Early Pregnancy Complication Question - Blighted Ovum?

Hi All.

I am maybe 5-6 weeks pregnant, still not sure the exact  date. I had mild spotting last week on Thursday and went in for an ultrasound - they said they saw a gestational sac but no baby. They said its possible I am just too early to see baby. They did my HCG and progesterone labs on Thursday at 4:30pm and they were 23.30 and HCG was 5436, they redrew them at 8am on Saturday and they came back at 23.70 and HCG was 8567. The doctor said he would have preferred for the HCG to double. Anyone have any insight for me? Does this sound negative? Or have you been something similar before that you could give me wisdom on. They have scheduled me for an ultrasound to confirm in two weeks and that just seems so long.
