Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a lemon

Upcoming appointments: quick check-up this Thursday because my blood pressure was slightly elevated at my appt 2 weeks ago

How are you feeling?: I’m feeling pretty good! Starting to get a little more energy back possibly which will be nice!

Rants/Raves: At the end of my 3 day weekend and it’s been a relaxing one which is great. Started working on a registry which seems like an even more daunting task now that I started 🤦‍♀️

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: What is the number one destination on your travel bucket list (for non-pandemic times)?

Well my honeymoon to Monaco/France got cancelled due to covid last spring so that was a bummer. But honestly I think I’d say my number one destination would be England. My mom and I have always been into the royal family, both historical and modern and I really want to take a trip with her someday to see all the places we’ve always read about.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a peach that is also the length of a debit card 😆

Upcoming appointments: nothing so soon but my first OB appointment is finally scheduled for mid February.

How are you feeling?: I have energy again!!

Rants/Raves: I’ve been working on reducing my phone screen time - it’s a real problem - and I’ve had more success in the last few weeks than ever before and I feel so good about myself!

    Questions: natm

GTKY: What is the number one destination on your travel bucket list (for non-pandemic times)? Japan. My H is allergic to fish, seafood, soy and sesame seeds (amongst other foods) so it’s not high on his destination list. I hope one day I’ll find the perfect reason and travel partner to go!  My grandmother was born there so although she wasn’t Japanese, it had a lot of influence on her and she was a marvellous woman.

  • @pharmd93 I'm sorry your honeymoon couldn't happen.  Covid runs everything.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: avocado?

    Upcoming appointments: OB next week.

How are you feeling?: Feeling good for the most part.  Still exhausted at times and my stomach never fully settled....not nauseous just not settled.

Rants/Raves:  Another week of online learning 😫.  I live in a large rural region with less then 10 active cases, hopefully kids go back next week.  They miss friends and seeing anything other then the house and its 4 walls.

    Questions: natm

GTKY: What is the number one destination on your travel bucket list (for non-pandemic times)?

I'm not a huge traveler but honestly I would love a hot sunny beach right now.  Toes in sand, kids running happily and splashing.  Anywhere but my snowy, cold home.  Haha.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a peach

Upcoming appointments: regular check-up on feb 1

How are you feeling?: Pretty good, went on a HUGE walk yesterday and now my lower back is quite achy - I didn't have a sore lower back until 35ish weeks last pregnancy so I'm a little annoyed that it's starting already!

    Rants/Raves: Just you know...Monday...

    Questions: Natm

GTKY: What is the number one destination on your travel bucket list (for non-pandemic times)?  I really want to do a sailing vacation around the Croatian islands... Like I wouldn't be sailing but we would be staying on the boat.  I don't know if this will ever happen LOL - I have been fortunate in my life to have already visited a lot of places.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Lemon

Upcoming appointments: regular checkup in mid Feb and anatomy scan in late Feb.

How are you feeling?: still nauseated and peeing all night

Rants/Raves: not a rant but wish the NIPT didn’t take so long to come back.

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: What is the number one destination on your travel bucket list (for non-pandemic times)?

Italy! I would love to go to Rome, Tuscany, Santorini! Hopefully one day!

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Green

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a potsticker

Upcoming appointments: telehealth appt this Wednesday

How are you feeling?: overall, ok. My nausea is doing better. My biggest complaint is the post nasal drip. I’ve tried everything (neti pot, saline rinse, humidifier, even Zyrtec) and nothing helps it. It triggers my gag reflex so bad and makes me nauseous at times.

Rants/Raves: I went to our local thrift store today and bought a bunch of neutral short sleeve newborn onesies. I realized both of my other kids were born in cooler months (February and end of September), so I don’t think I have too many short sleeved newborn pieces. Got everything today for like $20!

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: What is the number one destination on your travel bucket list (for non-pandemic times)? The Caribbean. I’ve been several times with DH, but I have been dying to go again. I’d love to go to either Grand Cayman or Barbados again.

