I told MH that if our candidate wins we should get ice cream to celebrate, but if things didn't go my way I planned to say we should get ice cream to feel better. Bottom line, baby wants ice cream.
I cleaned the girls’ bathroom today for the first time innnn...months. Easily two months. Probably more. Kind of embarrassing. And I plan on sitting on my butt the rest of the day because now I’m pooped!
Also I clean so infrequently, like an honest cleaning - more than just wiping off the sink, that DD1 was like “oooh who’s coming over?” Um no one. This is just what people do. 😂
@aisukurimsarang I feel like a zombie refreshing the election updates. I was also pregnant at this time 4 years ago so at least I've been there with the drama. I was planning an election night sip of wine when they called the winner, but at this point that time could be at any time.
@Lexibizzel I was also pregnant for the 2016 election, and now this one. Talk about a roller coaster of emotions for a pregnant woman. I remember crying when I voted then because it was the first time I could ever vote for a woman, and now again - hopefully for the first time a woman will ever be VP! Cue all the tears. I'm normally not an emotional person but both of these ones really hit me right in the hormones!
@juliebird6 I totally teared up last time too! I was pregnant and holding my 16 month old daughter when I voted for a woman for president. What a moment I will never forget. That election didn't end well, but I am pretty excited about this one.
My daughter and I watched Harris' and Biden's speeches, tearing up the whole time. "But while I may be the first woman in this office, I will not be the last!" just got us both. And, this line from Biden... "Let this grim era of demonization in America begin to end here and now!"
We went to an apple orchard near the Maryland/Delaware border yesterday and on the way, I had to stop at a rest stop to pee and it just so happened we stopped at the Biden Welcome Center (dedicated to the Biden family) and that was where I was when the news broke that he won! It was a very timely urge to pee! haha
@bbrahmbhatt, Yes!!! That is it exactly!!! After so much Doom and Gloom and Dystopia and Autocracy... Electing Biden made me feel like a weight was lifted. There's still bad. It's a long road. But, the road is a little less dark and scary now.
I was crying during Kamala's whole speech. It was such a stressful week but I'm thrilled we have a woman VP. My son (nearly 2) will never remember a time before we had a woman, black, Asian-American VP.
I've been MIA for a week, but just wanted to chime in that i cried more in the last week between the election and the speeches. Then I went on scholastic and bought DD a bunch of equality kids book and one that talks about how she can be the president one day and cried more.
Re: FFF 11/6
@BuckeyeNut05 that is actually genius.

Got me like
