WTO Wednesday 1/20

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. WAYDTGKU: BBT, OPKs when I remember to do it

R/R: My leg seems to be fine from my bike incident yesterday so that is a good thing. I’m excited to be home today and be able to watch the inauguration. We have a super short schedule with students today which I’m sure will be hectic (14 minute online classes) but then more PD and my time is my own after 12, so not much to complain about here. I really need to get to the store to pick up random stuff we need but I haven’t been able to muster up the motivation to go for 3 days now so I’m not sure today will be any different 😂. Maybe I’ll just order on Amazon...

    CS/Q: nothing to see

@fameonmain2 I have definitely ordered online/Amazon just because it's easier than getting bundled up for the cold and such. Safer option anyway right? Glad your leg is okay from your incident the other day. Sounded painful!

    Month/Cycle: 43/3 AL

WAYDTGKU: HIO, supplements, temping, OPKs, GF and DF diet

R/R: my cramps are awful this morning. I think they woke me up at some point too. Seems heavy today 🙄 ugh. Let's hope yoga tonight eases them a bit. I'm also dealing with stomach cramps from not eating that large of a meal for dinner so double whammy

    CS/Q: nothing exciting on CD1

@fameonmain2 I’m glad your leg is doing ok. And don’t beat yourself up too much about the pedals. How were you supposed to know!? MH mountain bikes frequently during the summer and he sometimes drags me along. I enjoy it but it’s not my passion (and I’m not very good at it lol). I’ve definitely gotten hurt by the pedals a few too many times.

@inthewoods23 Sorry about CD1 and the cramps. Hopefully the yoga will help. I know if I keep moving it seems to help on those crampy days. Sitting still makes it worse for me.

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

R/R: I heard back from my OB last night and she agreed to prescribe letrozole for next cycle. I’m so happy! I love my OB. She always provides so much detail, which helps my sciencey mind. I asked her opinion on a study that I found, and she went into a long explanation. Maybe I’ll share that on the IF thread later.

My other rave/rant (I don’t know what it is), is that I was looking at job openings in Ireland (it has always been my dream to move to Europe). And I found one that I’m qualified for, that’s basically doing exactly what I’m doing right now. I’m so attempted to apply! MH is having a rough time in his job right now, so having a reason to leave it might be nice for him… But, moving to a new job when we’re TTC just sounds like a disaster. I’m definitely more anxious than excited when thinking about it. So, because of that, I’m going to hold off on applying. If it’s meant to be then a different job a few years down the road will open up. But… damn! Ireland!

    CS/Q: nope

@fameonmain2 a half day sounds amazing! I didn’t see what happened to your leg since I’m just getting back to joining dailies...but I saw mountain biking and can only imagine it was painful. Glad it’s getting better.

@inthewoods23 CD1 buds I guess. Sorry yours came around but hoping 3rd cycle (back) is the charm.

@LJMoon6 Ireland sounds amazing! I always think it situations like that, why not just apply and see what happens..not like applying means you have to take it if they offer it. But you obviously know the situation better and maybe you’re in a field that frowned upon.

R/R: I woke up around 6 having to go the bathroom...I was so excited to see AF when I wiped. First one since 8/5. Although, now I’m wishing I didn’t push all my in person meetings to today...I forgot about my CD1&2 cramps.

    CS/Q: None right now.

    Edited for weird spacing.

Just to clarify for everyone -- I did NOT get injured in a mountain biking accident, I am not cool enough to be mountain biker :D. I did get injured putting mountain biking pedals on my indoor stationary cycling bike. Apparently I was wishing I could be cool enough to be a mountain biker haha.

@inthewoods23 Sorry for AF and for your cramps :( I hate when my stomach is upset when I don't eat enough - usually I get hit with a migraine too. Hope you can find a little rest & relaxation time today.

@ljmoon6 Wow! Your OB sounds so helpful. I am not at that point with mine yet but I hope if I do get to it that she is just as helpful. Also.. Ireland?! That sounds amazing. I was just telling DH the other day that I could use an adventure like that. We were there last February right before everything shuts down and it was the most amazing trip. Trust your got for sure but.. damn! I agree with @sienna221 -- definitely do what feels right for you but... why not try?

@sienna221 I wouldn't normally say this but I have been lurking the TWW so yay for AF! I hope the cramps aren't too bad.

@fameonmain2 enjoy your half day and watching the Inauguration!
@inthewoods23 boo CD1. Hey - remind me - have you ever been tested for silent endo? I've seen you mention heavy flow + bad craps a few times before.
@LJMoon6 a recently joined TTGP member –  @dsher – lives in Ireland right now. Maybe you can connect with her for advice? I used to know a girl (we went to college together) to moved to Ireland after grad and she actually hated it (weather, lifestyle, bomb threats); moved back home. Anyway, I'll stop raining on your parade! Please post the nerdy/sciencey stuff that you found out from your OB in the IF channel!
@sienna221 Hooray for CD1! I know you were really looking forward to AF this time.

    Month/Cycle: 12/13

    CD: 7

WAYDTGKU: Combo IUI (Letrazole + Menopur); saline sono TODAY; lots of vitamins and supplements for both MH and I.

