GTKY: If COVID was not a thing, what would you be doing for Halloween?

Any thoughts about this cycle? I’ve been having lots of random, small cramps since O day, so I’m not really sure. I feel like I’m already out.

Rant/Rave? DD and I are doing a milk bath breastfeeding session to mark 18 months of breastfeeding. I didn’t ever think I was going to make it this far, so I’m excited to document this milestone. We also have DDs 18 month appointment tomorrow night. Looking forward to see her growth. 

GTKY: If COVID was not a thing, what would you be doing for Halloween? Well, FFMC, we are still going trick or treating. 🙈 DH and I will wear masks. I figure she’s small enough that she won’t last long anyway, so we’ll go around a couple of blocks and go home to pass out treats.

@chindimples04 such a great idea for the pictures - we have done a terrible job doing photos and I definitely regret not documenting those important milestones better!

Any thoughts about this cycle? Feeling nothing but hopeful.  Although kind of strange, DS was conceived at the end of October 3 years so I keep thinking how weird it would be if it happened again and the kids had the same birthday...then I think, maybe this is just the natural time of year that DH and I make babies... then I think I am crazy and overthink everything 🤪

Any questions? Anybody doing any prep before the clocks go back to prevent weird bedtime/early morning issues? 

Rant/Rave? None we just had a really calm weekend - got our flu shots Friday evening and ds was only a little cranky after but didn’t have any side-effects from the shot all weekend so that was awesome! 

GTKY: If COVID was not a thing, what would you be doing for Halloween?  Our first trick or treating!! Alas we will not be going out - ds doesn’t know any different so I’d rather his first year be “normal”

Any thoughts about this cycle? Feeling optimistic for the time being. I got pregnant really quickly with both of my kids (one CP on the cycle prior to conceiving my oldest and the first cycle trying for my youngest). That factor alone makes my mind wonder what is going on, but I just keep telling myself that I am 4 years older now and things change. So I am just rolling with it for now. 

Any questions? None that I can think of!

Rant/Rave? We have family pictures this upcoming weekend, so I spent my weekend finalizing outfits and such. I think I figured it out, but I am not in love with my DH’s sweater. Thoughts? He will be wearing it with khakis. 

GTKY: If COVID was not a thing, what would you be doing for Halloween? FFMC here too, we are still going. We will all wear masks, and our neighborhood is organizing that all houses will have tables at the end of their driveways with candy. Definitely won’t be the same, but if we don’t go my kids will be bummed. 

@chindimples04 a milk bath session will be so pretty!! 

@canucklehead123 we aren’t doing anything special for DST. We just roll with it, as it’s never that big of an effect on my kids. (Really hope I didn’t just jinx myself LOL)

Ages of other child(ren)? 18, 6, 4, 3, 11 months

Any thoughts about this cycle? My O is a little delayed which is likely due to me encouraging my baby to nurse more. I changed my diet and felt like my milk supply dipped quite a bit. I also had some intense, almost crippling, anxiety a few weeks ago and that may have also affected my supply. Other than that, it looks good.

Rant/Rave? I wish I didn’t need so much gear for all the kids. My van is exploding with jackets and fleece outer layers. Not to mention what all I have stored in my trunk. It’s dipping into the 20’s this week to likely stay and I’m greatful we had a longish warm fall but I’m still not ready for the negative temps this year. 

GTKY: If COVID was not a thing, what would you be doing for Halloween? We don’t celebrate Halloween so we are doing our usual. We got booed by a neighbor and that was awkward. I had to take the goody bag back to their house and say, “thanks but no thanks.” He didn’t seem to pleaser but whatever.

@daisy528 LOL you may have just jinxed yourself!!  Also I just spent a LONG time staring at YH's sweater because I couldn't quite work out the fact that it was actually one sweater - I thought there was a blue cardigan under a brown sweater    Now that I have figured it out, it's cute!!

@canucklehead123 that’s sort of my problem with it! I think it is too blocky almost. I also got this thermal with a tan/sand colored long sleeve to go underneath, so depending how that looks I might go with that instead.

@canucklehead123 I do any special prepping for time change. We just do our normal thing and eventually the time works itself out. I’m a SAHM though so I have the luxury of being able to do that. 

@daisy528 those outfits look great. That sweater for your DH isn’t my favorite but I think it goes well with everything else.

For those of you who breastfed, how did you know your LO was ready to be done? She didn’t ask to nurse today, for the first time in her life. I offered, which she accepted, but only nursed for maybe a minute total. Is this her weaning? I’m not ready. 😭

@chindimples04 I can’t say much from person experience. I weaned my daughter at 1 year - my choice not hers, though she had nursed less and less leading up to it. She might have just had an off day where she wasn’t interested in nursing, but it definitely could be the beginning of weaning.

