1 loss discovered at 7.5 week ultrasound - suspected blighted ovum

    Status: technically benched, but NTNP

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well?
I'm kind of enjoying not tracking anything this cycle. No temping, no OPKs, just relaxing and not thinking about anything. I had the trigger of realizing that I should've been hitting my second trimester this week which definitely was hard. My mental health has been kinda crappy this past week too but I think a major factor in that is that I'm feeling burned out. I just gotta get through this week and then I get 5 days off which will be very needed. I'll be getting my second covid vaccine next week too.

Any testing coming up/any recent results?
    Nope

    Questions? None at the moment

GTKY: What's your favorite "it's cold as f*ck outside" or crappy weather meal to make?
Mmm I've got several crock pot soup recipes that I love in this weather. Tomato basil tortellini, creamy chicken gnocchi, broccoli cheddar, loaded baked potato, chicken wing, or French onion are my go to soups.

  • @gingermama29 the thought of "I should be this far along now" never gets easier :( I'm feeling so left behind. Hope you can push through and get to your 5 days off! Sounds like you deserve it. I'm already regretting this GTKY because all those soups sound tasty!

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? Things have been okay. Keep trying to tell myself that not BDing on O day this cycle isn't the end of the word even though I feel like it is. Supposedly that was fine for our successful cycle so why am I so worried?

Any testing coming up/any recent results? 10dpo is Sunday, Valentines day. Even if I get disappointed with a BFN it's not like I'd really be ruining the holiday. We never do anything special. It's likely going to be the same old thing getting Bonefish Grill takeout :D

    Questions? NATM

GTKY: What's your favorite "it's cold as f*ck outside" or crappy weather meal to make? I love making chicken soup or italian beef sandwiches. Chicken piccata used to be a common labor of love for comfort food but I'm not making that as much these days.

  • @gingermama29 Yay for a 5 day break soon! Hopefully you have some relaxing activities planned. And yay for your second Covid vaccine too! I'm about as non-essential as you get, so I still have a long wait for mine, haha,.

Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: number of loss(es), when you had the loss(es), diagnosis/conditions surrounding loss, etc.
TFMR at 15 weeks in April 2020, MC at 8 weeks in November 2020

Status: Waiting for my period after egg retrieval so I can start my transfer cycle

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? Things are going ok. I'm still kinda bloated from the procedure and everything, so a little uncomfortable. And impatient! IVF started off very fast and it's become a hurry up and wait type of thing.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Today we find out how many embryos made it to the 5 day mark. So nervous. Also waiting on our genetic testing results to see if my husband and I are carriers for something they should screen the embryos for.

    Questions? Nope

GTKY: What's your favorite "it's cold as f*ck outside" or crappy weather meal to make? I haven't really cooked in awhile - we get a bunch of Gobble meals a week - but I love making chili and cornbread.

@gingermama29 I’m sorry you’re having that. But as others said, you’re not alone. I often have the “I should be ... far along pop up in my head”. It was a nice surprise the other day when I opened an app I hadn’t since the MC and it say “you’re this many weeks...your baby is the size of a ...”. But hopefully the time off is helpful. That sounds amazing!

@inthewoods23 oh, how we stress over our timing. I feel you on that. Fingers crossed though.

@Lisa3379 I hope you get great news today with your embryos!

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? Things are ok. Over the weekend I kept having to rein my mind and thoughts back in. I kept just thinking ahead and planning as if I’m already pregnant. I don’t want to out too much pressure on myself 1 cycle back. So now I’ve gone the complete opposite and I’m convinced this wasn’t our cycle because the one night timing we missed. Oh how the mind goes to extremes and can’t just be content.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Going to try to wait to 2/17 (12dpo). Also still deciding about MH doing the karyotype testing.

Questions? Not that I can think of.

GTKY: What's your favorite "it's cold as f*ck outside" or crappy weather meal to make? Soups are definitely nice. But I also don’t cook...I love getting Thai food when it’s cold.

