Re: Product Spotlight: Bath Time w/o 3-1

  • I got a baby bath tub second hand with a newborn insert.  I hated using it so much.  After about 2 weeks I just started bringing him into the regular bathtub with me and washed him on my chest.  It was so much better than using the baby tub.
  • Loading the player...
  • We used the 4moms infant tub with the thermometer with DS but I don't think they make that anymore. We will use it again for this one for early baths at the kitchen sink.

I want to get the Angle Care bath for this one so they can sit in the tub with DS.

  • I have pretty much hated all newborn bathtubs and accessories. I mostly hate the amount of space they take up and my kitchen is never tidy enough to give sink baths. We have a 4moms infant tub that we will use - it's fine, but once baby is around 1 month we just shower with them. Usually DH gets in the shower, I hand him baby, he does a quick wash, hands baby back to me and we're done! This works well for us as it's super quick. Once they can consistently sit up independently I start just doing baths in the big tub and we have a removable anti-slip mat. I honestly hate bathing kids though..we started getting DS1 to take showers when he was about 3 years old and now he's 5 and showers almost entirely independently.
  • I have a collapsible bathtub that can hang in the closet and out of the way when baby outgrows it. I have had it for 7 years now and I still love it because it’s not something that is in my way when it needs to be stored. It has an incline for the newborn stage and then that pops down for when they can sit up. I used to bathe with my second baby every night but after that I just didn’t have time to get in the bath while still needing to take care of my other kiddos and get everyone ready for bed. I typically put my kids in my big bathtub in my bathroom and let them play while I bathe the baby and then I get the other kids bathed and dressed for bed. Or I do it the other way around if baby is typically pissed after baths.

  • We had the boon three stage one for our last son, but I gave it away. I didn't like the space it took up, but we have a huge counter in the guest room so it was convenient it fit up there and we could bath him while standing. That counter isn't as clear as it used to be now that we have a kid using that bathroom, so we'll see if we're able to do that again.

  • We have a newborn bathtub and I used it until DS2 could sit up. Then I got a seat that squiggies to the tub so I could give the boys a bath at the same time. Admittedly DS2 got less baths as a baby vs DS1 lol
  • We only have showers in our house, so I bought this ridiculous rice tub from the Chinese grocery store five years ago to use as a bath tub. It was $10. It has lasted through two toddlers so far and sometimes the dog. We are so classy around here!
  • We just have the basic baby bathtub and change to the regular bathtub once they can sit up.  Picked it up from a garage sale.

    • What you like about it:  I like having a small tub for when baby is small and floppy. Our bathroom sinks are shallow and the kitchen is too breezy for me. I feel like we use way less water when we we're not using the regular bath tub, too. DS was super clingy (sigh, actually still is) at my shower time so up until a year old, I'd stick him in this tub at the back of the shower after his bath and let him keep playing while I showered.

  • We have the summer infant 3 stage. Once they can sit up I just use the regular tub, you can even place the insert part in the regular tub and just do that.

But i second bathing with your newborn on your chest. It's a good bonding experience!
