Re: TTGP Grad Check-In 11/5

  • How far along are you? 8+6
Upcoming Appointments? 11/12, next Thursday we have another ultrasound and NIPT
Cravings/Symptoms? hmm, craving Oreos this week. The cream somehow just hits the spot. Nauseous still, and completely exhausted all the time. Other than that I could forget I am pregnant.
How are you doing? Rants/Raves/Randoms? Doing okay. Trying to keep PGAL brain far away since the next appointment is still a week out. It seems to be quieting down the further into 1st trimester I get. I can’t believe I start the last 4 weeks of the 1st trimester tomorrow. It seems to have gone fast.
    Questions? NATM

  • @ramzlau I feel like it is going quickly also. I hope your u/s comes quickly too!

How far along are you? 10w 3d
    Upcoming Appointments? 11/16 - can't wait!
Cravings/Symptoms? nausea was bad yesteday, but today coffee smelled good (we have pumpkin spice k-cups at work. So I made myself a small cup. We'll see how this goes. It would feel nice to be able to have a cup in the morning again. It would feel routine and normal.
How are you doing? Rants/Raves/Randoms? Found out there is a positive case of COVID in DS' elementary school. They are doing contact tracing, but we are stuck in limbo until they send out more information. I heard through the grapevine, it is a kindergarten class (DS is in kindergarten) and one of the kids in that class is in DS daycare. I don't know if this is true, but I hate this not knowing while the health department does contact tracing. If I need to be preparing at work for 14 days of quarantine, then I need to know ASAP!

  • @ramzlau mmm, Oreos! I just hit 10 weeks today and it feels crazy to be 1/4 of the way through while the air between appointments feels so darn long.

@DoubleUp8 hope the coffee treats you well today! Im sorry you have a case in DS’s school - that must be nerve wracking to wait to hear back! 🤞for not contact and no quarantine for you!

How far along are you? 10 weeks today!
Upcoming Appointments? 11/12 for first appointment with the midwives and first look at bebe since 7 weeks!
Cravings/Symptoms? I’ve gone to bed with DS at around 8:30 the last few nights, so I guess exhaustion? Still nauseous, but it’s feeling more manageable. My cravings are all over the place right now, I don’t even know anymore.
How are you doing? Rants/Raves/Randoms?I normally don’t work Fridays but have to tune in for a couple meetings today. We have no childcare on Fridays. Wish me luck!
    Questions? NATM
  • How far along are you? 9 weeks today.

Upcoming Appointments? On Monday Nov 9th I have my first U/S and im shitting my pants with nerves and anxiety. I just hope and pray that all is ok in there. I was crying about it last night in the bath just thinking about the appt. I hate PGAL brain.

Cravings/Symptoms? Hmm, I do like sweet things and sugar lately which i dont usually eat alot of and things that are pickled. Like pickled beets, Vinegar, kimchi etc lol

How are you doing? Rants/Raves/Randoms? Im doing ok I guess. Its up and down. Last weekend I felt like crap for 3 days. Im Crazy tired all the time and dealing with crappy symptoms here and there. Im over the first Trimester already 😆 I feel dizzy daily and headaches alot lately which sucks.

    Questions? NATM
  • @DoubleUp8 You give me hope with coffee! I want it to sound good again soon! The Covid limbo is so hard, GL!

@mindyb2019 Hope you start to feel better! And that you can take a deep breath and relax until Monday. It will be here soon.

@halfanewt Good luck with your meetings today!
  • @ramzlau happy to report the pumpkin spice coffee with french vanilla creamer (a lot to make the coffee more mild) did not treat me terribly. Now I did have it on a full stomach, which probably helps, but it made me hopefully, my morning coffee will be back once I get to the end of the first tri!

@halfanewt yes the cravings! Half the time I don't know what I want, nothing sounds good, but I want "something" really badly.  :s

@mindyb2019 I'm sorry you are so stressed about you appointment on Monday. I will be crossing my fingers for you and sending sticky, rainbow baby thoughts!