Upcoming appointments: ob on 2/8, anatomy scan some time after that

How are you feeling?: so crampy and headaches nonstop

Rants/Raves: since my scare last week, I can’t do any type of exercise without triggering cramps. I took my son to the park to ride his bike and walked less than a mile and i spent all day curled up in pain.

Questions: moms of more than 1, what are you putting on your registry?

GTKY: What is the number one destination on your travel bucket list (for non-pandemic times)? London. I did a semester abroad in college and it is by far my most favorite city ever. I want to take my husband there

Rants/Raves: passed my 1st GD test yesterday! Yay!!!

    Questions:

GTKY: What is the number one destination on your travel bucket list (for non-pandemic times)?

Australia. We wanted to go November 2018 but then we moved to amsterdam, November 2019 but my son was born, November 2020 and pandemic. 🙄 It’s top of our list.

  • @marikkita12, since I had 2 hours to kill yesterday, I actually made a list of things we need.

    - double stroller?
    - crib & crib sheets down the line
    - 2 sound machines
    - monitor
    - cloth diaper covers and maybe inserts
    - nose Frida and bbluv nail filer attachments
    - lovey for baby
    - dresser

I thank that was all I came up with for now. We have mostly everything else.

How are you feeling?: Optimistic now, but now we have to tell the families and somehow I just don't look forward to that.  I like having my little secret

    Rants/Raves:

    Questions:

GTKY: What is the number one destination on your travel bucket list (for non-pandemic times)?  Honestly I'd go ANYWHERE!!  But we need to hit up Florida to see DH parents and then California is a close second to see his sister.  Where do I want to go, I'd love to go to Hawaii but I want the kids to be older.  Scotland and Ireland are also high on the list.

How are you feeling?: meh.. headaches here and there and just feel kinda crappy. Like I can't put my finger on it. I'm not sick, I just don't feel my best. Maybe I need to eat better and sleep more.

Rants/Raves: rant... my PGAL brain is constantly in overdrive. I am dying to feel movement from this baby so I can reassure myself that everything is ok.

Questions: on that note - anyone feeling movement yet? I know I am the farthest along of all of us but just wondering!

GTKY: What is the number one destination on your travel bucket list (for non-pandemic times)? The Amalfi coast in Italy and Paris (I went to Paris with my grandmother when I was 14 which was amazing! I would love to go with my husband.)

  • @karacc18 I'm 13wks and I keep feeling something but I don't think it's baby and my dr was like that's not baby.  Anyway with my first I felt it in wk 18 with my second I felt it in wk 16.  So you should be so close!!

  • @karacc18, I started feeling flutters right after 14 weeks. Inconsistent still and not regular but on Saturday (16w) it was strong and then faint again since then.

  • @marikkita12
I'm not doing a registry but do need the following things:
    - Nose Frida (I think it'd be gross to use the same one for both kiddos ,especially with daycare germs)
    - second sound machine
    - second monitor or perhaps ditch our current monitor and buy one with two cameras (definitely should have considered that when we purchased our first one)
    - second humidifier
    - glider board for our stroller
    - new towels and washcloths
    - fun stuff for DS's new big boy bedroom!! LOL this isn't for baby but since I'm sitting thinking of this list I might as well be honest about what I need
    - Unsure whether I should by some pacifiers, DS never used them and so I'm thinking I should just save myself the hassle and never introduce one for this baby - but it might be nice to have one on hand just in case baby is difficult to soothe
    - delivery subscription to winery of choice for first year post-partum... LOL again, just being honest here.

I'm sure other stuff will come up, but those are the things for sure I know about right now.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: as tall as a playing card

    Upcoming appointments: Thursday morning

How are you feeling?: Anxious for Thursday

Rants/Raves: A bit of both: DH's birthday was last Thursday so we both took Friday off of work to celebrate and relax. Then our son woke up with a fever Friday morning, so we ended up not doing anything all weekend. He's feeling better now at least!

    Questions: No

GTKY: What is the number one destination on your travel bucket list (for non-pandemic times)? I've already been to Italy, but I'm dying to go back.

