Any new symptoms this week? Insomnia (hence the really early posting) and weird dreams. I was startled awake this morning by a dream about going to a diner and trying to decide between two different types of deep fried pickle sandwiches, I ended up choosing the one that had cheese on it.
I’m also starting to feel a little bunged up, which is not helping the bloating situation.
Questions/concerns? Not that I can think of this morning.
Some occasional nausea but not bad by any means, I would say my breasts are a bit more tender, and this morning they are itchy. The lower back pain has intensified, but that might be because of my 2 hour nap on the couch yesterday haha.
I'm also still experiencing a runny nose, vivid dreaming, and I'm both exhausted and can't sleep at the same time.
Also @pickle-chips I am now thinking about fried pickles at 8:30 AM 😂 I love all things brined/in vinegar, and we have a whole bin of various pickles and olives in our fridge.
Questions/concerns?
Nope, I do think I'm holding onto this assumption that the next week will start to show more severe symptoms, it seems like a lot of moms report 6 weeks being when things picked up.
Any new symptoms this week? The insomnia is hopefully gone! Little bouts of nausea and food aversion but that's it. Really nothing that would tell me I'm pregnant if I didn't have those pretty pink lines on my tests.
Any new symptoms this week? Ongoing nausea and fatigue. I'm noticing more vivid dreams, and some random hip/ back pain. I'm constipated off and on, and my boobs hurt a lot. MH says they are bigger finally (i keep asking and he keeps saying no)
Questions/concerns? Based on what others are putting, back pain is normal early on? I would have thought it would come later when my center of gravity changed. I've had 2 back surgeries, so my back hurts a bit on its own, and I felt like I was crazy attributing this pain to pregnancy.
Any new symptoms this week? Not really. A felt a bit more tired a few days this week but that’s it.
Questions/concerns? Not really. My doctor said that not having symptoms isn’t a sign that anything is wrong. It just doesn’t feel real yet because it doesn’t feel like anything has changed!
Symptoms? All. Day. Nausea. Poor sleep. Constant congestion. I’ve also had some orthostatic blood pressure shifts that have been really frustrating.
This is my 5th pregnancy (3 living children) and this is the first time I’ve ever had nausea like this.. which I know I’m lucky for that part but man I wasn’t ready! Blehhhhhhhhh.
Symptoms? I can really tell my body is working hard growing a baby from scratch! I appreciate it more this time. Same symptoms as with my first, in 2016. Fatigue, bloating, pressure, gas pain, very hungry and nausea. Light exercise is actually helping with the abdominal discomfort!
Questions: Not really! Fully embracing the feed/breed and rest/digest and bracing myself for when the real fun begins, which was for me was week 6-14.

