@gingermama29 right? And my comment wasn't even necessarily directed at anyone. It was more a speaking out loud kind of thing. And really, if you're going to give me a warning, shouldn't it have been for use of bad language?

Having got that, it made me realize that they really aren't using the "closed due to unwelcoming tone" reason anymore. Just hashing out warnings left and right instead.

It's a shame we can't freely speak. It's disappointing that we need to censor ourselves when it's not like you have non-adults using TB.

@inthewoods23 It really is a shame. This place used to be a lot more fun; it was more diverse in thoughts & comments. I see that in the past, users were able to throw around cuss words wherever they wanted (which I appreciate because I have the mouth of a sailor😆). Sure, the snark was a bit extreme at times, but I’d happily take that board tone over the censorship that now exists.

inthewoods23 I got a warning too titled "you've been warned." I felt like my response to that really rude person's thread was so tame. I would rather at least earn my warning and do something worse or bold. 

All I said was "Wow, such hateful and immature comments. I hope you teach your children to be better human beings than you are being here."

And the kicker is...I am the one who reported the thread to have it removed!! I guess I am the one to fault for our warnings in a weird way since I alerted them to it. Sorry all.

So... on my personal laptop, I am here.  But on my work laptop, friends still reign.  So, I totes need to follow @acleverusername and have everyone have same passwords.  Except I create these things randomly, and can't remember what PW I used when because I'm always just logged in.  *le sigh*  I need to be less useless here.... and writing down the sign-in and PW is great, but then I gotta remember where I wrote it when I need it MONTHS later.  *sigh*

It definitely used to be pretty snarky and vulgar on some of the boards @keikilove. Seems like over sensoring. I saw the thread and she was hateful but no one here was, seeing what prompted it and her responses!

Can I just vent a minute and reiterate how much my employer is pissing me off this week? This evening the email finally goes out with instructions for scheduling the COVID vaccine. Yay! Oh wait, everyone but me got the email. In the time it took for me to get information on how to book it, all the spots for the next two weeks in our area are taken. When I am finally able to schedule for an hour away on Friday night, I’m getting a warning saying I’m not eligible. Annoying, but I figure it is a clerical error we can fix. So I call HR to figure out why I didn’t get the email, and am told that I am not eligible because I am currently on maternity leave. So now I had to explain why that is not the case, and still have to drive an hour each way to get the vaccine on Friday or wait another 2 weeks. Since I want to start trying again, this means I guess I’m going on a road trip Friday!

Oh wow @fitzfizz. It sounds like they dropped the ball but I’m glad you’ll at least be able to get it. 

I hope it’s ok to link this, but here is a good article from the American College of Gynecologists on the vaccine. Purely information sake. I thought it was a good, unbiased article regarding pregnant and breastfeeding women. It’s definitely a personal decision and the authors end wIth that women who choose not to take it should be supported.

@emmylou78 Yeah, I read that and actually talked with my OB today so I’m currently planning to start trying again next month. I still think I’ll feel better knowing that I already had the vaccine, but the evidence is reassuring so far.

@fitzfizz I am so sorry you had to go through that. HR most everywhere is super useless. Like... they're supposed to be the most understanding of ppl in a workplace; the NICEST people... and then go and pull shit like that?! New term for HR should be IR == inhuman resources. Fûćking hell; I'm so mad at them for you. Sending you all of the creepy and non-creepy internet hugs. Enjoy your road trip on Friday?

@acleverusername Yeah, HR is always a shyte show!  I work for the govt. and I swear it's EXTRA useless where we are.  Our running 'joke' is that when you call HR about an issue, they just keep telling you to call someone else within HR.  For WEEKS (case NO one can get back to you the same day, obviously), and then after weeks of that, someone inevitably tells you to call the first person you called/talked to.  I swear, they just continually 'pass the buck' until you get so frustrated you go away...

@capnjackharkness my friend is currently on a leave from a provincial govt agency in Canada due a mental health crisis (caused by work). The HR lady had the audacity to tell her that she should meditate. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

This feels like the right place to complain about work. In past 3 days my school has released three different schedules and made teachers change their plans 3 different times, the last of which happening an hour ago with their decision to go remote with a (3rd) totally different schedule. WHY. And here I am rewriting my plans at 7:30 at night...
