Re: All trimester check in - week of 12/27/2020

    • How far along/EDD? New here! 5 weeks / Aug. 30
    • How are you feeling this week? So nervous! I’m still so early. But also excited. This is the farthest we’ve ever gotten after trying for 3 years. Physically I’m very sore / fatigued. Having lower back aches, a bit of stomach cramps, breasts are sore, and of course peeing every 2 seconds lol
    • Rants/Raves? Questions? Did anyone else further along have lower back pain this early? What about cramps? Those are what’s concerning me the most at this point.
    • Upcoming appointments? First sono is Wednesday!
    • GTKY: What are your plans for New Year's Eve this year? Spending time with some friends - most of which do not know I’m pregnant yet, so any tips on fake drinking is appreciated 😆
    Hope everyone is doing / feeling well!

    • How far along/EDD? 30w4d, EDD 3/4/2021
    • How are you feeling this week? I am definitely in the third trimester!  Mild nausea has returned (fun), I have been taking naps every day, I still get heartburn most days, and I feel like I have no room for my organs any more.  Oh, I also get exhausted just walking up and down the stairs.  :(  Ever since I hit about 28 weeks, baby's movements have been less big.  That had me concerned for a while but I still feel the wiggles, rolls, and stretches regularly so I am assuming this is normal for my body and my pregnancy.
    • Rants/Raves? Questions? Contractors are finally coming back out tomorrow to completely redo my only tub/shower!!  It should be done by NYE.  Very exciting since this means the giant tub in my living room will be gone and I can start to put my house in order in preparation for baby.  Also my cousin is supposed to stop by tomorrow at some point to pick up an old queen mattress that we have been storing in the nursery.  I am seriously starting to feel the time crunch now.  Only 9.5 more weeks to go.  I also can't believe that I'm the next one on the list for the "calling" on this thread!  :o
    • Upcoming appointments? Telehealth OB appointment tomorrow morning.  Should be pretty boring.  I am anxiously waiting for Jan 11 when I'll have my next ultrasound.  Also Jan 14 when I have an in person OB appointment.  I also have the first of my three online parenting and birthing classes scheduled for Jan 7.
    • GTKY: What are your plans for New Year's Eve this year?  Nothing big.  We'll be going over my sister's house (her family is my Covid pod).  Let's see how well I do with trying to stay up until midnight!   :D
    @kam174 Welcome and congratulations!!

    • How far along/EDD? 16w4d, June 10
    • How are you feeling this week? I think Im done w vomiting! 🤞 It's been about a week.
    • Rants/Raves? We went to my mom's for Christmas and new year's. I had to tell her, even though I dont feel ready. I was afraid she would find out in an *unceremonious * way (hearing me barf). So we made a big announcement out of it. I am embarrassed it took us so long and nervous now my whole family knows, they're expecting me to have a baby and we've never gotten this far before. I'm 38 and been TTC 5 years.
    • Upcoming appointments? Anatomy scan Jan 8! I think it's a boy.
    • GTKY: What are your plans for New Year's Eve this year? At the relatives. Just being w my grandpa and treasuring time together.

    @kam174 Hi there! Congrats. I did not have lower back pain at 5 weeks and still haven't really. Every pregnancy is different. Cramps are scary. I hope everything's okay. I read that some cramping is normal bc hormones and your uterus growing. It feels kind of like period cramping. I felt it quite early on. When I miscarried at 6 weeks, the cramps felt more like indigestion/gas.

  • Thanks ladies! It feels like period cramps for sure, lower abdomen. Thinking my back hurts from a major cleanup yesterday ... it was so cold here our outdoor glass tabletop shattered overnight - glass all over the back patio and even in the grass 😣 it was insane. And we have 2 dogs, so we were shoveling, sweeping, and vacuuming up glass for hours to make sure we got it all. Hoping that’s why I’m a bit sore today 🤞🏻
  • @lauralew - yay to the progress on the renovations.  I'm in a similar situation.  We gutted our entire house and have been slowly putting it back together.  The walls are in and painted.  The bathrooms are almost done and the wood floors are coming in early Jan.  I'm really hoping everything comes together in the next few months so I have some time to nest before the baby.  Renovations are stressful (especially with a baby on the way).  Good luck to you!

    @kam174 - welcome and congratulations!!!
    I had back pain for a couple days once.  I also had spotting (until ~week 10), so that combo really freaked me out.  All was okay, though.  I'm pretty sure the back
    pain was related to cleaning the house.  I hope yours goes away soon!

    @lizalovespasha - congratulations on making your announcement.  I'm sure everyone was thrilled.  I understand the hesitation to make it official.  When you've been trying for so long, it's hard to believe it's really happening.  Good luck on Jan 8th!

