@yellingbanana she’s a sweetie so she totally gets it thank goodness! We will make it special regardless. And thank you! Hoping I get them Sat morning 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
@brynn_mamaof4 fingers crossed you get a negative covid result back quickly!! Early on in my pregnancy (like 6ish weeks pregnant) I was exposed to someone with covid. It was a few days before I could get tested, then a few more days for the results--they were the longest most nerve wracking days ever!
@brynn_mamaof4 ugh!! I'm so sorry you're dealing with that! I hope you feel better soon and that it's not COVID. I honestly find it a little strange about loss of taste and smell being a CoVID specific symptom because I too have had colds and sinus infections that caused me to lose taste and smell.
@spartan4life it’s an odd symptom for sure! I’m not really prone to sinus infections, I’ve had two in my life. First one was the end of my last pregnancy and likely due to just increased fluids in general. I was MISERABLE. It took three rounds of antibiotics to clear... my face hurt, my teeth hurt, it was terrible. I remember just closing the door to my office and crying I was in so much pain. My dad is an ER nurse and I called him convinced there’s no way sinus infections are that bad, that I need to go to the ER, etc. truly one of the worst I’ve ever felt in my life. That’s when I lost my taste for a few weeks.
My 2nd was last feb but was something I dealt with after attempting to recover from flu b (gosh I had the flu soooo bad).
Props to mamas who are prone to sinus infections often. I could never! I’d get sinus surgery ASAP. I’ve had 7 hip surgeries... I’m no wimp - but man - not something I want to deal with again!!!
So we don't need a ton of stuff for the babies but we do need some things so I decided to go ahead and start buying a few things here and there so we don't have to buy everything at once. Mostly focusing on what we need/want to have by the time they get here (so not necessarily stuff for the nursery but swaddles, pacifiers, new bottle nipples, etc) and I just placed my first order and I'm so excited. I love online shopping anyway but something about this being the first stuff we've purchased for the boys (other than their dresser) is making me extra emotional. It's not even anything exciting just a 3 pack of velcro swaddles, a 2 pack of premie bottles just in case we need them, and a 2 pack of newborn pacifiers. Saving the bigger stuff until we're in the window to use the registry completion discount!
@gusgus14 so exciting! I’m trying to hold off on buying anything until after my shower but it’s so hard! Luckily my family sent some cute onesies and books as Christmas gifts, it’s helping to hold me over (for now)
@gusgus14 I know, I'm trying to wait for the registry completion discount but it's so exciting I keep adding something small every time I order anything from amazon.
I've been trying to hold off until finding out gender. But the occasional time I go to a thrift store, I find something that I can't leave there in case I need it, mostly swaddles and adorable onesies. Although, kind of regretting the fleece zippered armless swaddle. I don't know how much a summer baby will use fleece.
@gusgus14 I’ve been trying to hold off until after we have our “mail in” shower to buy small things but I caved last night to an insta ad. I just needed this set for little man (now he can match his tie dyed mama). in spoiler.
@brynn_mamaof4 good luck on the test results... COVID scares always seem to come at the worst time! My hubby found out Christmas Eve he was a close contact, so he spent Christmas and the next few days in the basement waiting for his test and then results. FX for your results to be negative
I'm also starting to jump on the buying things bandwagon.... Ordered our stroller yesterday when the uppababy cruz was on sale! Now eying up swings and been going down the CD rabbit hole... Haha. I'm pretty sure all the larger items we will have to buy ourselves, so I don't see much point in waiting for those.
@texas_t my smell I would say is about 70% diminished. It’s oddly better than my taste, I would say my taste is like 95% gone. I can’t taste foods, but I can tell if it’s sour or something.. you know? 🤷🏼♀️
I cannot believe it, at all, but my results were negative!!! I still can’t taste, was up all night with a headache and still congested but I guess pregnancy likes to bring me sinus infections. I’ve never been so happy to have a sinus infection 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 Thank you universe!
@texas_t me too! I was actually shocked. I had already accepted my fate but I’m so relieved because I went down a dee scary reddit hole last night about corona and pregnancy lol
@gusgus14 I want to shop so bad but I'm trying to hold off until we confirm at the next ultrasound that baby is a girl, and I would like to use the completion discount...but I know I won't be able to wait THAT long 🤣
@ec1212 I'm worried about the shipping times! I was hoping to wait to order one until we got the rest of the furniture in the room to see what will fit, but we might have to do it sooner rather than later...