  • @ramzlau I feel like the first 8 weeks (ok, 4 that you're aware) drag like crazy and then it speeds up. I hear you on PGAL brain, hoping all goes well for you next week!

@DoubleUp8 That sucks about the COVID scare, hopefully you aren't exposed and can avoid quarantine

@halfanewt I'm late to the game, so hopefully everything today went well and you can relax a bit!

@mindyb2019 Sorry you're so stressed, but I totally understand. Will be thinking of you on Monday!

How far along are you? 6w3d

    Upcoming Appointments? Nov 12th...eep

Cravings/Symptoms? A little nausea and tired, but can't really complain. The only thing I want to eat, though, is bread and cheese. Maybe some meat, but mostly cheese.

How are you doing? Hanging in there, still trying to not think too much

Rants/Raves/Randoms? No work until next Wednesday! And we leave for a vacation tomorrow!

    Questions? None right now
  • @akoros @DoubleUp8 @ramzlau thanks ladies. I appreciate your thoughts for Monday. FX it all goes well. I kinda want this over with so I can relax a bit.
  • Thanks all! We did not get contacted by the health department. It was not DS' teacher. Unfortunately, all of the kindergarten teachers do a in person weekly meeting so they all need to quarantine. DS' teacher will be out until November 17 if she shows no symptoms.

Can I just ask WTF they are doing having an in person meeting in the middle of COVID?! My functional area doesn't even meet the 3 of us in a conference room, even though there is one big enough to be in there socially distanced. We have virtual meetings from our offices. Why are the teachers not having virtual team meetings!?! This is the prime example of why they shouldn't be meeting in person. (Rant over)

  • @akoros yay for vacation. Going anywhere? I hope you enjoy your time off work.

@ramzlau mmm Oreos have been tasting good to me too lately. I’ve had some.

@DoubleUp8 I’m glad it wasn’t DS teacher. That sucks she will be out till Nov 17 though. ya I agree. In person meetings probably isn’t the best idea right now during COVID.
  • @mindyb2019 I'll be thinking about you on Monday morning!! Pgal brain is so tough ♥️ Hope you've been able to distract yourself this weekend. So funny about the pickled food- I've been eating a jar of kosher dill pickle halves per day since Wednesday bc other than bagels with cream cheese, pickles are the only thing that sounds good!!

@DoubleUp8 I'm glad you don't have to quarantine and that DS is ok! I hear ya about the face to face meetings. My school district is not requiring any face to face meetings but there are groups of same-level teachers that are getting together everyday and virtually teaching for school together in the same rooms. I think they're nuts!

@ramzlau mmm oreos... Glad you are feeling well! So crazy that you only have 4 weeks left of first tri!!

@halfanewt hope your Friday meetings went well!! Sounds like a lot of us have appts this week!

@akoros yay for time off work! I hope you're having a good vacation and it's a good distraction for you.
  • Hi guys! A bit late to this thread- it's been a crazy week!

How far along are you? 6+4
Upcoming Appointments? Wednesday for us and bw
Cravings/Symptoms? Naseous and exhausted. Taking a daily nap lol. Ginger ale is helping, and my cravings are pickles and bagels with plain cream cheese. Chocolate/sweets sound disgusting which has been great this week with all the Halloween candy in the house- usually I can't stay away from it.
How are you doing? Rants/Raves/Randoms? Other than the election, this week has been crazy. At work we've been preparing to go back hybrid this Monday, but admin announced Thursday morning that they're keeping us virtual. I feel really disappointed bc I was looking forward to seeing students, but cases are going up again in our area so right call. We also got a new principal on Monday, and despite my previous principal trying to involve him in meetings, etc this year he didn't come to any and has no idea what is happening. We had a virtual staff meeting on Tuesday and all our faces were like 😳 I also had someone reach out to me on 23&me this week- he's showing as a 2nd cousin and was adopted when I was 8. He has no information about his birth parents, and I'm the closest relative that showed up. So the aunt I'm closest with and I have been trying to figure out how to get his information spread throughout the family. He seems very nice. And then with election stuff going on I've been glued to the news.
Questions? Anyone taken antibiotics during first trimester? I have an early abscess forming in my armpit and my Dr prescribed keflex. Said it's ok. Going to call my ob to double check before taking it, but PGAL brain makes me nervous.
  • @_orchid_ yes ginger ale and bagels. I've been having this for breakfast a lot! Sorry your new principal is clueless. I hope you can help this guy on 23 and me figure out who his parents are.

