Moms with toddlers: are your kids basically asking for everything they see on TV these days? Every single toy commercial is something my 3yr old wants for Christmas, plus even non-toys (like the navage nasal rinse system  ).  I keep reminding her that we don't always get everything on our list to try and help manage her expectations lol but I feel like this is going to be one looooong month!

@manillabar haha at the nasal rinse 😂😂😂 we’ve been mostly watching Netflix, DVR or commercial free shows so luckily we’ve dodged this problem. But DS (4yo) will ask fir a stuffed whatever character he likes on the shows. Like we watch Star Wars and now he wants every character as a stuffed animal.

@treebagel I was so confused at first because she kept crying, saying that she needed a "blue box" to wash her nose and I had no clue what that meant. Until a commercial for the Navage came on days later and she pointed and said that was what she needed lol

@manillabar I don't think my 3yo gets that the toys in commercials are things he can actually have.  We only watch stuff on youtube for him, so it plays the same 2-3 commercials and he just gets annoyed at them lol. He just says "uh oh!" over and over until I can skip the ad

What is everyone getting their husbands for Christmas? So far I have bought Jack Black shaving products for him, lounge pants/joggers, and three Nike dri fit shirts. He is the hardest person ever to buy stuff for! 

@juliebeannn My daughter watches mostly Youtube or Disney +. We taught her how to skip the commercials herself on Youtube though 😆 

@manillabar That sooo funny about the nasal rinse. 😂 Kids are so funny. My daughter is obsessed with wanting an “ice pack” when she hurts herself so she is ALWAYS hurting herself somehow so she can have one. They become fixated in the funniest things.

@juliebeannn It's wild! I feel like I blinked and it's the end of the year! 

@jenotontx MH is the worst to buy for! He usually tells me what he wants, thankfully. This year I got him a Theragun on Black Friday, which he's been wanting, and some desk accessories for his new standing desk. I'm also buying him an animated fishing lure we saw on Shark Tank haha.

I see you ladies with the hard to shop for hubbies... And raise you a December anniversary on top of Christmas lol. We agreed to do silly little gifts this year for both because we have the little one coming. Then he went out and bought us both new $699 cell phones. I'm growing his gift... That's as good as it is gonna get. 🤣

Seriously though, we decided to do experiences last year and I bought us tickets to a Queen tribute band but their show got cancelled due to the pandemic. He got us sleigh ride tickets but that got cancelled due to mud and rain. This year maybe we'll do the drive thru festival of lights at the big race track?

@kloe818 Normally I love the gift of experiences too, which makes this year extra hard. Last year I bought him good tickets to a WWE show, and it worked out that it was our last evening out before we officially knew our first pregnancy was over. I will always remember it was on February 28, and MH had been paying attention to world news and was wondering if going into a large crowd was a good idea and I dismissed him and told him he was crazy.

My husband isn't big on presents - getting them makes him uncomfortable, and giving them stresses him out. So I decided to make it easy on us this year by unilaterally purchasing our Christmas gift to each other, which was a Solo Stove fire pit. We've only used it once so far, but I'm hoping to get more use soon! I bought s'mores fixings but the chocolate keeps disappearing

DH and I don’t exchange presents but we buy one joint gift of something we can do or use together. We bought Disney + last year as it, not sure what this year’s plan is.

I got my husband a gap sherpa lined jean jacket (it was half off!), that he already knows is coming, and we had to replace our coffee maker again so we got a nicer one this time. But other than that I'm with @kloe818, his present is currently residing in my belly and that better be good enough. I feel bad for my daughter though, because she's at that age where she's starting to request more expensive things (like air pods 🙄) and that's just not in the budget right now. Mom guilt is REAL.

@princessjenney My husband and I don’t always do gifts for Christmas. We go back and forth depending on the year. We have decided to buy bigger items for the house instead but this year we decided to do gifts. I already know what he got me!

My husband is getting a new wallet and some winter running gear. Usually he tells me what he wants but we’ve both been pretty “meh” about gifts this year so I figured I’d get him that stuff. Which I only thought of after hearing someone else was getting that for their spouse, haha.

@princessjenney how old is your daughter again? Do you think she’d be ok with wireless earbuds that are not AirPods? 

ETA: I got some from Amazon that work pretty well that we’re more like $30something if I remember correctly. I couldn’t justify the AirPod price for myself lol

@mvt2003 I found out my first pregnancy this year ended on 2/28. I'm sorry we're sisters in that club.

@manillabar she's 10 and a half... I honestly think she'd lose them. But if I could find a decent inexpensive pair, I'd be more inclined to get some... I'll take a look on Amazon, thank you 😊

We bought a google nest camera to use as a baby monitor. But for now we are using it to watch the dog during the day.
