  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 28+1

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Team blue - Ryan

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Eggplant or a Nintendo - this sounds enormous

Upcoming appointments: 1/4 for OB and 3hr glucose ugggghhhhhhh

How are you feeling?: Great!! I can finally say that I feel awesome.

Rants/Raves: I'm so annoyed that I "failed" my 1hr glucose test.  I think the general standard for the test is less than 140 but our OB is on the conservative side and cuts off at 135 -- my score was 137.  So so annoyed. Rave for a short week bc of Christmas...and yay it's Christmas lol

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite holiday movie? Don't have one....

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Two Walkmans, which is wild.

Upcoming appointments: I have to go for my 3-hour glucose, it was supposed to be this week but who knows if I'll be able to devote 3 hours to sitting around on Christmas week! (It's one of my busiest work weeks!)

How are you feeling?: Feeling ok, starting to slow down a lot. I'm the size of a third tri mom already (gestationally the twin belly measures 6 weeks ahead so I'm the equivalent of a 32 week singleton).

Rants/Raves: I'm excited for Christmas, even if it will look different this year. I'm choosing to be happy even under the circumstances, and hoping to make the best of it.

I also can't wait to get all of the random boxes out of my house. Anyone else just have shipping boxes multiply like gremlins in the night?

    Questions: Not at the moment

GTKY: What is your favorite holiday movie? Christmas Vacation, all day every day!

  • @juliebeannn That is total bs haha! 140 is even a pretty conservative number or so I've read. I failed the 1-hour in November by a couple of points, but passed the 3-hour with flying colors. They're making me retest again now, so will be heading for a 3-hour soon, I might push it out to after Christmas though. I felt like hot garbage after my last one and was useless for a day and I just can't do that with work right now.

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 3/7, 29 weeks 2 days

    FTM/STM/STM+: FTM

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: pink

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: hard to tell because she's measuring 2 weeks ahead now.

Upcoming appointments: 30 week appointment next week

How are you feeling?: Pretty good but feeling a bit... unwieldy. Starting to use the belly as a weapon against my husband and the cats. Hubby is tall and the belly meets his bum so usually I tell him the baby's gonna kick his @$$ if he doesn't move. Our new bed is tall enough to rest the belly on so I've used the belly to bully a cat out of the way so I can climb up. 🤣

Rants/Raves: Having to redo my 2 weeks of blood sugar checks because my fasting sugar was "a little high". Well that's probably because the heartburn was so bad overnight I was waking up repeatedly to eat a calcium tablet and never actually got to "fasting". They put me on a medication and it's like night and day. Only waking to pee now lol.

Questions: Anyone else reaching that stage where underwear is evil? It's either too tight, too loose, droopy, or comes to my bra. The Belevation ones sometimes feel fine but next time feel too restrictive. I can either fold them down and use the band to lift the belly or pull them all the way up... But eventually I'm ready to cut all my underwear off and just go commando.

GTKY: What is your favorite holiday movie? Elf. It's SO GOOFY and honestly the only movie I can stand Will Ferrell in.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: cabbage or lettuce

Upcoming appointments: 1st week of Jan, doing my 28wk bloodwork on Dec 28th, fingerscrossed for no GD

    How are you feeling?: heartburny

Rants/Raves: Rant: I spent most of Saturday at the ER because my belly button was leaking! Turns out I have something called a urachal cyst that was literally leaking... it's not infected, they are going to basically keep an eye of it, but there's really nothing to do about it right now. The good news is baby is fine, he was doing flips all over the place while they were monitoring him.

How are you feeling?: I've been sleeping way better to my surprise. Feeling really good.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: tomorrow a 1 gallon jug of milk

Upcoming appointments: telehealth next week for my 30w appt

How are you feeling?: Tired and achy. I got a better support belt, which has been helping some with the back pain.

Rants/Raves: Just trying to get through these 3 days of work until I'm off for a few days for Christmas!  I'm trying to focus on the good and be happy (maybe I can channel some of @mvt2003's energy) despite not being able to be with family and also missing my nephew's first birthday. I had everyone's gifts mailed to them, so at least that's taken care of! Now I just have to focus on wrapping my husband and daughter's gifts.  Someone once suggested to me to assemble the toys before christmas so that christmas day the kids can just play with them, so I'm going to give that a shot this year since her big gift needs some assembly. Hopefully it'll still fit in the box, haha!

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite holiday movie? this is my question and I'm not even sure I have a good answer lol.  It used to be home alone 2 or rudolph and frosty's christmas in july.  Lately I haven't watched either very consistently but I think it would still be one of those two.

@mvt2003 ugh I hate that you have to do the 3 hour a second time!

@kloe818 lol my belly is starting to get in my way, I end up bumping into things because I forget I can't just lean over for things anymore

@princessjenney I'm glad the baby is ok, will the cyst go away on its own?

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Gizmo!

Upcoming appointments: nothing til around mid Jan I don’t think

How are you feeling?: good actually. A bit of heartburn catches me out every now and then and my stomach is definitely feeling heavy when I roll over, but definitely can’t complain!

Rants/Raves: My city has been in lockdown the last few weeks and it’s extending province wide on Boxing Day. I’m frustrated watching people not comply when we’ve been stuck at home for so long. On the plus side, I’m off work for the rest of the month and MIL watched DD1 yesterday and I was obscenely productive in getting all of my errands done, as I can’t take her out with me during the week to do them.

