Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW Wednesday 12/9

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

    Month/Cycle: 24/27

    CD/DPO: 21/5

    Timing: EOD

    Typical LP length: 12

    Testing: sometime next week

R/R: I was supposed to be at a client today. They have some people out of the office that have covid so I talked to the HR director and couldn’t get comfortable that the people who were in contact with them are also home so I talked to my boss and he was like forget it. I know they can’t disclose certain things but I just can’t rely on someone saying it’s fine to come without knowing what they are basing that on. I’ll still have to work on it remotely which sucks but is better than getting covid. Back to my bubble I go!

@bows22 glad you get to stay in your bubble today. I agree with you wholeheartedly. I'm not basing my health on someone's random judgement saying "it's fine."

    Month/Cycle: 18/11

    CD/DPO: 25/4

    Timing: good

    Typical LP length: 12-13

    Testing: not sure yet

R/R: We rolled out the sugar cookie cut outs last night. Tonight's task is to make the buttercream frosting and decorate my gingerbreads and sugar cookies. I'll likely take a break from cookies after tonight until the weekend when I make the chocolate peanut butter no bake cookies and chocolate chip. I'm skipping snicker doodles this year because the recipe I have makes SO many!

CS/Q: nice temp spike this morning and O day officially moved from Friday to Saturday.

  • @bows22 good call! Enjoy your bubble today! I'm debating seeing family for Christmas, I'm certainly not going to expose myself to strangers!
@gingermama29 FFWC I don't like snickerdoodles so I'd be for skipping them. No use all that work for yucky cookies  :D
@inthewoods23 I see the Loch Ness Monster! Glad your presentation went well. I am usually presenting about numbers/finance/profitability so no mater how slow I go there's always people who don't understand

    Month/Cycle: 13/13

    CD/DPO: 30/14

    Timing: -1, +1

    Typical LP length: progesterone

    Testing: BFN

R/R: see above. Feeling pretty crappy. I think we might take the next cycle off because FW is going to line up exactly with Christmas and I don't want to have to worry about timing it with the holidays and I might want to step up to IUI. We will see with MH says. I haven't talked to him yet. He went downstairs to work so I had a good lonely cry. Beta tomorrow "just in case it was a false negative." Hmm unlikely. I wish I could just stop the progesterone today but they want me to keep taking it until after the beta, you know JIC. I just want this to be over already.

  • @gingermama29 that's so many cookies! oh my. My mom has a kolache cookie recipe that I swear makes like 6 dozen cookies. It's insane.

@krash_ mine was a technical presentation so I wouldn't be surprised if some people didn't quite get all of what I was saying either lol. Sending hugs for your 1 year "anniversary"  :'(

  • @bows22 yay for an understanding boss and going back to your bubble! We’ve had a few people test positive who have been in our office (coming in to the office is voluntary and if you do it’s an every other week rotation).  One of the managers in my department has started using the language of “strongly encouraging” people to come i. He’s been pretty tone-deaf about it too, sharing his message the day after it was announced the office would be closed for a day to do a deep clean (which means someone tested positive again).  Having an understanding boss who doesn’t seem clueless to the overall scenario is definitely nice during these times.

@gingermama29 I definitely would need a break after all that cookie backing as well.  I don’t usually do specific cookies at Christmas time, one of my aunts always give out the family recipes as her Christmas present so it would feel weird to make them this year even though we’re probably not getting any from her since we won’t be seeing her.

@inthewoods23 hooray for a good presentation! I have the exact same problem during presentations, my director always gives me a hard time about it afterwards, but at least in a joking way lol.  And, that chart is definitely Nessie!  :D

@krash_ I’m sorry it was a lonely cry morning, those are absolutely the worst. Sending many hugs.  I can definitely see your point about trying to schedule timing around holiday, plus they’re usually stressful overall even when they’re not during a pandemic.  Here’s hoping you and yh are on the same page for the conversation and it goes the way you want.

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD/DPO: 17/5

    Timing: good

Typical LP length: 13 I think

    Testing: Next Wednesday

R/R: I have a dentist appt this afternoon to repair some old fillings and fix one new cavity.  At my cleaning last month I let them know we were TTC, and yesterday when they called to confirm my appt they said that since I’m TTC they needed me to test today to confirm not pg.  They prefer to do any dental work in 2nd tri and would have rescheduled if needed, but of course no need since I’m only 5DPO.  It’s also my last day of ‘orientation’ at work (I’ve been here over a year), which means my last day of having to start work 3 hours early. I’m super excited about getting my mornings back, its usually when I do most of my misc. things around the house.

