  • @juliebeannn I'm so sorry your ulcer is still being a pain! Hopefully it actually heals quickly!!! I get kind of overwhelmed thinking about how much longer I have to go, and how anxious I'll be for those 17 weeks!

I'm more thinking of putting a sweater or a blanket on top of a short sleeved outfit, and now that you've mentioned it I ran very hot as a child, so there's a decent probability that the girls will too!

  • @mvt2003 I'm tempted some days to leave the pregnancy groups I follow on Facebook because of the ladies going preterm!!! SO scary.

@juliebeannn I hope you feel completely back to normal with no fear of eating very soon!! Can't imagine. :(

@princessjenney That had to be such a sweet moment when your husband felt Teddy for the first time! <3 Can't wait to share that moment with my love.

@clevans1 I'm right there with you with the pelvic pain. :# My tailbone hurts so stinking bad some nights. My OB said heat helps a lot. I haven't tried it yet though.

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 3/22 and 22w

    FTM/STM/STM+: FTM

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Blue

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Water bottle

    Upcoming appointments: 12/1

How are you feeling?: If I do a lot of activity my back and pelvis complain, haha. I feel like an old lady trying to get up once I sit down.  :D

Rants/Raves: My rant is I'm getting really concerned about possibly having to deliver this baby with no one at the hospital with me. My boyfriend is having a heck of a time trying to transfer out here. I don't know what I'm going to do. My rave is I saw my son VISIBLY kick yesterday!! I'm feeling my little guy so much more often!! Feeling him makes me so very happy.

Questions: When is stupid COVID going to be over!? I'm so over it. :|

GTKY: I know this year may look different, but what are some of your favorite holiday traditions? Honestly just spending it with my family and making all the same dishes every year we love makes me happy. :)
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 24+2 / March 7

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: girl

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: bunny

Upcoming appointments: 1 hour glucose test next week - here’s hoping there’s no need for the 3 hour!

How are you feeling?: good actually. I sort of forget I’m pregnant sometimes

Rants/Raves: this is actually a rave, weirdly enough.  Pre-COVID, we had actually decided that we were stopping all of our maddening running around on Christmas Day as of this year, and had offered my mum a non-Christmas day where she could celebrate with us the whole day rather than just for like an hour before we had to dash somewhere else. She really resisted it and made a big deal about how important it was to see us on the day. COVID may actually have made this transition a whole lot easier as she’s already said she doesn’t expect to be able to see us in person now (we don’t see my sister and her kids as they’re in school and we don’t want the exposure, and my mum sees them, so we also don’t see my mum currently). So...weird positive from COVID I guess? Downside is obviously that we won’t get to see her in person at all around Christmas, but honestly the nice we’ve had one year without celebrating with her on the day, it’s going to make it so much easier for us to enforce this other years (and give her her own day).

    Questions:

GTKY: I know this year may look different, but what are some of your favorite holiday traditions? We get the Swiss Chalet festive special the night we decorate our tree haha. We’ll do that this year still as it’s takeout.
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 24!

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: baby girl

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a package of oreos! How fun is that lol

Upcoming appointments: fetal echo this friday

How are you feeling?: Same as usual, not much is new on that front. definitely getting more pelvic pain this time around like everyone else

Rants/Raves: Our follow up AS last friday went well! I basically fell apart because it was supposed to be last thursday at 10 except I had it in my phone as 11, and I didn't find out until it was too late so I was just freaking out about missing it and also just not being able to keep track of everything. But thankfully they were able to squeeze me in the next morning and our sitter was able to come watch my daughter so my H could some see the baby as well.

    Questions:

GTKY: I know this year may look different, but what are some of your favorite holiday traditions? Thanksgiving with my family has always been a big deal, we actually usually have a big meal at my dad's church where everyone brings lots of food and I love ti because you have the traditional American thanksgiving foods but also lots and lots of Haitian food and I just love it all! And I'm going to miss it all this year.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: grapefruit

    Upcoming appointments: 11/23 OB visit

How are you feeling?: pretty good. Just heartburn but Pepcid every morning keeps it away, mostly. Blood pressure has been high but not crazy off my BP med.

Rants/Raves: rant is covid is spreading among the staff at my hospital and I’m very nervous about catching it from a coworker. We all wear surgical masks but we’re in close contact for hours and hours in the same operating room. Plus break rooms and lockers rooms etc.