  • @_orchid_ Wow you have a lot going on! Bagels and pickles! I have always wondered about the 23andme, was debating getting this year just as a fun family project. I don’t have experience with antibiotics but my OB has a list of antibiotics on his website that are approved for use during pregnancy, so I know some are very low risk. Good luck with new principal and appointment on Wed!
  • @ramzlau there's usually deals on 23&me kits around prime day/black Friday if you're interested! It was fun to do, confirmed a lot of what I knew already but some of the gene trait information was neat. Thank you for the antibiotic info! I checked with my Dr that prescribed it, my RE nurse, my OB, and the pharmacist that filled it. **TW MC** I took a safe antibiotic prior to one of my unexplained mc so it freaks me out **END TW**

@DoubleUp8 I don't think I'll be able to help him too much- figured out he's on my maternal grandmother's side, which is huge and very fractured. I gave him our great-grandparents names, their 5 children's names (our grandparents), and pointed him in the direction of some obituaries that have more info. Also offered to send him some pictures of pictures of my grandmother and her siblings, and a list of significant family health issues on that side. I am a professional librarian- literally have a master's degree in searching for information- so just trying not to inundate him all at once lol. I fell down a serious rabbit hole searching old obituaries this week, which was a good (but maybe morbid??) distraction
  • @_orchid_ I don't think that sounds morbid at all, but I have a masters in history, so archives and information are my jam!

  • @mindyb2019 Thinking of you this morning. Going to check other threads to see if I missed an update.
  • @ramzlau I have been combing the threads too and then I remembered that she mentioned west coast. I think she is behind EST by 5 hours. So her 11:30 a.m. appointment is 4:30 p.m. EST.  I was getting worried and then I realized the time difference.

  • @DoubleUp8 Makes sense, I remembered she was in Canada, but didn't remember time zone.

@mindyb2019 I saw your update in the ultrasound thread! Yay for a good appointment and everything being good! I was going to post last night about your RH, mine has been all over the place this past month, at one point lower than before HPT. So really try not to read too much into it. But it seems like you got the reassurance you needed today! Hope you can hold onto that peace for awhile now!
  • @ramzlau aww thanks girl. God I feel like I can breathe and that I lost 10 pounds lol I'm sooo releived to hear good news today. Well im glad im not the only one who's had a RH thats been all over the place this month. It's tough not to read into it. Im gonna try and hold onto this peace for awhile. Next milestone is my NIPT. Im terrified for that cause thats when it all went downhill last time. Let's hope that doesn't happen again :(
  • @mindyb2019 so happy for you!!!! So glad you had a great US. FX for NIPT- when are you getting it?
  • @_orchid_ thanks you!! 😘 im so happy to.  ill prob be getting it done in about a week and a half from today. That way ill be 10 and a half weeks like I did last time. So anytime after Nov 20th. I just want to fast forward to that point and get it over with. When is yours?
  • @mindyb2019 and then it's like another week to get it back? Idk if I'll have one- I don't see my regular OB until 11/25. Never had one before, but I'm ama this time so I'm assuming I'll have one. I hope so - I want to find out the sex!
  • @_orchid_ yep it will be exactly 1 week to get the results back after I have the blood draw. Its soo worth it to have the NIPT i find. I wouldn't do a pregnancy without one but thats just my personal choice. Everyone is different. I cant wait to find out the sex too. Soo exciting!
  • @mindyb2019 The NIPT is our next hurdle too. We do ours later this week and then the week wait. I feel like TWW during TTGP is just practice for all the hurry up and waiting we do during pregnancy.
  • @ramzlau the week wait for the NIPT results feels like an eternity. Way worse then the TWW lol makes it look like a piece of cake 😆

@ramzlau Yumm oreos! I’m glad things are going well (and fast) for you, can’t wait to hear how Thursday goes!

