Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Friday 1/15

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

    WAYDTGKU: the things

R/R: Friday before a long weekend, and I get to work from home Tues and Wed! That is so unlikely in my profession so I will take it. Looking forward to some r&r this weekend and getting some home projects and dissertation work done.

    CS/Q: nothing to see

  • @fameonmain2 have a wonderful long weekend! I love relaxing + productive weekends!

    Month/Cycle: 26/28

    CD: 5

    WAYDTGKU: OPKs, Tracking CM

R/R: it is beautiful out today and I am lacking motivation to get started working! I just want to pretend it’s spring and not tax season. This audit I’m working on, it’s a new client and they told me it was due last week, but they knew that wasn’t enough time (and I had something else booked for last week) so working on it this week was fine. It’s not a small amount of work so I’ve been very stressed, to the point where it caused an argument between me and DH about my stress level and that maybe it’s time to look for a new job. I made the partner on the client call him yesterday to explain we need a little more time and the client was like “well we have until the end of the month but don’t tell bows”

What a d*ck move. I’m furious and it’s honestly making it hard to even work on it but I have to obviously. I don’t want to be like “I’m so wonderful” but I’m far from an entry level worker bee who you can just push around. So disrespectful.

    CS/Q:

  • @bows22 That is so rude. Why do people assume others are unable to do their jobs effectively? I'm sorry you're going through that. I hope the weekend brings you some work relief.
  • @fameonmain2 We don't get off MLK so I'm jealous of your long weekend! But I always work from home, so there is that!

@bows22 That is so rude! Like there isn't enough stress at work.

     Month/Cycle: 2/2 (1AL)

    CD: 9

WAYDTGKU: OPK, gonna have to start thinking about PNV  :D Not the vitamins.

R/R: I woke up this morning to a cold house - I forgot to order heating oil!! Whoops!! The company was so great getting a truck out to me by 1030, and the guy went above and beyond trying to get the furnace and water heater back up and running.

Also I booked my first beach vacay of the year this morning!! It's May 9-14, so it will probably still be chilly, but I'm hoping we can at least kayak!

CS/Q: I did my first (very imperfect) temp this morning and it was 97.22 - does that sound reasonable? My thermometer is old and I can't remember these things. I def was moving a bit before I got it to read in the dark though. It's so slow too - does anyone have a fast one?? I'm spoiled with ear thermometers! haha

  • @fameonmain2 Yay on working from home on Tue/Wed! Hopefully it'll make the long weekend even more relaxing.

@bows22 Serious WTF! As you said: a dick move and incredibly disrespectful. If there's one thing I learned from your posts, is that you are extremely dedicated to both your job and your company. How long have you been there? Is looking for something else just YH's idea, or has that been a creeping thought for you too?

@demimondaine Where's the beach? Being from (the cold part of) Canada, whenever I hear beach vacation, I think Dominican Republic, Mexico, or the likes. Obviously, this is not it.

    Month/Cycle: 12/13

    CD: 2

WAYDTGKU: TBD as I went for my Day 2 monitoring u/s this morning and I already have a lead follicle on my left side. So dumb. Waiting to hear back if it's a cyst or a real follicle (depending on my blood tests) to decide if we're doing any medication this cycle, or cancelling in favor of a natural cycle. This TTC journey is full of 180 degree flips. But, of course taking lots of supps and vits, both MH and I.

R/R: I slept better last night, but still pretty lousy. I know a few folks complained of poor sleep during AF, so I'm in that boat too. Sigh. On the other hand, we've had the most beautiful weather for the past 3 days, with highs reaching mid 60's in the day, and NO RAIN. We're supposed to be well into our rainy season now, but it's been stuttering. Unless that changes soon, it may spell another bad fire season ahead. For now, I'm taking advantage of the nice weather and going for mid-day walks to break up sitting all day.

CS/Q: I'll probably chart if this ends up being a natural cycle.

  • @fameonmain2 enjoy the days from home - really only enjoyable when they're intermittent!

@bows22 wow that's infuriating. What's wrong with people. Feel your pain, get it done and out of your life!

@demimondaine I know everyone here uses FF but I had already signed up for the Natural Cycles app and it's been super easy to use. And they send you a thermometer which is handy.