  • I found a cloth diaper store that's going out of biz and everything is half off with her code - - it's http://sweetlittleblessings.com

I was able to grab Flip covers and Softbums inserts - - I'm sooooo jazzed!!!  I got rid of all my CD so I'm starting from zero and getting new inserts is amazing!

I also shop FB Marketplace & some groups for deals on used - - if you want to know my strategy :). I got a ton of gdiapers for $50 - almost 30 diapers and allllll the inserts - - I'm soooooo jazzed!!!!!

Excited to hear from another CDing mama!!

    Upcoming appointments: 2/7

How are you feeling?: I need to eat a chip/cracker often - otherwise my stomach is unhappy - and I need extra rest - some mild headaches... just not feeling awesome but no complaints

Rants/Raves: SO EXCITED ABOUT CLOTH DIAPERS!!!  I just love that cloth diaper tush & it's so exciting having the diapers arrive in the mail -- it just makes me so so so happy!

We also just installed a swim spa in our garage - - it is FABULOUS to swim "laps" while my boys are playing at the other end of the pool.  It is a dream & I pray it will help me tone up and get in shape!!!!

GTKY: What is the number one destination on your travel bucket list (for non-pandemic times)? I want to visit Disney World ALL.THE.TIME.  I seriously want to go every 3 months - - that's my life goals.  Obviously not going anytime soon and I haven't gone for awhile unfortunately...but that's my JAM!

  • @canucklehead123, I’m having the same thoughts on pacifiers. My son never took one and I don’t want to have to figure out how to deal with anything involved with pacifiers (them losing it/having to find it to sleep, the weaning, etc.).

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: box of crayons

Upcoming appointments: Anatomy scan on Feb 12th

How are you feeling?: I’ve been feeling so out of it. Not terrible but tired all the time and still mostly uninterested in eating food. I think the lack of exercise, good nutrition, and sleep (been having terrible insomnia) is just making all these effects worse. Need to initiate a change in my routine.

Rants/Raves: I suppose the above answer is my rant.

Questions: Anyone else getting a 2nd tri screening done? I didn’t have one last time so I’m caught off guard. I’m assuming it’s because I’m AMA but I was last time too. My NIPT results came back normal so doc said they are just testing for spina bifida. I didn’t have an NT scan so maybe this is in place of that?

GTKY: What is the number one destination on your travel bucket list (for non-pandemic times)? Oh man, too many places. I really wanted to go to Zanzibar and Madagascar for our honeymoon, but my husband convinced me on someplace else lol. Morocco sounds amazing, and well as Egypt (riverboat down the Nile? yes pls 🥰). Myanmar, any place in South America (would love to see the Amazon), New Zealand, just to name a few. I wouldn’t feel comfortable traveling with small kids to all these places though so will likely have to wait until retirement 😅🤞.

  • @navete my ob brought up the same testing at my last appointment. He made it seem like it’s normal practice for him so I will be getting it done in a few weeks. I’m a FTM and 27 for what it’s worth.
  • @navete I'm feeling the same way. Tired and blah. I think I need to start taking walks and really pay attention to what I am eating.

@AKuzReve @bntfroggie I had an anterior placenta with my first, so maybe that's what I'm dealing with again. I'll find out on 2/1 at my anatomy scan I guess. I have had occasional feelings of "something" but nothing definite I don't think. Ugh, I hate that I'm feeling like this. I always have doomsday on my mind that something is wrong and I'm just desperate to feel this one.

  • @navete I also feel like I need to get back to some
more regular exercise. This pregnancy has been kicking my butt compared to my first. I’m AMA and was with my first and did first trimester screen (bloodwork and US) with both but haven’t been approached about second tri screen.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: pear or navel orange

Upcoming appointments: 1/28 with MFM to discus abnormal nuchal translucency results (I’m a bit nervous)

How are you feeling?: hoping I’m turning a corner after 3 days of awful migraine type headache I’m feeling good the last two days thank goodness and without overt nausea too! 🤞

Rants/Raves: I need to find motivation to write my February lectures but seem to do everything else instead

Questions: anyone else have normal bloodwork/NIPT but abnormal nuchal translucency on the ultrasound? Just hoping my little man is healthy!

