How are your other kids doing this week? It’s been a strange week but she’s done really well. We had an SLP assessment and while there weren’t any pleasant surprises, I’m really glad we are being followed now. 

Rants/Raves: I’ve been parenting solo this week, exhausted, dealing with work crap and a snowstorm but honestly, we are doing fine. I’m pretty tous of us. 🙂

Concerns/Questions: none

GTKY: Have you finished your holiday shopping? almost. Like 97.5% done. I do have one diy left though that’s been a bit more time consuming than anticipated. 😬

How many kids do you already have? Ages? DS is 5.5 and DD is 4

How are your other kids doing this week? Good. DD had to get a couple fillings done this past week, and she did a great job for her first time getting numbed! 

Rants/Raves: No rants, but my rave is that I found out I am able to WFH again part time since Covid cases are getting bad in my area. I was about to run out of PTO, so if I wasn’t able to WFH I would have been taking it unpaid.

GTKY: Have you finished your holiday shopping? Almost. I went out this morning solo to Target to grab a bunch of things I still needed to get. I think all I have left is a couple random things for DH.

@daisy528 congrats on getting to work from home pt again.  Must be a huge relief!

@becks_726 congrats on making it happily through the week.  It can be so tough on your own, especially in the first tri.

How many kids do you already have? Ages? 3- Daughter is 7, sons are almost 6 and 2

How are your other kids doing this week? 
They have been fabulous!  Granted they are all excited for their last week of school a d a visit from Santa.  I love their magic this time of year.
  I'm excited to tell them about the baby next month...we are planning to wait until our tests come back from our ultrasound and bloodwork.  We will see hoe magical they are when they have to start sharing rooms haha

Rants/Raves: my hubby let me sleep through dinner prep and dinner last night.  I woke up for bath and bedtime with the kiddos.  It was perfect 

Concerns/Questions: sometimes I freak about how I'm actually going to handle another kid.  I feel scattered alot now and I worry.  My other concern is telling family and getting the eye rolls or was this planned speech.  It's making it easy to not tell anyone

@becks_726 my 20 mo DD is starting speech again tomorrow. We were doing it before, started at 13 mo bc I knew she was behind by 8 mo (DS had a speech delay too). It’s a bummer they need it but also feels good to get them what they need, such complicated feelings!

How are your other kids doing this week? They’re good, we had a really nice day today going on a fun walk. DD is starting speech tomorrow which she’ll do 2x/week and I’m waiting for a PT to call me back. She won’t walk or talk 🙄
Rants/Raves: I’m just generally irritable right now. But raving about DH because he does his best to satisfy my cravings and never says no. I try to be reasonable but he has def made a 40 min round trip to get me something I DESPERATELY NEEDED right away 😂
Concerns/Questions: not really. I finally have my first appointment tomorrow and feeling low key anxious

@DuchessOfCambridge we did PT before speech. My DD’s gross motor delays were obvious around 8-9 months and I thought she’d be headed towards speech at some point by then too but her speech delays were more in the grey zone and then the pandemic hit and services got delayed. Anyway, I hope you hear from the PT soon. We’ve been told repeatedly those two things can be interconnected.

How are your other kids doing this week? We had a great weekend. I took him to Target yesterday and let him ride in the cart for the first time, and he LOVED it. He was waving to anyone we passed and pointing to everything asking what it was.  
Rants/Raves: I just did the finger prick for the Peekaboo test, so I should "know" by the end of the week if this baby is a boy or girl! (But won't paint the nursery or anything until we'd confirm at the anatomy scan).

How are your other kids doing this week? he’s good! I found a new allergy for him so that’s annoying but he’s such a ball of sunshine. We moved him to a booster seat at the table and my heart can’t handle how big he is getting. 

Rants/Raves: we are entering lockdown tonight until January 19. Everything is shut. Schools, daycares, everywhere. 😞😞😞😞 it sucks that because of people who can’t follow rules, we all suffer.

@AKuzReve We shut down starting last Monday, but we don’t go until mid Jan like you guys. It’s hard for sure and I’m so looking forward to returning to some normalcy (hopefully by the time our babies arrive?? 🤞🤞)

How are your other kids doing this week? He’s been waking up 5:15/5:30 and it’s made the mornings so hard. He typically wakes up around 6 so it’s not even that much earlier but it feels like the middle of the night 😅
Rants/Raves: After a full weekend of gray clouds and rain, it’s sunny and warm today!

GTKY: Have you finished your holiday shopping? I’ve mailed out all the presents to my family which is always the most time consuming. Now I gotta get stuff for hubs and stocking stuffers. This is pretty early for me, usually I’m running around like crazy the week before Christmas 😅.

@becks_726 yes my DD has been behind too! But she kept catching up with motor skills on the later end of normal so we left her (we meaning me and my pedi) but we talked about how she was doing often. DS also went through PT starting at a few weeks old so I knew a lot of the baby exercises. He was motivated to walk though and worked for it. This girl won’t haha

@daisy528, yay for getting to WFH! 

@navete, here's hoping! Hard juggling 2 full time jobs and minimal childcare. With no family help and being expats in a foreign country, all of this is extra difficult. 

I know this may be a typical STM worry but does anyone worry that the next baby won't be as amazing as the 1st? My DS is an angel baby. Sleeps well, chill, and quite easy (outside of the health issues and food allergies of course) and we worry constantly that we will always compare this baby to him and be disappointed.

@AKuzReve Our second was sleeping through the night by 4 months I kept waiting for her to stop thinking it was a phase and it wasn't.  She's now 2+ and still is a great sleeper now she just has trouble getting down but when she is down she stays down.

@AKuzReve I remember feeling that way too.  When my second came along, he was amazing in his own ways.  While my daughter slept solid she was a nightmare to put down, my son the opposite.  My third, God help me.  He has been the toughest of the 3 babies.  However he excels where the other 2 didn't.  You might not get a good sleeper or a chill temperament but you will cherish your seconds differences.  I dont find the comparisons I make have been  more about myself then my childrens differences.
