I'll start with a confession (of sorts) perhaps this is more an UO, I would prefer for all board members to have profile pics. It's so much easier to remember people that way.

Along that same vein, I get mildly annoyed when someone's work email doesn't have their contact information in their signature block.

@marbellie For the profile pics, I don't disagree. I tried to change mine but I didn't see the option when I tried to do so. I use the website and not the mobile app.

I don’t have a real FFFC. I’m lame. But this is as good a place to put this as any. I can’t stop thinking about how much less traffic the boards seem to be getting. There used to be hundreds of users on the birth month boards. Anyone know what’s up with that?

It's quiet sad how much less traffic, I really wonder why. I lurked since having DS in 2019 and I think covid was the initial downturn in users and I think it just hasn't picked back up. I know birth rate hit a near record low last year, but I think it was just like a 2 percent decrease 🤔

My FFFC is that I have to google or search the abbreviation list for all of these short forms 😂 as a newbie, maybe that’s part of why the boards have less activity? It can be confusing.

It’s definitely down. I haven’t been on in a awhile for no particular reason other than the last time I jumped in I had a loss. I think there are just so many social media avenues now that message boards are less popular than they once were. I’m sure there’s a Reddit thread or something for this stuff too. I like it a little bit. I feel it’s easier to keep up with responses and get to know everyone a little better 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s definitely better than the other end of the spectrum. There’s another site (which I won’t mention by name because I think it’s against tou) and they have literally thousands of posters in that birth month board. It’s chaos- nothing but one off posts. I can’t help but wonder what the actual point is because there’s no way anyone gets to know anyone. But this group, is rather cozy and if most everyone sticks around it will be like a real group of friends. So that is nice.

@doodleoodle I know exactly what you’re talking about. It’s mass chaos. I do scroll it because sometimes it can be entertaining, but definitely no actual friendships forming.

I can't help but think there was an intentional move away from promoting tb community.  I don't think it's a money maker for them, so they've stifled a lot, and buried the community pages, so you really have to look for the boards now. :/

@usedtobeknottie there is an FAQ page I think they have linked on the TTGP board, if I can find it here quickly I will post the link... ;)

I too like to scroll the other forum just for entertainment purposes 😆. I'm a big fan of the smaller more intimate group we have here.

If we're all talking about the same forum it is truly crazy and entertaining over there. Though I used to hate being assailed with photos of "is this implantation bleeding/fertile CM/etc." 🤢 Thankfully most have a filter to blur the pics now 😂

@jackie_dunny @BusinessWife haha thanks, I did see those and I use the glossary. I’ve had a lot of bouncing back and forth until it’s memorized and familiar, just my personal experience though. I’m sure it’s second nature after some time.

@BusinessWife  I agree! It really is hard to find the birth month groups. When I had my first baby in 2013 the boards were huge and active and easy to find. By 2016 when I was pregnant with my 3rd they were becoming less big, because of so many other options. 

But I’ve made some really good friends from my previous 3 groups. So I’m excited I finally found this group after digging 🙌🏻

@marbellie It's actually French shorthand for "mademoiselle". My username was originally amostpeculiarmademoiselle but it was so long it ran into the text of my posts so I shortened it.

Oh cool, are you a French speaker? That's my husband's first language and we're considering moving to french Canada in a couple years

ETA: I'm not a French speaker, though I did study it in highschool and college