    Edited for spacing

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? I’m doing pretty well. I am hopefully ovulating in the next few days, so doing OPKs waiting to get that positive result. Any day now. I am pretty excited, but somewhat nervous to start trying again after the loss.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Just OPKs

    Questions? None

GTKY: What's your favorite "it's cold as f*ck outside" or crappy weather meal to make? Oh that’s easy, Jambalaya!!! Ahh, now I want some!
  • @gingermama29I'm sorry you're feeling that way. I have had that really badly with this past mmc, much more than my first. I think it's really normal, and expect that it will come and go, and pop up at weird moments you aren't expecting.

@inthewoods23. I do the some thing about timing (even with similar knowledge about what has worked in the past). MH has now gotten into it and decided we need to do every 12 hours during ovulation. Like... no.

@lisa3379 I saw your update in the IF thread and am so glad you had good results with the ER! (I am creepily following you because I think we are headed down the IVF-for-RPL road). Is there a reason they didn't transfer right away? Is it better for testing or something?

@sienna221 The planning is the worst. I will say it's been the worst for me after a loss, because I was *just* pregnant, so I haven't quite gotten used to the TTC mindset of "wait@rgn12
ee", but it's never easy, and it makes it so easy to get disappointed. I hope you don't hang around here long, but in my experience the contingency-thinking does lessen a bit with time.

@rgn12 GL! Hopefully you will be out of here soon.

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? I'm doing pretty well-- this was my first cycle using mira, and I have to say I really liked it. First, the LH surge was just really obvious and easy to read, and it also helped me clear up why other OPKs might not work well for me. My LH surge is just low-- it clearly surges, it just doesn't go super high so threshold-based tests are not as useful for me. Second, mira also tests estrogen, and mine is basically useless. It was high the whole cycle, and bounced around a bunch. It did surge around ovulation but basically at the same time as the LH, so really no useful information added. This could reflect something about my levels, or just the difficulty of testing urine estrogen, but it definitely clears up why I was always getting "high" right away with CBDA ( @sienna221 maybe this is true for you too??). That being said, it's really expensive, and I don't think it's necessary for anyone. I don't think it helped me time sex that much better, but I do think it was a lot less frustrating to use than OPKs for me.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Meeting with the RE a week from today, around when I am expecting my period. Excited/nervous/interested to see what she has to say...

    Questions?

GTKY: What's your favorite "it's cold as f*ck outside" or crappy weather meal to make? Soups and stews for sure.

  • @Lisa3379 welcome to the world of IF testing and procedures :D it's always a waiting game and it sucks. I've spent 10 months just doing testing or getting through BCP cycles before the active parts of the procedure processes since the first consult with the RE. That time period is between Sept 2018 - March 2020. Oye.

@sienna221 so freaking hard not to plan. I'm probably going to kick myself if I'm doing that anytime between now and however long it takes to finally make it to the 2nd tri period. I hope that's soon :frowning:

@rgn12 how are your OPKs looking? Getting pretty close?

@bumblebee0210 oh god no not every 12 hours! No thanks, that's too much lol. Does the Mira give you your actual estrogen numbers? Just curious what yours are.

  • @inthewoods23. On estrogen numbers-- yes and no. They do give you numbers (mine fluctuated between 140 and >400, and their typical threshold for "high" is 100), but these aren't equivalent to blood levels of E2. They measure E3G, which is a byproduct of E2 that is metabolized into the urine. For reference, though, my day-3 E2 level (this cycle) was 25, so it's not like I just have super-high estradiol all the time or something. I have a feeling a lot of signal is lost from blood to urine, but who knows. Putting the actual curves in the spoiler if you're curious.

  • Ahhhh I failed at coming back for tags this week.

@inthewoods23 enjoy your Valentine's date. I hope you get a BFP today!!

@Lisa3379 I hope you got good news about your embryos!

@sienna221 ttc is such a mindf*ck. I hope your timing was good enough though.

@rgn12 FX for a positive OPK soon!! Also I could totally go for some jambalaya! Yummm.

@bumblebee0210 I'm really glad mira worked better (and easier) for you than OPKs.
