It will be a nice little facelift. I also have 6 blush pink peony bushes that usually bloom in May so hoping they come in with no issues, last year they had a fungus. DH has built some raised garden beds so excited to get some veggies and herbs planted, basil especially my favorite!
@misspricklepants Hooray for spring! Your gardening plans sound serious! I wish I had a greener thumb.
Month/Cycle: 16/15
CD/DPO: 24/12
Timing: doesn't matter
Typical LP length: 15-17 days depending on when I stop progesterone
Testing: BFNs left right and center
R/R: Well, this cycle is a confirmed bust. All progesterone-related symptoms have disappeared and no other symptoms have replaced them. So, even when ovulating 4 eggs, MHs sperm can't seem to find one. I'm really bummed, not gonna lie. I sent off an e-mail to my doctor this morning asking what's next; we'll see what she says. I'm really feeling skipping a cycle while we wait for MHs ASA results; we took a chance this cycle not waiting for that test, but I don't want to go through another IUI without confirmation.
I guess the upside (according to MH, anyways) is that now our would-be kids stand a chance at becoming NHL players! (And for those of you who are thinking 'huh? wtf is she on?" it's a reference from Malcom Gladwell's book Outliers where he talks about how NHL has a bias towards players born in the first 3 months of the year (because of training/camp enrollment cut-off).
@acleverusername I'm so sorry about the BFN and about having to regroup. I don't blame you wanting to wait for his test to come back. Hopefully you get some answers and a path forward soon.
@misspricklepants OOh! Your landscaping plans sound so fun! Would love to see pics
@misspricklepants Congrats on getting through all those emails! Your yard sounds so lovely. Good luck getting that spring work going!
@acleverusername I am so so sorry about the BFNs. It’s such a frustrating feeling not knowing what’s going on. It sounds good to wait for YH’s results and regroup with your doctor. Sending you (((hugs))). P.S. I got your reference right away, great attitude towards the situation.😉 Malcolm Gladwell was the keynote speaker at a charity event I went to years ago. He made a strong case for late-born children overall: Being the oldest in their class gives them plenty of time to advance developmentally so that they become the best at sports, academics, emotional maturity, etc.
Month/Cycle: 35/who knows
CD/DPO: 24/10 This has felt like the longest cycle ever for some reason.
Timing: -2 + IUI, -1
Typical LP length: 13ish
Testing: Betas this week, feeling ambivalent. Dr wants to see my progesterone, estradiol, & TSH levels to see if we need to supplement more next time.
R/R: Rant: All symptoms I was having disappeared this morning. Rave: A new work contract started recently and it’s going well so far.
CS/Q: Temps have been dropping. Woke up very early today to go get an infusion so temps may be unreliable.
Edited spacing. WTH is going on w TB spacing?! It’s always something glitchy with this service.....
@keikilove sorry to hear that your symptoms disappeared; I’m in the same boat. Sigh. Is your doctor having you test progesterone late in luteal phase? Have you ever taken estrogen for LP support?