    CS/Q: nothing

  • @bows22 so happy that your work is supportive of your decision to not see the client whose approach to Covid is so "hand-wavy"

@gingermama29 since I haven't posted for the last few days, I just wanted to say that it's so nice to see that you've finally O'ed!!! Your chart looks nice.

@inthewoods23 congrats on the presentation having gone well! I too have the speaking too fast issue. Luckily most of my presentations these days are via Zoom, so that makes things easier. Nice looking Nessie over there!

@krash_ sending you support hugs; I'm really sorry this wasn't your cycle. I think with a mild MFI, an IUI is the right approach. Of course, it's way more $$$. Also, I celebrated my IUD removal anniversary over the weekend.

@grizzlymama86 hooray for Orientation being over! Did you get to end your day 3 days earlier too? I find it frustrating having to take a PG test "just cause it's the protocol." Do you?

    Month/Cycle: 11/11

    CD/DPO: 18/6

    Timing: IUI so excellent

Typical LP length: 17 on progesterone

Testing: Might hold off until my beta. Save a test. Hehe.

R/R: I've been off TB for the last few days as my work meeting schedule has been INSANE since we're finalizing our quarterly planning. Also, we've launched a major PR campaign last week, in anticipation of our autonomous vehicle reveal next week, so I've spent a lot of time reading all the leaked stories. That's my version of gossip mag.

This Monday was the last session of my "Resilience for the Fertility Journey" group therapy. It was such a rewarding experience to meet others struggling with fertility issues in my area. 3 of us actually had the idea to keep meeting on Monday nights, even though it won't be facilitated by the psychologist so I'm looking forward to continuing to get to know these 5 ladies.

CS/Q: Not charting, but temps are good according to my Oura ring.

  • @grizzlymama86 huh, I did not know about that with dentistry. I know they always stress the importance of having cleanings, but that's interesting that they don't want to do the work in the first trimester. I guess that's often the case.

@acleverusername *immediately googles autonomous vehicle reveal mid december* OOOOOOOHHHHHHHH that's exciting!!! I know who you work for :p I wish the autonomous vehicle or even EV industry would venture into the midwest. Would be awesome to see more of that stuff out here.  DH actually got head-hunted by Tesla a few years ago but declined for a plethora of reasons. We're pretty sure had he kept going in the interview process he would have been offered a job.

Rave: I managed to decide on gifts for my bff's so I got the patterns for those and will *hopefully* cut them out tonight :)

CS/Q: My temp spiked today, but that is likely to actually using blankets last night haha!

@bows22 I am glad that your work is being cooperative about working from home. It really is a blessing even though some days I hate it.

@inthewoods23 yay for Loch ness  and yay for good presentations! The last presenations I had to give were in university a few years back. By the end it was no big deal but in the beginning I would always talk in run on sentences and feel like I never took a breath

    @krash_ snicker doodles are gross)

@krash_ sorry for the one year mark. All the TTC milestones suck :(

@acleverusername that is so nice to have a local support system. I hope you create long lasting bonds with them.

  • @acleverusername based on the billing doc they gave us IUI is only like $300 more than TI because the u/s monitoring is where the majority of the cost lies. The sperm washing and insemination are the only additional costs to what we're already doing.

  • @baby_yoda1986 I miss going into work too, but I also enjoy getting to wake up a little later because there's no commute to my desk at home haha. I'm usually a bundle of nerves before a presentation and get comfortable with it after a few slides. It's a lot easier being online these days not having to worry about eye contact, plus you can have everything written out like a script that you just read.

  • @inthewoods23 glad to hear your presentation went well! And I totally can see the Loch Ness Monster in your chart 🤣

@krash_ sending hugs for your anniversary. I'm sorry for the BFN too.

@grizzlymama86 I hope everything went well at the dentist.

@acleverusername thanks friend. That support system sounds amazing! I'm glad you've found that.

@baby_yoda1986 I can definitely understand missing your work family. Being around my coworkers has definitely made coming back to work easier for me.
  • @inthewoods23 I knew I'd have a fan in you! Regarding Tesla and YH, was "it's a sweatshop" one of the reasons he aborted the interview process?

@baby_yoda1986 I'm with you "why is it only Wed?"; I'm also asking "why is it only Day 6 of TWW"? Today is a struggle-of a day. Please share what you're gifting your bff's on the Crafting thread!

@krash_ that sounds pretty reasonable! I'd say you should go for it. Hopefully you'll get follicles on your "good side" with your next round.