    Questions:

GTKY: I know this year may look different, but what are some of your favorite holiday traditions? I don’t really have any! I don’t see it as a negative. We change up our holidays almost every year and I like that. With DS, I just love to see him happy and around family.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: endive LOL

Upcoming appointments: next Tuesday for a check up

How are you feeling?: Pretty good, just the normal heartburn, sciatica. I've also been feeling really out of breath... sometimes even just sitting or laying in bed, it's a bit uncomfortable, but passes quickly.

Rants/Raves: a rainstorm moved in and I'm absolutely loving it! Just can't wait to get the Christmas decorations up!

    Questions:

GTKY: I know this year may look different, but what are some of your favorite holiday traditions? We have a super small family- by choice, so holidays are always really mellow. My priority is that the holidays never be stressful or overwhelming. We mostly just stay in our PJs, cook and eat yummy food, watch movies all day.  Honestly, nothing is really changing for us :)
  • @jenotontx Congratulations on the promotion!! And brunch at the golf club sounds awesome!
@manillabar American/Haitian Thanksgiving pot luck sounds amazing! Our Thanksgiving meals always turn out to be a mix of traditional American and yummy Korean favorites! I love mixed culture meals!
@jfcmomoftwo Sounds like such a sweet tradition with your husband!! And I totally feel you -- I wish it were March already.  I'm so ready to have this baby lol.
@treebagel Totally don't want to come off as a creeper but I randomly think of you during the day, when I get really uncomfortable, I think "how does she stand in an OR all day?? That's gotta be so hard!!"  And now the added mental/emotional stress of covid running around, thinking of you chica.
@sunny_native14 Sounds like such a nice holiday. Mellow is totally my jam.

  • @juliebeannn some days are less standing and I can sit on a stool for a little, but when I’m scrub nurse it’s literally standing or walking all the time except for my 45 min lunch. My heels hurt so badly by end of day! I might quit soon though idk. We’re supposed to move to Dallas area for DH job after baby arrives. and now with corona plus pregnancy I’m just not feeling the job anymore.
Also I hope your ulcer gets better soon. That’s pain on a whole other level. I’ll be thinking about you too!!

  • @mvt2003 I’ve been seeing lots of posts on preemie day. I totally understand your worries but I think it’s reassuring that we have the technology for safer preterm deliveries.

@princessjenney wow, I wish I had the initiative to start doing the nursery. The spare room still looks like a yard sale. 😂

@xvividash I had the same fear when I was pregnant with DS. SO had to drive six hours overnight to make it for the last 15 minutes of labour. It was so close!

@finnflan I would definitely order the Swiss Chalet festive special if I were in Canada.

@treebagel I think working at a hospital would really wear down on me. So much gratitude for all hospital staff.

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Girl - Holly

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Cantaloupe

Upcoming appointments: Regular prenatal appointment was today and baby girl sounds good.

How are you feeling?: Big. I can't believe I'll get bigger.

Rants/Raves: Rant - related to above. Twice in the past week I've had people at appointments (dentist last week, prenatal this week) tell me "You're about to pop!" and are shocked when I tell them I'm only 6 months. The woman today told me I must be having twins. When I told her no, there was just more of me to start with, she told me to get a second opinion as she got off the elevator on another floor. WOMAN (or another word we sometimes use for women like her), I have been seen at 3 different practices (IVF, OB, MFM) by 4 different doctors and have had no less than 9 ultrasounds. We're sure. I no longer feel like I'm missing something by being shut away at home. I've gotten the "you're too big" judgement.

Questions: Do babies have growth spurts in utero like they do after birth? I mean do they have very sleepy inactive days because they're too tired from all the growing? Forgot to ask the OB.

GTKY: I know this year may look different, but what are some of your favorite holiday traditions?  Decorating the house. Going to hubby's oldest sister's Christmas afternoon for noshing and presents. She has this INSANE Christmas village that takes up the whole dining room and has multiple levels and a train that goes all the way though. I want to read Holly Twas the Night Before Christmas every year so I just ordered it to start this year.
  • I’m not sure where to share this so I’ll just put it here. I had my high risk appointment today. It didn’t go well. I’ll be getting some genetic testing done as well as returning to see the doctor again in two weeks. I’m so mentally drained, I just don’t know what to do at this point, so if I disappear off of here for a little while that’s why. I’ll try to return and update you ladies when I know more. As of right now we don’t know much, but the doctor is concerned about baby’s size. She did continue to grow from my 20 week to now, which is a positive, but it seems the doctor thinks there may be a genetic issue or something with the placenta that isn’t visible on the ultrasound. Anyway, that’s kinda all I know for now. They gave me a ton of other information that was very disheartening, but again, we don’t know anything for sure at the moment. I’ll be back when I have something else to share.
