GTKY: How many countries have you been to? What was your favorite?

Ages of other child(ren)? Almost 5 and 2

Any thoughts about this cycle? I bought a new thermometer and I don’t get it until Wednesday so....

Any questions? ....not sure if it will be reliable charting to switch thermometers right around/before ovulation?

Rant/Rave? I dressed my monkeys up as a mummy and a little chicken and they were so cute. We didn’t notice much of a difference for trick or treating at all. A few people had candy chutes which were very cool and my oldest loved it. Every year they have a Halloween “parade” where right before trick or treating the fire department drives down the Main Street in our village and all the kids/families walk behind them in the street. There was easily 2-3x more people than any of the past years (5+) that we’ve participated. That was so nice to have some normalcy considering the year it’s been.

GTKY: How many countries have you been to? What was your favorite? 

We’ve been to 7 or 8. My favorite was Honduras. Technically we didn’t go to the mainland, just an island off but it was just spectacular!! The water and beaches were gorgeous, the food was good, the people were friendly, and we got to hold monkeys!

@paytonpedro we had a lot of people waiting outside his year wearing gloves and masks to hand out candy. But the number of kids definitely didn’t change! Still quite busy. We probably had more kids, actually! It was nice to have some normalcy, I agree!

Ages of other child(ren)? 18 months (I’m not ready to change over to years yet! 🤣)

Any thoughts about this cycle? Not hopeful. I’m just going to go through the motions to get to testing next cycle.

Rant/Rave? Well, thought DD was weaning but she’s asked for milk every night since that one night. We changed up her routine so that she does have to ask now, though, so we can follow her lead rather than the other way around. We also went out trick or treating and it was just so nice to have it be normal a little. We had her walking most of the time so she was exhausted and slept in, even with DST! Pic in spoiler of my little Curious George!

GTKY: How many countries have you been to? What was your favorite?

I’m not big into international travel. Anxiety is too high for that. I went to the Bahamas for a dance cruise in high school and we did some service work at an orphanage in Nassau, so that was really fun. But that’s the only country I’ve been to outside of the US.

@paytonpedro definitely wouldn’t switch right before O, your new thermometer could just read your temps higher for example and then falsely lead you to think you’ve had a temp spike.  Or it could read lower and you could miss O.  I mean this isn’t likely but it could happen so I’d wait until your next cycle if you have one.

Rant/Rave? DS is on day 2 of 5am wake up... 😖 time changes never go over well in our house.  Tbh I was up going pee at 4am and never really got back to sleep so I can’t blame it all on him lol.

GTKY: How many countries have you been to? What was your favorite?  When I was a wee lass I did one of those euro-tours and we hit SO many countries In 30 days.. oof thinking back it was too much! But was so awesome at the same time.  I worked in Geneva for 2 months a few yrs ago so Switzerland definitely holds a special place in my heart, it’s so beautiful.

@chindimples04 yes. A lot of people were outside, even though it was freezing!! She’s absolutely adorable in her little monkey outfit!! My kids were whooped too but did not sleep in 😑

@canucklehead123 totally what I was thinking but wasn’t entirely sure if thermometers worked that way. I know other forms of measurement like scales do that’s why I was curious. My boys have been up early too, DST is never fun for us. Totally jealous of your Euro travels!! It’s on our bucket list and we’re thinking once we’re done having kids and they’re old enough to remember the trip.

Any thoughts about this cycle? I’m really hopeful. I’m shamelessly symptom spotting. 🙈

Rant/Rave? I feel like my milk supply is in jeopardy. I think it’s from my sudden weight loss and anxiety I had a few weeks back. I think I’m about to start eating a bowl of oatmeal twice a day to see if that helps. I’m already drinking 100oz of water. Even though I have changed my diet, I’m not cutting back my calories. I ate an entire plate of enchilada casserole for lunch. I’m not ready for my baby to wean. Maybe in 4 months but not now. It would be the earliest out of all my breast babies. 

