Transitioning out of sleep suit

My LO turned 6 months this week and he isn’t fitting in the 6-9 month baby Merlin’s magic sleep suit so great anymore. He’s over the max weight of 21 lbs now. He loves the suit and he’s so easy to lay down for naps and bedtime in the suit. Has anyone had luck transitioning out of this sleep suit? If so, how did you do it and did you use a different type of sleep suit or wearable blanket? Any advise is appreciated!
