Re: Product Spotlight 11/23: Maternity Clothes and Pillows

  • Lululemon align leggings are the best for pregnancy and normal life. I live in them.

I like Seraphine jeans and I like H&M Maternity line for some cheaper stuff (I also live in their nursing tanks, which are also great for pregnancy).

U shaped maternity pillow was the best for me so I didn't have to worry about turning and re-adjusting.

  • @AKuzReve I've heard amazing things about Align but I have never actually bought a pair of Lululemons before. How would you size these for pregnancy?  I'm fairly tall at 5'9 and approx 155lbs.  Is there a good conversion chart?  I would have to order online and hate dealing with returns.

@AKuzReve @tiggywiggles Yes for the Align leggings - I am in them right now.  I usually wear a size 6 but last pregnancy bought a size 8 and they lasted me until about 25ish weeks I think probably - did have to upgrade to real full-panel maternity leggings at some point.  I'm 5'4" and 124lbs pre pregnancy.  Also - these leggings are AMAZING for post-partum as well - I lived in these for the first 6 months after birth.

Edit to add the maternity pillow: I have the Snoogle - I hated sleeping in it until I was about 35 weeks and then couldn't sleep without it.  I found it too hot and constricting, but then there comes a point where the support is really needed.  I did the pillow under the belly, behind the back, and between the legs until the Snoogle became comfortable.

  • I only wear Align leggings anyways but they’re perfect for maternity. I stayed in my normal size for my last 2 pregnancies.

I had the snoogle the last 2 times and got a U-shaped this time around. The u-shaped is amazing. I’m actually still laying in it right now. At noon. With a bagel.

Guys I just went online to look at align leggings.... There's like a million types!  Joggers, leggings, II, then there are lengths.  Can someone help a girl out?
  • @tiggywiggles I think these regular high-rise ones are the ones I have:
Align High Rise Pant 25" *Cool | Women's Leggings | lululemon

They've definitely expanded their Align range since last time I purchased - shows that it's the best LOL.  I think all the align versions have the same amazing soft fabric though (which is the true reason for purchase) so you probably wouldn't go wrong with any of the options.

  • @tiggywiggles, I wear a size 4 or 6 and I’m 5’2, 125lbs.

I’d get the align pant 28” ones if I were you. Good starting point. They seriously feel buttery soft.

  • Does anyone have recommendations on bras? Is it possible to get some that could be worn throughout pregnancy and for nursing or is getting different ones for the different times a good idea? I’m getting more and more sore and fuller already so don’t know how much longer I’ll be able to stick with my current bras.
  • I honestly can’t remember the last time I wore a bra (august? September?). I do get cheap ones from H&M because not worth a hefty investment to me.

  • For bras, I bought these over the summer. While they aren’t exactly the most supportive, they are super comfortable and I keep reaching for them over my other bras right now since my nipples are so sensitive.

  • I’m 5’3” 125ish and do the align 25” in a size 4 and make sure they’re high rise. I also like the wonderunders but more for daily wear. They’re thicker and not as athletic material.
  • I had a c-shaped pregnancy pillow with both my other kids but with my second it gave me migraines to use it so I switched to a body pillow and I’ve been using it even after I gave birth... last year 😂 I am a proud member of the IBTC so I mainly wear bralettes. I like the Momanda nursing ones on Amazon. I’m weird about clothing in my armpits and those go low enough on the sides that they don’t bother me. As far as maternity clothing goes, I go cheap with motherhood maternity. I like their leggings “pants”. I feel like the rest of my wardrobe is pretty whatever but it gets the job done.

  • Sorry for the drive by/barging in. Lurking from August 21 - just wanted to say Asos is having a huge sale on everything, but a lot of the maternity is super cheap today and I loved their stuff during a previous pregnancy.

Pink Blush is also having a sale but their stuff is pricier and in my experience runs small.

Promise I won't butt into your board again but wanted to share!

  • @claireloSC I am here for the ASOS sale 🙌🏽

  • These were my favorite nursing bras because they were very thin and felt like I wasn’t wearing anything. My breasts jumped about 2 cups sizes during my first pregnancy and I didn’t know what to do with them as someone whose been part of the itty bitty club for their whole life   :D they’re very inexpensive and comfy, the only thing was I had to wear nursing pads in them or they don’t do much for leakage

  • I also wanted to leave this here since someone asked about it on the questions page too..

Target and I think Walmart do trade ins for car seats even if they’re expired about twice a year, the first is generally in the spring so will most likely be April. A great way to dispose of one that can’t be used anymore (they recycle them) and get something that is up to date. We will most likely be doing this with our car seat from DD in the spring because I’m questioning the expiration date on it.

Here is the link for Target info:

I couldn’t find a link for Walmart, but there are a few articles published if you do a quick google search!
  • I work outside the home full time and have a subscription to StitchFix.  I loved a lot of what they sent me during my last pregnancy.  Some stuff is a little pricy, but well made and comfortable.  My referral code if anyone is interested:  https://www.stitchfix.com/invite/gsyj8vbywp?sod=i&som=c

  • @pharmd93 I didn't purchase any nursing or normal bras during pregnancy because my bust and cup size grew so much, I didn't want to waste the money. I just wore comfortable sports bras. You could also get bra band extenders if cup size isn't changing too drastically. I went from a 34B to 38DD when my milk came in. Then Covid hit so I spent the first 6 months of motherhood braless anyway haha. I have a couple nursing bras now, but honestly I feels like the bra gets in DS's way so I just lift the whole thing up and out of the way. I am also not shy while nursing my child though so that might play into it as well.
