@mindyb2019, hopefully not much if a group is drama free! Usually just set up the group and vet anyone who wants to be in the FB group. But if there’s more drama, then that’s more work. My BMB was drama free until we imploded and the new spin off is 100% drama free. So I don’t do much really!

@legallykate am I remembering correctly that our Aug18 group had 2 FB groups. Maybe 1 was unofficial and started really early. I feel like there was some drama there. It’s all a blur.

@laurad75 Yes A18 had two, I was only ever in the smaller/early one, the bigger one seemed way too overwhelming to me, so I am glad we are looking at a relatively small group here too.

There was a lot of drama in my 2019 BMB board. This seems like a good group that hopefully we won’t have that problem here

So what does the timeline look like for moving to FB?

We are working on creating the private group now so once it is all set we can start the process of moving over. 😊

all sounds good! is this group by invitation only, so that only some of us on this board are allowed to join?

I'm only asking because in my past 2 BMB's they ran it that way and for some reason I never made the cut and I lost all the support I had here

@mrs_massie my understanding is that the admins will let us know exactly what the process is to request to join the private group. They will admit people based on who they recognize as a contributing member.

@mrs_massie I think it is up to the group what the criteria are. The idea mentioned in the admin chat following the lead of April 2021 is creating a post for people to express their interest in joining. Mamas would simply comment "I'd like to join" or "Me" that they are interested in joining the private group to enter the voting process. Then June 2021 BMB would be able to give Love Its. 5 Love Its from fellow bumpies that have come to recognize you as a 'regular', contributing member to the group would mean you would receive a PM with the FB group information. Does that make sense? I think the main goal is to not have random lurkers trying to join the group, not base this on a popularity contest of who posts the most. 

If people don't like that method, I'm sure we can come up with something else. The Facebook group is hidden, so the only way to find it is with an email invitation from an admin to help with any privacy concerns people have. The admins would also require photographic proof that people are who they say they are IRL.