@shoogapoff back pain has really been my only symptom - esp lower back! I starting getting it before I knew I was pregnant .. like maybe 11dpo and it hasn’t really stopped.
How far along? 5 weeks 3 days
symptoms? Back pain that comes and goes. Insomnia. Nothing else. No bloating, nausea, nada. I had horrible morning sickness w my last and vomited constantly but I’m trying to remind myself it’s still really early on!
Any new symptoms this week? My boons are super full feeling and sore. I can no longer go without support at night and had to pull out an old nursing bra to sleep in. The nausea is getting worse earlier than with my first so that’s sucky. The lower back aches are a new one this pregnancy- I don’t remember it happening this early with my DD or my last pregnancy.
Concerns- my dogs will not stop getting under my feet. My girl gsd guards me from my boy gsd when I am laying in bed. And they both are constantly as close to me as they can get. I worry once I have a belly and won’t be able to see them as well that it can get more dangerous
Any new symptoms this week? Hungry ALL THE TIME no matter how big a meal I just had, my stomach will still start grumbling 2-3 hours later. Last night I woke up at 2am absolutely starving and had to have crackers in bed! Some nausea when my stomach is empty and need a lot more food before feeling full. Insomnia - always tired but can't seem to get good quality sleep. Constipated 🙈. Boobs are sore, especially at night.
Questions/concerns? None for now, just trying to choose healthier snacks to avoid gaining a ton of weight in this first couple weeks already!
still having very few symptoms. Definitely exhausted and have that crazy first trimester sleep pattern where I sleep like a log. Also some fun cravings which I love honoring 🤣
Any new symptoms this week? Really tired and constant nausea. Also (TMI) my urine smells weird? I’m not sure if it is my bloodhound nose or just increased hormones but yeah...pretty gross
Questions/concerns? See above re: urine. I plan to mention it to my doc at my first appt.
@claireloSC already suggested Colace for constipation, I’d also recommend investing in a Squatty Potty if you don’t already have one! You can also just use a stool or something that props your feet up to a squatting position. It’s also great for those first few postpartum BMs
7 weeks on the nose and I’m dying over here. In the last 24 hours I went from mild nausea to having to sleep and work with a bucket right next to me because I keep gagging and throwing up the smallest sips of water. My mom had severe hyperemesis and I’m so scared that’s what this is. 😩😩😩
@surrenderdorothy perhaps you can try ginger ale or seltzer? Peppermint tea also. Gotta keep some fluids down so you can feel better. Sorry you're suffering.
Married DW 08.2013; AI 2x; IUI 6x; IUI #7 05.2015; DD born 2.2016 ; Reciprocal IVF FET #1 on 11.18.2020
@surrenderdorothy I had HG with both of my girls. With my first I boiled water and threw in some ginger root and just sipped on it slowly throughout the day. It worked enough to keep it down...even if nothing else...with my second it was diluted sour cherry juice...and also small sips throughout the day. I'm so sorry you are dealing with this. Can you ask you doctor if you can try some medication? I know it takes the edge off for many people.
@surrenderdorothy with my first I took Bonjesta (similar to diclegis but it worked better for me) every day for 25 weeks. It kept my puking to 1-2x a day, max. I wouldn’t have survived without it
@surrenderdorothy I feel you. My nausea is horrible just like with my daughter. I'm not a puker though. I have to be realllllllly ill to throw up so I just gag and dry heave. I just started drinking ginger ale, it helps a little but then I'm back to being nauseous. Wish I had a trick to share
Thanks ladies. Today was marginally better than yesterday (only threw up twice... small victory I suppose.) Definitely picking up ginger ale and some ginger root at the store tomorrow per the suggestions above. My first appt is 12/29 so I’ll discuss with my doc. I was able to keep fluids down so that is what I am concentrating on so I don’t get dehydrated.
My poor husband’s only consolation to not seeing his parents for Christmas is that we are going to make all his family holiday favorites. There is 0% chance I’ll want to touch any of it. 😐
7w2d nausea has really been increasing the last few days. Also my dad is visiting for Christmas (driving distance and he lives alone and we all quarantined) and we haven’t told him so I’m like exhausted trying to hide my nausea and exhaustion.
I’m so tired, especially later in the day and trying to do Christmas for my 2 kids is taxing. At least we have a week and half off of virtual kindergarten!
Question: for some reason the thing that helps with both nausea and congestion/allergies are cough drops with menthol. I’m trying not to have too many, but I hope they’re ok to use.
@pickle-chips Thanks for starting. I suspect I will be a frequent symptoms poster, since I had severe food aversions and nausea with my 2016 pregnancy.
I am 5w6d and my nausea and food aversions have returned full force. I basically have the stomach flu and a growing list of food that I can't keep down. I was actually proud that I was able to hide all of this during my families' Zoom call.
I started 25mg of B6 3x/day with unisom at night a few days ago.

@pickle-chips the heartburn is the worst. Last time it seemed to pickup once my nausea ended (had it the last 1/2 of the pregnancy) this time it’s already starting and it’s for the most random reasons/foods- nothing that typically has given me heartburn in the past. I hope yours didn’t last too long.
@pickle-chips sorry you are dealing with heartburn. It is the worst. What helps me is sleeping with an extra pillow so I’m at a bit of an incline. Hope you get some relief soon.
Yesterday I was complaining that I had no symptoms so pregnancy insomnia showed it face and I was wide awake from 2-4am. Then I woke up with sore boobs! Hooray!

Nausea and some dry-heaving. This is my fourth pregnancy (two living children) and the nausea has hit me EVERY time at six weeks on the dot.

Mild period-like cramping, lower back soreness, and just being tired. I didn’t get hungry til 3 pm today, so I need to work on eating more.

@emily1052 ugh same! Earlier this week I was desperately googling stretches to relieve gas pain.
Then I woke up with sore boobs! Hooray!
