So I’ve been reading The Period Repair Manual and she says to chart your heaviest day of bleeding as day 1. Wondering if anyone does it that way? I tend to have a couple of days of light flow at the beginning of AF but now I’m thinking that it should be marked as spotting.

@fameonmain2 Spotting isn’t suppose to be charter as CD1 but any type of flow is CD1 for me. I usually have a slow start and then heavy flow begins CD2. It won’t hurt for you to do that. I personally don’t because I like to see a full picture of my period when I look at my chart.

@fameonmain2 I call CD1 as soon as I see drop of blood dripping into the toilet. Before starting medicated cycles, I used to get a few days of spotting before start, but that was only visible on toilet paper when I wiped. I didn’t call that flow. Every one’s cycle is different and it also changes over time. I also found that medicated cycles mess everything up for me. The important thing though it to pick a method and stick to it!

Thank you @acleverusername! Your unmedicated cycles sound a lot like mine.. I’ll generally have a few days of it when I wipe/maybe a little in my underwear before getting any dripping in the toilet.