GTKY: What is the number one destination on your travel bucket list (for non-pandemic times)? Ohh I LOVE to travel!! We want to do a Disney Alaska cruise hopefully in 2022. We actually did a Disney cruise last year right before everything shut down and it was awesome! I’ve also had Italy and Greece on my list for quite sometime but don’t think that would be the best trip for a 2/3 year old and newborn/1 year old. So maybe in a few years as a couples trip or family trip! I’d love to get my little man’s passport more action!

  • @karacc18 I think I felt movement yesterday while trying to fall asleep. It felt like little taps. My son is 4.5 so it’s been a LOOOONG time since I’ve felt a baby move. It was so exciting.

@navete how did I miss that we have the same due date!! I didn’t do a first trimester screen but I did do the nipt and my ob ordered the second tri screen as well. With my first pregnancy I never had a NT but did both first and second tri screens. It’s so weird how there’s not really consistency across the board

Upcoming appointments: Genetics counseling tomorrow :-/ OB on Tuesday

How are you feeling?: pretty awful. Haven't been on the board much because HG is still a struggle. Then this week we had no so great news for NIPT, so trying to stay off dr. google.

right now probably Japan and Korea. But, also want to explore more european countries

  • @kpc914 I'm sorry your results wasnt happy news.  Hopefully your appointment will provide you with more clarity and comfort.
  • @kpc914 I’m so sorry about your results. I hope the appointment tomorrow helps ease some worries. You’ll be in my thoughts.
  • @kpc914 so sorry you’re dealing with that stress ❤️

  • @tiggywiggles @pharmd93 @DuchessOfCambridge Thank you all! My friend is an OB and he's convinced its a bad sample (low fetal fraction relative to my gestational age), but my dr mentioned a couple conditions it was high risk for. So I'm just trying not to panic and be patient. Once reassurance dr google gave me is that asprin can cause low fetal fraction and I'm on low dose asprin for my high risk for pre-e. so maybe its just a  false alarm? I'll update ya'll tomorrow. Thank you for the support even though I haven't been as active here as I would like. <3
  • @kpc914 I’m sorry about the stress and iffy results! Keep us posted tomorrow if you want! I will keep you in my prayers! If you want to talk to someone else who is also on low-dose aspirin for previous preeclampsia and had iffy first trimester screen results I am here and am your girl!
  • @kime783 did you redo the screening test? Thank youfor your support!
  • @kpc914 I’m sorry about the NIPT results and hope you get some clarity and good news tomorrow. I had an abnormal NIPT result my first pregnancy and can empathize with the feelings of unease and anxiety. Feel free to message me if you have any questions/thoughts you want to discuss (either in this thread or PM). *Hugs*

@kime783 I’m sorry you’re dealing with an abnormal test result as well, and hope you have a good follow up meeting with the geneticist. I won’t share my thoughts on NIPT results vs NT results since I’m not a doctor, so I’ll just share my experience without analysis 😅. In spoiler just in case, although I don’t believe there’s anything warranting a TW:
After my abnormal NIPT test last pregnancy, I had an early anatomy scan where they checked for all physical abnormalities, including the baby’s neck for fluid. No abnormalities were indicated during the anatomy scan, but it was presumed the NIPT results were still correct. We were told the only way to confirm the results were through more invasive procedures (amniocentesis or CV). Given the relatively mild symptoms of the condition, I opted to wait until after my son was born to test. We confirmed his condition at around 5 months old.

@marikkita12 Yay due date twins! 🙌. It’s definitely weird and slightly confusing with all the inconsistencies in testing. I just got my second tri screening done this afternoon, one more result to stress about lol. It kinda feels like we’re in an over testing phase in maternity care. I wonder if it’ll increase or settle down some for future generations as these nascent technologies mature.