    How far along/EDD? 14w1dHow are you feeling this week? Great! No nausea or headaches in over a week.  Yay to the second trimester!Rants/Raves? Questions? I'm so happy because I just got my NIPT results and they were all clear. They also confirmed that we're having a boy.  This was a PGS tested embryo so already knew most of the info but it was good to have confirmation.  I also did my NT scan last week and the Little Guy was jumping all around.  All looked good!  We also finally told our families on Christmas.  It was fun because everyone was shocked.  We even did a low-key Zoom gender reveal the same day.Upcoming appointments? Not until Jan 22ndGTKY: What are your plans for New Year's Eve this year?  We're staying in by ourselves for NYE.  We might make a fancy meal and play Scrabble.
  • @lizalovespasha Congratulations on sharing the news with your family!  I know it feels scary but you have already cleared so many hurdles.  Even at 30 weeks I still worry about something going wrong.  It's hard to get out of the mindset of feeling like there's no way I can be lucky enough for this to actually work and to have a healthy baby.  Stats are reassuring on some level, but then again the stats should have been in my favor when TTC -- at least for IVF to have worked when nothing else did (we ultimately had to go the DE route).

    @late_bloomer Wow!  I can't even imagine living in a house that's been completely gutted right now.  Are you or your SO doing the renovation work yourself or did you hire contractors?  Regarding your NIPT testing, I had also done PGS and knew my baby's gender in advance but still worried all the way up to the 20 week ultrasound. I knew we were having a boy (even though I really wanted a girl, but not how my DH's genetics worked out apparently), but I would have been really concerned if they had  not been able to confirm it was a boy at the 20 week ultrasound.  It would have been like whose baby am I carrying??!
  • Sooo I had my first sono 🥳 we have 1 and a half babies 😆 1 definite baby, and a second dot that they said is either just fluid or possibly a 2nd baby 😬 said we will be able to know for sure by next weeks sono! Otherwise all is well - I stressed all week for nothing lol I’m sure I’m in for many more stressful weeks ahead 😆 did anyone ever experience a “1 and a half” with their first sono? Just curious lol
  • @kam174 Wow!  Congrats on a great first sono.  One and a half!  That would give me more stress not knowing how many babies I was carrying than anything else, lol.  I have found that it is easy to stress, no matter which stage of your pregnancy you are in.  When do you go back for your second sono?
  • @laurelew thank you! I’m just happy there’s even one in there 😆 a second would just be a bonus lol Wednesday is my next sono.
  • @kam174 - Wow!  Good luck at your next sonogram.  I hope you HTA second hiding in there.

    @lauralew - My husband is doing most of the work himself but, luckily, we aren't living in the house during the big renovations.  We bought a condo a couple years ago (for investment) and we've been living there.  I can't wait to finish the renovation and move back into my house, though. Fingers crossed we finish before the baby comes 🤞
  • @lauralew
    Concern about movements plagued me the entire 3rd trimester! I got a little app for my phone that I could count movements on and checked morning and evening. But if you ever feel that 'gut' feeling of being worried about something, trust it!, esp. now!

    I don't know how but our bodies know way more about what's going on than we sometimes do! I went to the hospital to do a peace of mind scan at 35 weeks (cuz my OB' u/s tech was out) since I felt like something was "off" and they caught my BP just pushing over into 'worrying' numbers (160/92). I was kept in the hospital for monitoring, everything looked fine on labs and stuff, baby girl doing brilliantly - but my wonderful doctor decided to run my labs again before discharging me and we caught the development of severe pre-E basically at its start. Baby girl was delivered since I was so close to 37 weeks at that time (no issues with her, just worry over me continuing to stay pregnant). It was a bit of a whirlwind but really taught me to trust my gut. You can't hurt anything by asking for some reassurance if you need it.

  • @mbradfo2 Thank you so much for sharing your experience/story!  I have been feeling better this week.  Feeling a lot more movement from little boy most days, especially at night or after eating.  Of course I've been pushing myself too hard the past few days with organizing and trying to put my house back in order after the shower project so I feel him less when I'm busy/active.  I was trying to take advantage of the days off from work to get as much done as possible (and before my engery lags even more as the pregnancy progresses).  Fortunately I'll be back to work tomorrow (aka sitting on my couch working from home with my laptop) so I should have plenty of down time this week to help recover from a busy few days.  Also only one week to go until my ultrasound!!  I know that will help a million times over for that additional peace of mind these last few weeks.
  • @kam174 wow! Suspense! Let us know when you find out. I knew at 3.5 weeks that it was twins due to hcg and progesterone numbers. Went for a scan at 4.5 weeks, saw one dark spot only. Was confused. Went for another scan at 6.5 weeks and confirmed two babies in two separate sacs. Im curious to know how things turn out for you.
  • Went for my 6 week sono today and it’s just 1, healthy baby ☺️ I’m a little relieved - although it would have been nice to be “one and done” with this whole process. But not sure I was prepared for twins right off the bat 😬 Got to hear the heartbeat for the first time ❤️ Hope everyone is doing well and feeling good!
