Virtual baby shower....

So my mom and sister hosted my virtual baby shower today. It was at my house because that was just easier. The whole format was so weird. We basically just pushed through the presents in about an hour and chatted with a few people before things for awkward. I thanked everyone and let them know that if they wanted to log out I wasn't going to be offended and make them sit and watch me as everyone cleaned up around me. 

Anyone else have one yet? 

Disclaimer: mom had a negative COVID test Tuesday and my sister and nieces just finished quarantine. We all wore masks and ate in separate rooms with multiple windows open for fresh air.

My work shower was mostly virtual, and we basically did the same- gifts first so we could thank everyone and then people started logging off shortly after . It’s kind of weird but it wasn’t as awkward as I thought it would be.

I think we're gonna skip a shower all together, I feel bad because I know my mom really wanted to host one for me, but the whole thing with current circumstances in mind (virtual or drive up) was giving me too much anxiety. 🤦‍♀️

I had a sort of impromptu shower my last day at work. I couldn’t believe my colleagues pulled it off with so little notice. Huge surprise and definitely unexpected but very much appreciated.

My virtual shower is next weekend, I'm not opening gifts during it, but my SiL is really good at party planning, so I think we'll be able to fill the hour. 

I bought a dress for the occasion, since I'm basically living in maternity leggings and whatever t shirts still fit.

I totally get it. If you want something really low-key and low anxiety maybe just ask your mom to send out an online gift registry to friends and family. Things just get sent to your house and your only obligation is a thank you. 🙂

I had a virtual shower a few weeks ago. I was kind of dreading it but it actually went pretty smoothly. My sister hosted and she's been remote-teaching since last spring, so she's basically a Zoom whiz! We did a few little activities and I opened some presents, but not all of them. People were given full permission to log off whenever so I definitely think that made it less awkward.

We're skipping a shower this go around. My first baby is just barely over a year old and we still have lots of essentials for the new addition. We've stocked up on diapers, baby boy clothes and bought another crib so we are mostly set. My mother and mother in law both asked about hosting a shower, but to be honest the first one was enough stress for me lol. I think for me personally, virtual would just be even more awkward and stressful. Kudos to you ladies who have found a way to celebrate with friends and family 🤗