    Questions:

GTKY: What is your favorite holiday movie? I’m not sure I actually have one, but we almost always watch the Santa Clause with Tim Allen on Christmas Eve because it’s MIL’s favourite.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: not sure!

Upcoming appointments: 12/30 for 1 hr glucose test

How are you feeling?: nervous for the 1 hr test. I have a sweet tooth to begin with and then throwing all the holiday treats in, I could see myself failing.

Rants/Raves: I basically haven't slept the past 2 nights. I don't know what is going on, but I just keep tossing and turning. And I am starting to feel perpetually hungry.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Baby is as long as a spaghetti noodle (but quite a bit fatter, I hope!)

Upcoming appointments: Jan 12 for 32 week growth check ultrasound and regular OB visit

How are you feeling?: I knew in my head that pregnant people get very large and uncomfortable, but for some reason couldn't really get my head around that happening to me. Well, guess who's feeling large and uncomfortable?! I can't imagine this continuing for another 11 weeks. I don't have any skin left to stretch out. I'm still having reflux issues, mostly in the wee morning hours (pun intended :)) Mild constipation continues, but I'm keeping the worst at bay, I think, with Miralax. No hemorrhoids yet, but I did order a sitz bath and some fancy soak on the recommendation of a friend. That should be helpful for postpartum healing, even if I don't need it right now.

Rants/Raves: Rave - I get the rest of the week off after today. Christmas will be all-virtual, but my mother-in-law is dropping off Christmas dinner fixings. (Pre-)Rant - My husband and I are going to IKEA tomorrow to look at nursery stuff. I've heard an IKEA trip is the real test of a relationship so fingers crossed it goes okay!  :D

GTKY: What is your favorite holiday movie? A Muppet Christmas Carol and Home Alone are both great and have strong nostalgia for me. I also watch a fair number of Hallmark-style Christmas movies during the season, I'm a bit embarrassed to admit.

@juliebeannn I'm so sorry you have to go back for the 3 hour glucose test! Mine was 135 and my doc's office hasn't said anything about coming back in for the 3 hour test, so hopefully I'm in the clear. 137 does seem awfully low to put you through the extended testing, especially during COVID times.

@mvt2003 Yes to the multiplying shipping boxes! Between doing most shopping online and stuff from our baby registry starting to get delivered, it feels a bit overwhelming.

@kloe818 I wish I could use my belly to bully my cat out of the way. Instead, she seems to have not even noticed it and just climbs all over and digs her paws in it, anything to make HER more comfortable.

@princessjenney OMG, a leaking belly button  :o I'm glad it's not infected and you are doing okay!

@xvividash I got my rhogam shot last visit, and the nurse kept pre-apologizing for how painful it was going to be. It wasn't bad at all, no more pain than a flu shot. I wish she hadn't hyped it up so much.

@manillabar I think the pre-assembly tip is a good idea if you can manage it. I got my nephews kid smartwatches a few years ago, and charged them up the night before I wrapped them. It was so fun that they got to play with them right away!

@jfcmomoftwo I'm also ready for the pregnancy to be over, but I don't feel ready for the baby yet...

@finnflan I feel you with the frustration of people not complying with distancing/masking. I'm rarely on facebook, but when I am I see all these pictures of people having large, maskless gatherings. So frustrating.

@duhduhduck Good luck on the glucose test! I've been eating vastly more carbs and sugar during this pregnancy than I normally do, and tested at 135, so hopefully you'll be okay as well.

How are you feeling?: much better. Mostly recovered from covid. Sorry I’ve been MIA.

Rants/Raves: rant is that I really want to quit my job. I’m just done. I know I’m a broken record. Problem is that I just started this job in September lol, but I started it before knowing 100 percent that I was moving across the country. Now that I know we’re moving (just need to find a house ugh), plus will be out on unpaid maternity soon, it’s hard to find motivation to stay there but I feel so guilty quitting. And I don’t like burning bridges and this just feels like that even though I can’t control the fact that we’re moving. Rave: I have off until Monday ha.

  • @treebagel I'm glad your are feeling better!
  • Hello everyone, just popping back in real quick to give an update on our little one. I can’t really remember what I shared before I left here, but I believe it was about her measuring behind. Baby was about 15 days behind at my 20 week scan, and has continued to get further behind since then (we’re now at 31 days behind as of my last appointment on Saturday). I think we’re officially naming it IUGR. I’ve had numerous tests done to rule out all sorts of possibilities. Nothing has come back for any of them, really, so it’s looking like an issue with the placenta. We’re now monitoring her weekly and planning for an early delivery. She’s currently still not quite measuring 24 weeks, though she should be over 27 by now, so our goal at the moment is to get her to 24 weeks minimum before we can deliver, but of course we’re going to keep her in as long as she’s doing okay.
The other thing was a couple “mild” issues we found with her heart. I saw a cardiologist for a fetal echo yesterday, and they found some things they’re not really worried about yet, but we’re going to do a follow up in about 3 weeks. At that point, if those issues haven’t cleared up on their own, I’ll probably be delivering at a children’s hospital about 2 hours from here.

That’s all we really know for now, and we’re just praying for continued growth for her, for a good follow up with the cardiologist, and for a safe delivery as close to my due date as we can get.

OK so all the cats still walk all over me, but if one's standing on the bed, I can bump her with the belly and she gets out of the way until I even remotely lay down and will attempt to climb on me while I'm still tucking pillows in.