@krash_ So sorry about the BFN and your “anniversary”. ❤️

    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • @acleverusername I did get to end my day earlier, which is not always the case when I have to start earlier. Also probably one of the only reasons my brain is functioning enough to come back for tags tonight lol.  It was definitely frustrating to have to test “just because”, and I think would have been a little more put-off about it if I didn’t have cheapies on hand (wouldn't want to waste the $ when I knew it would come up neg).  Glad you’ve been able to find a good group to connect with and continue to find support!

@baby_yoda1986 I can’t imagine not having blankets unless it’s the dead of summer. I’m usually bundled in socks, flannel pants, a sweatshirt, and alllllllll the covers. I hear you on the missing work family. I was only managing my team for about 4 months before we all got sent home, but we had already built a great rapport. We’d all had a company trip together and it built a good bond.  We’ve lost a lot of that family feel. I try to hold after hours zooms where “beverages are encouraged but not required”, but turnout is not what it would be if they were in person hangouts.  Do you do any virtual after hours things with your work fam?

@gingermama29 all went well! Still talking a bit wonky, I’ll get feeling back on the left side of my face eventually lol
  • @emmylou78 I'm sorry to hear about the family troubles. I think it's well within your right to set your foot down if someone you've welcomed into your home isn't respecting you/it. Though I'm sure it's a tough decision to make / difficult conversation to have. Good luck!

  • @acleverusername I perk up every time EVs and autonomy come up!
    Pin on SNEAKING A PEEK

Tesla is supposed to release some of their FSD so I'm excited to see how well that works - although I think it's technically illegal to use here?? I'm not keeping tabs on that these days.

He was aware of all that, as is the case with SpaceX too. But mostly it was the fact that we'd be moving far away from any family with the closest relatives being my brother, aunt, uncle, and 2 cousins in PHX and an aunt on my side and his side that both live in CO and we wanted to be near family when we started a family. Also the housing difference between where we live to the Palo Alto area is like an 850% increase :o We live on an acre lot right now in a house that's at least 3000sq ft, granted in the burbs, so you KNOW something comparable out there would be multi-millions. And I know they always say they'll pay you fairly for the cost of living in the area, but DH would have needed like over double his salary for us to be living equivalently.

@emmylou78 I think you are well within your rights to "evict". It's your home. GL with that conversation. I'm sure it's tough!

  • @grizzlymama86 usually I'm bundled up but in the tiny house every time the heat kicks on my bedroom ends up roasting.
I think we've had one zoom meeting since March but definitely no after hours stuff. I pop in after I'm off work occasionally to see my favorite people but I have a crew of 45 and haven't seen most of them since March. I do transit dispatch so I rarely saw them before covid.

@acleverusername I will definitely pop them in there when I get started. My printer wouldn't work so I have to go to the outlaws to print later.

  • @baby_yoda1986 LOL... the outlaws?! Did you mean in-laws?!

Ugh I need to be better about getting back here earlier! Sorry I missed you all again today! @gingermama29 snickerdoodles were the one thing I wanted to add this year! I figured it’s a good year to try something new since not many people will be eating them? Haha. Hope you are having fun decorating!
@inthewoods23 glad you rocked your presentation! I’m a fast talker in general so I always stress about talking too fast.
@krash_ I’m so sorry friend ❤️ I was so hopeful for you. I think it makes sense to just take the month off/try on your own so you don’t have to worry about timing things around Christmas. But if you decide to go for it that’s good too! I hope AF comes quickly once you stop the progesterone so that you can move on.
@grizzlymama86 i hope your dentist appt went well! I like going for the cleanings but the rest is not my favorite. I hope everything was quick and easy
@acleverusername i love that you have a local support system! Very cool
@baby_yoda1986 totally agree that this week is forever! I hope you had a productive night with your sewing (I think) projects!
@emmylou78 ugh I’m sorry you are in a tough spot with your niece. That’s rough. I hope you guys can work it out, even if it does mean her moving out
  • Month/Cycle: 1/1

    CD/DPO: 13/2

    Timing: -2, O

    Typical LP length: 14 days

Testing: not doing it (I think, I hope, we shall see)

R/R: I got a pretzel today from Sams Club and wanted dipping cheese (its the little things in life). Well, they have permanently discontinued the cheese. I was bummed. #firstworldproblem

    CS/Q: none

  • @bows22 good thing you were able to work at home!

@emmylou78 eek, good luck with the niece situation 😬

@grizzlymama86 yay for mornings back. Ugh 3 hours early is rough, I am not a morning person at all!

@krash_ Hugs. Not worrying around the holidays is probably good, but also hard to potentially skip a cycle. Sorry you have to keep on the progesterone. Take care of yourself.