@acleverusername god I am jealous of your nice weather!! Enjoy those walks. I've seriously had to push myself to leave the house at all with the horrible weather here. And it gets dark at 4pm which doesn't help things.

    Month/Cycle: 1/1

CD: 10 (AKA go time lol)

    WAYDTGKU: temps, CM, OPKs

R/R: I took today off work cause it truly was getting a bit unbearable in recent days. I feel like I go through a 'really fed up with the pandemic' phase once every few weeks and this one hit hard. It is super locked down here and I'm living quite rural at the moment so it all just gets to be too much some days! Glad I did take it off though cause we got out of the house while it was light out for a bit and it has helped incrementally.

    CS/Q: nothing interesting to show!

  • @demimondaine everyone’s temps are different but that’s not an abnormal temp. Glad you got warmed up!

@acleverusername I know, so rude! Ugh. It’s kind of a long story about my job but without getting into the details I was supposed to take a “step back” a few years ago which worked for about a year and a half, but since the pandemic it’s just been one thing after another. MH’s point is like, life’s too short to be this stressed about work. Which I 100% agree with, but if things can get back to my normal pre-covid “step back” I have a pretty nice arrangement. I would have a hard time finding something this flexible. Even when I work crazy hours it’s on my own terms. So we’ll see. I hope you are able to enjoy the nice weather today but that some rain mixes in soon! And I hope you get better sleep tonight!

@dsher glad you took a mental health day and that it’s helping!
  • @dsher Good for you for recognizing that you need a day off for your mental health. I bet the getting dark at 4pm doesn't help your mood. Hopefully the weekend will also allow you to get outside and enjoy some daylight.

  • @acleverusername We go to Ocean City Maryland. Its the mid Atlantic so not exactly a tropical paradise  :D I'm not big on flying, and its about a 5 hr drive from me - although at this point I'm pretty ready to pack it all up and head to the tropics!!
  • @acleverusername Enjoy the nice weather! It's been unseasonably warm here, too, though not that warm! I also sometimes sleep poorly during AF. Or at least have crazy dreams.

@demimondaine Forgetting to order oil is such a fear of mine! Glad you were able to get heat back relatively quickly. As for the thermometer, when we first started ttc I just bought one off of Amazon, but I would definitely recommend getting one with a backlight since I didn't want to spend the extra money which just left me grabbing my phone every morning to turn the flashlight on to be able to see the reading lol

@dsher I feel you on the pandemic just being too much some days. I find that if I'm snapping more than usual at work it's time to take a break. Glad you were able to take a mental health day and hopefully get a sort of reset! I agree, short days/early sunset is plain rough. Can't wait for the time change (I know it's still far away).

  • @demimondaine I don’t know, OCMD kind of sounds like a tropical paradise right now!
  • @fameonmain2 +1 for the crazy dreams! Some of them have been truly bizarre.

  • @bows22 what a d*ck move!  I get building wiggle room into the timeline but it seems really crappy of them to set the deadline now?!

@fameonmain2 super jealous of your long weekend!  Enjoy the downtime and do all the things! And another +1 for crazy dreams.  They seem to be every night for me over the past month, regardless of where my cycle is!

@demimondaine yay for fixing the heat promptly! And GL with the temping!

@dsher Totally feel you on the pandemic fatigue.  Definitely feel that a few days per month myself, and need to take a couple low key self-care days.  Be kind to yourself!  Remind me again what you do for work? (and apologies if I missed it!)

    Month/Cycle: 12/12

    CD: 15

WAYDTGKU: OPKs, prenatals, Coq10 and DHEA

R/R: Don't know what's going on this cycle.  Have had some promising CM, but OPKs are negative so far.  I have long cycles, usually O on day 19 or 20, so I'm going to keep testing.  But it's nagging at me a little that I might have missed O if I started to use the OPKs too late. I had my HSG on day 12 and then needed to abstain, so hoping I didn't miss it the one month I might have O'd early.  We shall see.

    CS/Q: not charting

  • @quiltandknit I hope you didn’t miss O! You probably didn’t, but I understand the fear. Hope you see some darker OPKs soon!