@DoubleUp8 Glad you didn’t have to quarantine but agree that is ridiculous for them to be meeting in person right now, so unnecessary.

@halfanewt Glad the nausea seems to be improving. Hope you have a great appointment on Thursday also!

@akoros I am the same with bread right now, give me alllll the carbs! Enjoy your vacay!

@_orchid_ That is a crazy 23 and me story! I had to take Amoxicillin during first tri with my daughter, I got strep throat on our vacay to Hawaii. I was super nervous about it but my OB said it was totally fine, and she is obviously totally fine.

@mindyb2019 So glad you had good news yesterday! Crossing all things for your NIPT!

How far along are you? 7+4
Upcoming Appointments? Had my first ultrasound today and next one is 11/24
Cravings/Symptoms? Fatigue, nausea, sore boobs, anxiety/mood swings
How are you doing? Rants/Raves/Randoms? Sorry I've been so MIA y'all, I have been dealing with terrible anxiety and seasonal affective disorder issues and just feeling blah overall, but I feel a lot better this week with the election over and we got to see and hear the heartbeat today finally so that helped as well! Also I get to start weaning off the supplemental estrogen so I think that will really help, I've had bad anxiety since I started that ages ago.
    Questions? Nope.
    *TTC History*

    Me: 37, MH: 38; Married August 2017

TTC #1 October 2017: BFP on 12/1/2017, DD born 7/24/2018 @ 37+1 after induction due to preeclampsia

TTC #2 January 2020: AMA, dx with DOR in May 2020

    IVF July 2020: 16 eggs retrieved, 14 mature, 12 fertilized, 3 blasts, 2 PGT-A normal

    FET 10/7/20: BFP on 10/12/20!!! (EDD 6/25/21); First beta 10/16/20 (9dpt): 148; Second beta 10/19/20 (12dpt): 621; Third beta 10/26/20 (19dpt): 4732; Fourth (and final!) beta 11/2/20 (26 dpt): 22,000+

  • @legallykate yay I'm glad you had such a great appointment today!! I've been wondering about you all week, but I'm the same way re: anxiety and not posting as much. I hope weaning off the estrogen helps :)
Also the timing of your amoxicillin with your DD is really making my jaw drop: I took amoxicillin in first tri with loss #2 and it was the week before we went to Hawaii bc I had strep!! That is a crazy coincidence!!
  • @_orchid_ That is a super weird coincidence about Hawaii! I think the strep throat thing is fairly common, we normally have good immunity to stuff like that but then in early pregnancy immunity shuts down so our bodies don't reject the fetus. I am pretty sure I caught it on the flight to Maui because I came down with it like 5-6 days later when we jumped to Honolulu, it was our belated honeymoon so being sick sucked but at least I really enjoyed the Maui part!

  • @legallykate Yay for hearing heartbeat and getting to wean off of estrogen. I am counting the days left on my progesterone!
  • @legallykate that does suck, but glad you enjoyed Maui! I was ok by the time we got there, but DS2 started showing symptoms the day before we left home, and the rapid test was negative but the lab culture was positive. He got a rash on the plane ride over (a common strep symptom in little kids) and when we got off the plane we got the call confirming strep from the lab. It was a pain to get medicine for him but he was ok after a day.
  • @mindyb2019 Thank you, it was great! We went down to North Carolina, near Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Was lovely to get out for a few days. Glad to hear that your ultrasound went well!