GTKY: How many countries have you been to? What was your favorite? I’m so lame, I have only been out of the country once and that was only to the Bahamas. DH won’t even discuss a trip abroad because we don’t leave our kids with anyone and he doesn’t want to pay for everyone to fly. 🙄 Maybe when the kids are grown.

@paytonpedro I would hold off on switching thermometers mid-cycle (unless your old one is broken). Or you could switch and just know the temps you record could be skewed for the cycle. Honduras sounds so fun!

@canucklehead123 time change isn’t going well here. Two days of pre-5am wake ups, ugh. Thankfully they are old enough that I can tell them to stay in their room and entertain themselves. 

@emeraldcity1214 I remember when I was BFing those Body Armor drinks did wonders for my supply!

Any thoughts about this cycle? It’s so early and I am already “symptom spotting”🤪 (I’ll put that in quotes because let’s be serious - there is nothing to spot!!)

Rant/Rave? Day off tomorrow because DS has a professional development day since his school is a polling location for the election. Stressed about how the election is going to go. I just want it to be over - literally and figuratively. 

GTKY: How many countries have you been to? What was your favorite? Ooh, good question! Pre-kids DH and I LOVED cruises. We went to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, and Grand Turk. Grand Cayman was probably my favorite of all the cruise destinations. I’d love to go back there. We went to Barbados for our honeymoon, and I loved it there. Great food, friendly locals, beautiful water, and south enough that it doesn’t really get hit by hurricanes!

Any thoughts about this cycle? Not super hopeful. Couldn’t have sex prior to my positive because I had a sonohystogram done Friday and wasn’t able to have unprotected sex 

Any questions? I’m supposed to have a consult with a surgeon next week to discuss having a hysteroscopy and a lysis of adhesions. They found my left fallopian tube was closed. I have no idea what to expect as far as recovery so I’m anxious about that.

Rant/Rave? Nothing much to complain about here today.

@daisy528 I have heard of people using the body armor drinks. Where do you get them and is there a specific flavor you drink? 

@paytonpedro as long as you start using the new thermometer 6 days before ovulation it should be fine. You need 6 good temps to confirm ovulation. 

@chindimples04 I actually hate when people switch to years before 2. A lot of development happens from year 1 to 2 and a baby who just turned 1 is totally different from an 18 month old. 

@canucklehead123 I struggled to get back to sleep after Lucas woke at 4:30. Then the older 2 woke at 5:30. 🙄

@serendipity_5 I’m sorry you are having to go through so many procedures. Hopefully your recovery will be a breeze.

@emeraldcity1214 my grocery store sells them, as does Target! I l really like the Strawberry Banana flavor. They say the "lyte" version is better because obviously it is less sugar, but I can't stand any diet type drinks so I just drink the regular one.

Any thoughts about this cycle? I’ve been have 25 day cycles so who knows. FF shows my O to be CD 11 which seems crazy but that would give a full 14days of LP

Rant/Rave? My niece is in labor and she’s coming to stay with me for several weeks after she has the baby. DD has been begging for a sibling for years, so it’ll be interesting how she processes what a newborn is actually like.

GTKY: How many countries have you been to? What was your favorite?

Mexico, the Dominican, St Lucia, England, and Egypt. Egypt was definitely the most different culturally so it was very cool. The DR was best beach and the people were so friendly!

@serendipity_5 sorry you have to through all of those procedures, also hoping the recovery will be easy and speedy for you 

re: the early wake-ups... I’m actually not minding the 5am wake up call but honestly the post-daycare MELTDOWNS are so so so hard after a long day of work myself.  And you just can’t reason “listen bud, if you just woke up an hour later you wouldn’t be feeling this horrible at the end of the day”. Lol try telling that to a tantrumming toddler.

@canucklehead123 lol, I literally had to tell my husband and the 4.90 year old this yesterday. Kid was having a meltdown about wanting a sugary snack and Hubs was having a meltdown because of kid. Sat the kid on the floor with goldfish and his blanket and told hubs to stfu so I could make dinner 😂😂

We got our family pictures back today, and I LOVE them! We ended up grabbing a couple new outfits since it snowed the day before, but overall I love the look of them!
