Re: All trimester check in - week of 12/27/2020
- How far along/EDD? 30w4d, EDD 3/4/2021
- How are you feeling this week? I am definitely in the third trimester! Mild nausea has returned (fun), I have been taking naps every day, I still get heartburn most days, and I feel like I have no room for my organs any more. Oh, I also get exhausted just walking up and down the stairs.
Ever since I hit about 28 weeks, baby's movements have been less big. That had me concerned for a while but I still feel the wiggles, rolls, and stretches regularly so I am assuming this is normal for my body and my pregnancy. - Rants/Raves? Questions? Contractors are finally coming back out tomorrow to completely redo my only tub/shower!! It should be done by NYE. Very exciting since this means the giant tub in my living room will be gone and I can start to put my house in order in preparation for baby. Also my cousin is supposed to stop by tomorrow at some point to pick up an old queen mattress that we have been storing in the nursery. I am seriously starting to feel the time crunch now. Only 9.5 more weeks to go. I also can't believe that I'm the next one on the list for the "calling" on this thread!

- Upcoming appointments? Telehealth OB appointment tomorrow morning. Should be pretty boring. I am anxiously waiting for Jan 11 when I'll have my next ultrasound. Also Jan 14 when I have an in person OB appointment. I also have the first of my three online parenting and birthing classes scheduled for Jan 7.
- GTKY: What are your plans for New Year's Eve this year? Nothing big. We'll be going over my sister's house (her family is my Covid pod). Let's see how well I do with trying to stay up until midnight!
@kam174 Welcome and congratulations!!@kam174 Hi there! Congrats. I did not have lower back pain at 5 weeks and still haven't really. Every pregnancy is different. Cramps are scary. I hope everything's okay. I read that some cramping is normal bc hormones and your uterus growing. It feels kind of like period cramping. I felt it quite early on. When I miscarried at 6 weeks, the cramps felt more like indigestion/gas.
@kam174 - welcome and congratulations!!!
I had back pain for a couple days once. I also had spotting (until ~week 10), so that combo really freaked me out. All was okay, though. I'm pretty sure the back
pain was related to cleaning the house. I hope yours goes away soon!
@lizalovespasha - congratulations on making your announcement. I'm sure everyone was thrilled. I understand the hesitation to make it official. When you've been trying for so long, it's hard to believe it's really happening. Good luck on Jan 8th!
AFM...
@late_bloomer Wow! I can't even imagine living in a house that's been completely gutted right now. Are you or your SO doing the renovation work yourself or did you hire contractors? Regarding your NIPT testing, I had also done PGS and knew my baby's gender in advance but still worried all the way up to the 20 week ultrasound. I knew we were having a boy (even though I really wanted a girl, but not how my DH's genetics worked out apparently), but I would have been really concerned if they had not been able to confirm it was a boy at the 20 week ultrasound. It would have been like whose baby am I carrying??!
@lauralew - My husband is doing most of the work himself but, luckily, we aren't living in the house during the big renovations. We bought a condo a couple years ago (for investment) and we've been living there. I can't wait to finish the renovation and move back into my house, though. Fingers crossed we finish before the baby comes 🤞
Concern about movements plagued me the entire 3rd trimester! I got a little app for my phone that I could count movements on and checked morning and evening. But if you ever feel that 'gut' feeling of being worried about something, trust it!, esp. now!
I don't know how but our bodies know way more about what's going on than we sometimes do! I went to the hospital to do a peace of mind scan at 35 weeks (cuz my OB' u/s tech was out) since I felt like something was "off" and they caught my BP just pushing over into 'worrying' numbers (160/92). I was kept in the hospital for monitoring, everything looked fine on labs and stuff, baby girl doing brilliantly - but my wonderful doctor decided to run my labs again before discharging me and we caught the development of severe pre-E basically at its start. Baby girl was delivered since I was so close to 37 weeks at that time (no issues with her, just worry over me continuing to stay pregnant). It was a bit of a whirlwind but really taught me to trust my gut. You can't hurt anything by asking for some reassurance if you need it.
