Trying to Get Pregnant

Re: Monday B*tchfest 11/2

  • Oh my lord you guys......

My department handles technical questions from customers via email and phone. The emails come in from a group email where we all receive the email and any one of us can answer it.  We have always had the rule that those emails come first before anything sent directly to us. My coworker AGAIN asked this morning if the group emails were the priority and he was told yes, do those first.

So what does he do? Responds only to emails sent directly to him. Like WTF? You were just told not to do this less than 2 hours ago.

DH says this would totally not fly at his company and he would have been let go ages ago. Shit like this recurs so often that I just laugh.

  • @acleverusername I have mentioned it to my boss a number of times and he tells me he has talked to him many times and reiterated the expectations. Coworker is definitely one of those "things improve for a short period of time then go back to their usual ways" type of employees (except for today I guess haha, breaking the protocol immediately). There are some changes happening within our company so I'm hoping I can transition to a different position/role so I don't have to deal with it anymore by having different responsibilities.

My last job was the same with the pulling from the same pool of work and it was the same with me being the faster worker and with an older guy who could be as slow as he wanted. There was definitely unequal treatment with the 2 of us from my boss. He would fall asleep at his desk fairly often (due to a medication he was on), but when another coworker brought that up to my boss, my boss just laughed like it wasn't a big deal. My boss had a higher expectation of me than my sleepy coworker

And I get that some people just work slower, but both my current coworker and the one from the last job, they would drop the ball a few times and there just never seems to be any consequence. I'm certain my current coworker has gotten a number of "below expectation" evaluations from our yearly performance reviews, but things don't change for the better.

    I think I'm done ranting now  :D

  • I forking forgot a fork for my lunch.
This makes me irrationally angry considering it happens every few weeks.
  • @legendairymomma speaking of ruined lunches, I bought one of those pre-made cesear salads from the grocery store once. Except it didn't come with the dressing!! Really unpleasant to eat dry.

  • Mine goes out to all the people who think it’s ok to yell at retail workers when things don’t go exactly their way. News flash, it doesn’t make me want to help you more when you’re rude to me! I wish people could remember that were all human and it’s the middle of a pandemic and everyone is just doing their best to get through it 🙄
  • @inthewoods23 I would lose my mind if I had to work with your coworker lol

@legendairymomma for that exact reason I have a box of plastic forks that I keep in my desk all the time!

@pharmd93 ugh I’m sorry, people are seriously the worst.

Mine: I am a  brand new menstrual cup user (only my second cycle using it). I decided to be brave and wear it to work today. Well thank god I wore a pantyliner because the thing leaked EVERYWHERE!!! Ughhhhhh. CD2 you kill me every damn time.
  • @pharmd93 this would make a better FFFC, but to branch off the yelling at people and not to get too deep into politics, I can't stand how people can be so aggressive towards other's political views. It boggles my mind how some people will literally throw friendships away just because they find out their friend leans towards a different party than them or even just having a different take on a particular topic. We're all freaking human and we can all have our own opinions and it's okay if it differs! So why do people think it's okay to treat others like garbage?? And of course it eventually blows over in the coming weeks/months after elections and you don't hear people again loudly exclaiming their break from family or friends over their views until the next election.

@runningoncookies I'm still fairly new with my cup and have had the issue of leaks too so I've done the pantiliner as an emergency backup. I seem to have a harder time getting the proper seal on the heavier days and do fine in the back half of AF. I do wish I had started wearing one YEARS ago though!

Sorry to see so many rants here today. I guess we are all going through it! I’m also having a hell of a Monday!

    TW: LC (nephew) mentioned

My morning plans got skewered by my grade-school-aged nephew asking to come by to do online school at my house because he didn’t want to go to real school for the first time since this whole thing started (he’s too terrified of the ‘Rona). I said he could come for 2 hours until I had to leave for an appointment. He spent the next two hours doing *anything* besides his schoolwork and I spent my well-planned time not getting anything done except nagging him to follow along with the teacher on his screen. As I’m finally getting ready to leave the house for my appointment and to take him to in-person school, my phone slips out of my hand & shatters, despite the protective case.😩 Cue to the exact moment that I have to take him to school and let’s just say there was a terrifying ‘game’ of hide-and-seek that I didn’t know we were playing, where we couldn’t find the hiding kid for more than 10 minutes. Heart attack status! Game ended, yelling ensued. Dropped him off without a hug or anything. Then I was late for my doctor’s appointment. My nerves have been shot all day! Just got home and had to pour a glass of wine. It’s CD1. 🤷‍♀️
ETA: Mercury is no longer in retrograde come tomorrow, hooray!!!!
