@nbcarlson I have to start telling work too and for some reason I feel so awkward doing it! I really need to tell them cuz I’m showing at this point

edit to say omggggg I can’t with The Bump logging me in on two different email accounts. Seems when I’m on my phone it gets messed up and is way better on the computer. Sorry if this stranger danger is freaking anyone out 😆

  • I felt awkward and almost embarrassed telling my employers that I was expecting and going to need around 10 weeks off. But when my husband tells people or his work they’re always all ‘way to go! Congratulations!’. His family is SO excited, and mine was like ‘really? Another one?’. Cultural and gender differences are real, people!

FTM/STM/STM+: 5th pregnancy but on my way to FTM!

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Team pink!! My husband really wanted a boy but I'm over the moon with a healthy baby and can't wait to meet her ♡♡

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Yesterday it was a jalapeno and my EDD is Cinco de Mayo!

Upcoming appointments: Private u/s on Nov. 5th for some glamour shots we'll use to finally share the good news with family!

How are you feeling?: lots of fatigue, still some intermittent nausea, and headaches but I'm also recovering from COVID which was manageable but still horrible to have. I also get pretty bad heartburn when I first lay down at night.
Hoping for a great ultrasound this Thursday... there's also a tinge of worry that accompanies these appts because of my past experiences but so far everything's been going great this pregnancy! My bff, who just had a baby girl, let me borrow her at-home doppler. I do a quick 30 second listen most days and it's so reassuring to hear that little galloping horse! Can't wait until I can feel baby movements!

Rants/Raves: My husband and I have been disagreeing on nursery creation... currently we own a duplex and live in the bottom half, which is very nice but only a one- bedroom. Our upstairs unit, also nice, is two bedrooms. I want to switch to the upstairs so baby can have her space, but my husband doesn't want to. He's like, "what's the big deal, the baby can just be in our room, and as she gets bigger, we'll 'figure things out'" ....I was really bothered by it all at first, but as I thought more, I quickly got over it. We have a large formal living room directly outside our bedroom that we barely ever use, so I've decided I'll commandeer the back corner that shares a wall with our bedroom and design that into a makeshift nursery. It's not traditional, but I realized it's important for me to have a special space to design and decorate for baby ♡

    Questions: None at this time!

GTKY: What is your favorite hot drink? I love me that first cup of morning coffee with coffee mate creamer but haven't had any since getting pregnant! Maybe in the second trimester...  Lately, I've really been enjoying the Chaga+Hot Chocolate from Daily Harvest. It's so good!

  • @ruby0902 When we had our son we lived in a one bedroom as well! (Well we had him in a two bedroom but moved shortly after) We usually cosleep though so it wasn't a big deal. Both of my kids have their own rooms now but we won't have a nursery for this babe either. It's a tiny bit sad but nothing that I think about until someone brings it up lol.

  • @ruby0902 and @nbcarlson we also have baby in our room usually until they can sit up in their bassinet. Then it’s on to a crib in another room. When we had our first, we were in a one bedroom condo until baby was about 5 months and we moved into a two bedroom. It was great having our room back for alone time together. Now we have a 4 bedroom, but all the rooms are taken. So this little one will have to share with either big brother or big sister, depending on the gender. 9yr old DD is hoping for a boy so she won’t have to share her room 🤣.