R/R: rant -- I felt like crap yesterday and had to log off my work computer in the afternoon. My eye started twitching in the morning and would stop; and it also started twitching in the middle of the night. My colleagues suggested it might be tired eyes/stress, but I don't feel stressed. Not sure what to do about this.

rave -- I had my fertility group meeting yesterday and we ended up chatting for 2 hours! I'm so happy to have found a great group of ladies local to me to share my journey with. It's so important to have this support since ppl other wise don't get it. My best friend said something really hurtful to me over the weekend, and whilst I know where she was coming from/what she was trying to communicate, it once again confirmed to me the need for places like TTGP. People just don't get it.

CS/Q: medicated cycle so not bothering

@sienna221 Yay for AF!!! I’m legitimately excited for you, and that the timing of this virtually confirms that you did ovulate the day you were thinking.

@acleverusername This doesn’t have great evidence (one of the things we recommend because it can’t hurt), but taking in some extra magnesium today may help the eye twitching. It works for me! (And can’t hurt)

@LJMoon6 a heat pad the last hour has helped immensely. My body was doing so good last year with the minimal cramping where I didn't need any painkillers. I attributed that to going gluten and dairy free. Today was just a bit more uncomfortable that I couldn't ignore it. I should at least appreciate cramping because AF always shows up a few hours later once that light cramping starts. Yay bodily warnings lol. Happy to hear you're getting letrozole. I would love to work abroad, I think that would be really fun. I wasn't interested in the foreign exchange programs during school and of course now I regret not being interested back then!

    @sienna221 yay cycle buddies! woo!

@fameonmain2 ugh, I can't imagine migraines! DH gets those from time to time so if I got that with AF every month I'd be a raging B all the time :D

@acleverusername they did a biopsy on my lining a year ago to check for endo (the Receptiva test) as part of figuring out why my FET had failed. That came back negative so I have no reason to believe I have endo. A heat pad has helped a lot more than I expected it to so now it's just that annoying dull ache

I have been really absent for my own mental health. Thought I’d check in since it’s a fresh cycle. Won’t be posting daily, probably just weekly. One of my goals is to spend less time thinking of TTGP, so posting less often has helped with that.

    Month/Cycle: 7/9

    CD: 1

    WAYDTGKU: OPKs, DTD, and BBT

R/R: The BOE (board of education) voted in my district to disregard our reopening plan and send kids in building full time starting Feb 1 and in cohorts this week and next. So I’ve been stupid busy again trying to virtual teach and teach kids in person, and grade, and keep kids 6 feet apart, and lesson plan, and, and, and. 🙄

CS/Q: Temp didn’t even go below cover line this month before AF showed. 👎🏼

@aceleverusername I hope your saline sink went well today!

@sienna221 @inthewoodw23 cycle buddies, and cramps buddies. I’m so glad I didn’t have students in person today because I’m currently useless.

@LJMoon6 the thought of living abroad terrifies me. I shall live vicariously through your desires. 🤣

@fameonmain2 what can you accomplish in a 14 minute online class? Seems like a waste of everyone’s time! I definitely watched the inauguration while I worked. Definitely perks of having no kiddos today.

@fameonmain2 What do you teach that it's only 14 minutes?

@acleverusername I think magnesium can make you poop though so be aware  :#

@quiltandknit From the other day, the obgyn was a total waste of time, but at least he gave me official permission to try now. He said he doesn't see any reason I should be worried about TTC despite the length of time it took when I was 35 and now I'm 39  :s  The good thing is that my hashimoto's is mostly under control (endo last week upped my synthroid dose) and I had a D&C in September so that should have cleared out any lingering issues there.

    Month/Cycle: 2/1 AL

    CD: 14

WAYDTGKU: OPKs which are annoying me not getting any darker, trying to temp but I don't know if my sleep is consistent enough.

R/R: If things stay on track as predicted, stupid me booked a work trip for my February FW. Uggghhhhhhh

@chindimples04 hey there old friend! We haven't crossed paths in the dailies for a while. Saline sono went great; I posted an update in the IF channel.
@demimondaine When do you normally O? Hopefully FW will happen before your trip! Also, what was your previous vs. new dose of Synthroid? Did you get your TSH tested? Oh, and another random question: is your endocrinologist continuing to test your TPO antibody count?

@acleverusername How's the twitching eye? I get like that when a migraine is coming on, which is usually stress-induced. Hope the magnesium helps! Really glad to hear about the camaraderie you have found in your fertility group. TTGP helps me so much, I can only imagine that's amplified with local connections.

@chindimples04 hey there! Glad you are taking the time you need to keep your mental health #1. Teaching is not easy these days - we are still hybrid for the time being, but balancing the in-person/virtual/everything else is a lot. Keep taking care of yourself and recognize when you have reached your limit! In the end, the job is just a job. And I will safely say that there is pretty much noting you can accomplish in a 14-minute class.

@demimondaine Waiting for OPKs to get darker is the worst. FX it happens soon! I teach high school, today was a special schedule b/c we had professional development planned. Normally our Wednesdays are half days (pandemic schedule) and those classes are 25 minutes. Which are honestly super short too - hard to get anything done!

@acleverusername I believe I usually O cd13ish, and that was yesterday. Coming off a cp though, I'm not sure about anything! I'm also not having much success tracking Temps but I'm also impatient!

I was on 50mg of levothyroxin and now I'm on 62.5. My current tsh from just before I mc was 2.68. 6 months before I found out I had hashimotos it was 5.8  :s But then before I even got on meds it was 1.98! That was when I was diagnosed bc my tpo was 33 - a little over 4 years ago. Now it was 11. I only see my endo every 6 months and it seems like she tests it every time - 6 months ago it was down to 9.
