Re: 🍂Week 2 (5/8-5/14) Check-In w/o 10/19

    • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: May 14, 10+3
    • FTM/STM/STM+: FTM
    • Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Team Finding Out! The last 3 generations of women in my fam have had boys first, so I'm guessing boy.
    • Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is the size of: Tootsie Pop top
    • Upcoming appointments: Tomorrow 10/20 - u/s and bloodwork for 2 genetic tests (MaterniT21 and NIPT).
    • How are you feeling?: As exhausted as ever and counting down the days to second tri! Still have a moving target with food aversions but have wanted big salads a few days and tolerating more protein, which feels great.
    • Rants/Raves: Rave - a big pitch is coming my way at work, and I am so excited to work on it. I really can't wait to feel like myself again, and am thankful that the holidays are landing in second tri.
    • Questions: I don't know if this deserves a separate thread, but I'd love to hear from moms about what they registered for that wound up being useless for you, versus the things you can't live without. I know that's a question that's subjective to everyone's needs but very curious!
    • GTKY: Do you live in the same country/state that you grew up in? If so, what do you love about it? If not, what was the most difficult adjustment of moving to the new place? No, I was born in Boston and grew up between Boston/NH/Florida but now live in NYC. I've been in NYC for almost 14 years, and this is the longest I've ever lived in one city/state. Biggest adjustment was everything - New Hampshire and NYC could not be more different, with the exception of that Northeast straightforwardness. I love it here and hope we can figure out how to stay and raise our family here, but there are many things I love about both NH and Florida, too.

    • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: May 8/11+2
    • FTM/STM/STM+: STM
    • Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding Out hopefully around 16 weeks
    • Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is the size of: a bee hummingbird.
    • Upcoming appointments: Had one this morning! Babies are looking good. I think I might have anterior placentas. My OB didn't specifically use that term but said something about how it might be hard to feel them until 20 weeks because of the placentas so I'm just assuming based on that .
    • How are you feeling?: Like a giant pile of garbage. On top of the nausea, today I have a killer headache.
    • Rants/Raves: I don't think I have any today. I guess my rave would be I was just happy to have a good appointment and see the babies again. I've been having a lot of anxiety with not knowing how things were looking so it's nice to have that peace of mind.
    • Questions: None.
    • GTKY: Do you live in the same country/state that you grew up in? If so, what do you love about it? If not, what was the most difficult adjustment of moving to the new place? I don't but I basically live one state over and they're pretty much the same so there wasn't really an adjustment.
    • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: May 10 - 11w1d
    • FTM/STM/STM+: This is our 3rd
    • Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: It's a boy! (so says sneak peek, so there is a margin of error)
    • Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is the size of: A LEGO Man!
    • Upcoming appointments: Wednesday for a doppler appt!
    • How are you feeling?: Started to get a bit more energy back - waves of tired and not feeling amazing and still have quite a few aversions.
    • Rants/Raves: I went through and sorted a bunch of too big/too small clothes and pulled out some fall stuff for the youngest.  I also realized we are sorely lacking in pants for the oldest!
    • Questions: None right now!
    • GTKY: Do you live in the same country/state that you grew up in? If so, what do you love about it? If not, what was the most difficult adjustment of moving to the new place? Born and lived in Texas a majority of my life. I moved away for a hot second because my husband (then boyfriend) was stationed in Arizona.  It was awful and I moved back to Texas after a year and a half and he followed me here!

  • @ec1212 I think the biggest thing was one of those diaper genies.  If you throw poop away in a room, it's gonna stink regardless of what it's in.  We keep a trashcan outside by the back door and just bag up poop diapers and toss them out there.

  • @gusgus14 Did you ask your doc about taking anything else for nausea?

  • @texas_t - I did! She's having me add back in b6 + unisom in addition to the zofran. I've also only been taking the zofran once a day and she said if I want I can take one every 6 hours. Not sure if taking it more often will help since it doesn't really feel like it kicks in/wears off but we'll see.

    Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: May 10, 11 weeks and 1 day.
    FTM/STM/STM+: FTM.
Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out next month.
Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is the size of: A Lime.
Upcoming appointments: Genetics appointment on 10/23. I'm a CF carrier and my husband is getting tested.
How are you feeling?: Just awful. Nausea and vomiting that I think are easing up finally...
Rants/Raves: When people say I shouldn't complain. I want to be honest about my experience!
Questions: Is anyone in between two cultures that advise different things for pregnant women? Like what to eat/not eat etc.
GTKY: Do you live in the same country/state that you grew up in? If so, what do you love about it? If not, what was the most difficult adjustment of moving to the new place? I live in the same place I grew up in after moving around a bit. I like it here! I decided that traveling has its perks but building a community and connecting with people where I live is a lot more fulfilling. I still travel, of course.
    • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 5/9, 11 weeks 1 day
    • FTM/STM/STM+: STM
    • Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: i think they’ll take my blood for the NIPT or cellfreeDNA at my upcoming appointment, and we’ll be finding out. I’m excited For this new experience because we didn’t find out until birth last time!
    • Interesting Baby Fact / Baby is the size of: a lime
    • Upcoming appointments: Friday! Excited to see another ultrasound. We’ve been using our Doppler at home once or twice a week, which lowers my anxiety immensely.
    • How are you feeling?: still exhausted but now having trouble sleeping even when I have the chance. Food aversions and nausea seem to be fading a bit. My left boob is still sore 😂
    • Rants/Raves:  I can start reducing the dosage of my progesterone injections next week which is exciting, because they’ve been really bothering me again lately.
    • Questions: I can’t think of any but to answer @ec1212 , I got a Halo bassinet that I was so excited about and my daughter refused to sleep in it! She had a tongue tie, reflux, and dairy sensitivity which I’m sure was the cause, but it became a laundry basket. I basically didn’t sleep for 6 months and then bedshared 🤷🏻‍♀️ I do hope this baby likes it though!
    • GTKY: Do you live in the same country/state that you grew up in? If so, what do you love about it? If not, what was the most difficult adjustment of moving to the new place? I do live in the same state I grew up in, and I hate how lame it sounds. I wasn’t allowed to leave the state for college and then met my husband in college. Also I work in fashion and there happen to be a lot of big companies here. Luckily I have gotten to travel the world a decent amount for work, and I hope to enjoy travel again someday when the babies are older.