@chindimples04 yay for making it 18 months!!! That’s how far I made it with my second, and then I weaned him because he kept biting me 😑

@canucklehead123 3 years ago 2 days ago was my bfp with my second and I was pretty hopeful and even showed MH a picture of the test and like like .....😬 3 years ago!! Crazy how quickly time goes! Fx for your 3 year apart bfps!!!

@daisy528 absolutely love the outfits for pictures!! Im odd man out, but I really love the original sweater! But all those outfits are totally my style/vibe.

@emeraldcity1214 hear you on all the stuff kids need  even just going overnight our car is packed for 2! I couldn’t imaging 5! My sister is pregnant with her first and is in shock with everything a baby needs haha.

Any thoughts about this cycle? Not really  I bought a new bbt thermometer yesterday but don’t have prime so it will probably come too late. So I’ll use my old one (which I think is broken) until the new one comes.

Rant/Rave? My house is a perpetual disaster. I do not know how to keep it clean shy of not living here or throwing everything away. My husband and children are tornados and it’s just so hard. Yesterday morning my 2yo dumped the entire new container of guinea pig food in the cage I just cleaned the day prior. 😑 But like why though. 

GTKY: If COVID was not a thing, what would you be doing for Halloween? 

Our Halloween wine tour. So sad we couldn’t. 😞 but other than that, we still want to go trick or treating and we usually stop by my dads after which we’ll still be doing. I’m really close with him and we’ve seen each other through this whole thing. I know I mentioned it yesterday, but really hoping the weather holds up for us. Told MH I’d maybe be interested in bowling if it’s going to be crappy. So we’ll see.

@chindimples04 I weaned because my little kept biting me, but if he wasn’t ready I don’t think he would have let it happen. I went down to just naps and before bed. Then moved to just before bed. Then replaced that with rocking and a song. For us the process only lasted a couple weeks. He was (still is) very difficult and has always had a problem sleeping through the night so I held on to nursing as long as I could, but he was ready. And after him making me bleed, I was ready too.

@chindimples04 i just finished a few weeks ago - I was always too chicken to stop because it was the only time my ds would really calm down and chill out before bed or nap.  But I had said a few weeks ago on here that I thought bf might have been messing with my temps, and then a couple nights after that ds said he didn’t want “boobies” so I took that and ran with it - we haven’t bf’d since.. honestly after 26 months I was so done and I think ds was too.  He only asked for the boob a few times in the week after we stopped and he seemed to understand when I told him “you’re a big boy and big boys don’t need boobies.”  We’re doing a lot of big boy transitions right now (no more sippy cup, potty training, no boob, toying with ditching the sleep sack and moving to a toddler pillow and comforter...okay I’m crying now lol).

@canucklehead123 oh, all those transitions just made me sad for you! Part of me is probably going to go with the “don’t offer, don’t refuse” method right now. I really think breastfeeding is making this TTC journey harder for us. I guess we’ll see. @paytonpedro @emeraldcity1214 no biting right now. Just super lack of interest. She latched for 5 seconds then unlatched and was chatting at my husband. 🤣 Um, okay....

@chindimples04 yes, that is weaning behavior. I was experiencing this a week or so ago with Lucas because my supply dropped due to me changing my diet drastically. I had to revert back some because he was so frustrated trying to get a letdown and then would only nurse for a minute and pop off. He isn’t quite a year yet so I’m definitely not ready for him to wean just yet. I can’t stand the biting. Lucas tried to start nibbling out of boredom yesterday so I blew in his face. 🙄

@paytonpedro I only have 4 living with me. My oldest is 18 and moved out. It’s weird to think that I have an adult child. Even with 4 though, with harsh winters in AK, the gear needed is ridiculous for 1 person. So with 4 LOs it’s insane. I did start buying gender neutral gear this year because it’s too expensive to keep buying new for girl and boys as they grow. So now, everyone gets black shoes, neutral waterproof gloves, neutral rain suits for summer, neutral snowsuits for winter. It just makes the most sense to do it that way. 

Also, cleaning....I feel like an utter failure at times. I have started assigning chores and when it’s time to do them we all do them together in each room. Someone dusts, someone wipes the baseboards, etc. I even have my 6 year old wiping down the main toilet we use daily. That alone feels like a huge help. Then there is laundry. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I feel like I’m drowning in it. Plus I run my dishwasher 2, sometimes 3, times per day. 😳 my husband is too cheap to hire someone to help me twice a month. 😑
