GTKY: Do you live in the same country/state that you grew up in? If so, what do you love about it? If not, what was the most difficult adjustment of moving to the new place?
GTKY: Do you live in the same country/state that you grew up in? If so, what do you love about it? If not, what was the most difficult adjustment of moving to the new place? I live in a different state, I know this is more based on city than state, but I miss the clean grids of the city of grew up in (no it was not Manhattan, although I did live there for 6 years for college, and beyond.) I've been living here over 5 years, and still need Waze to get places I don't travel to regularly.
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: May 19th, 9 weeks 5 days
FTM/STM/STM+: 4th baby on board! Have a 12 year old, 9 year old and 4 year old.
Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: probably finding out but we aren’t decided yet
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: cherry or a tab on a can of soda lol
Upcoming Appointments: thinking of cancelling my NIPT testing this Wednesday, but otherwise will have my 2nd at 12 weeks
How are you feeling?: I like to think I’m slowly progressing but every day is different. Mostly super nauseous, losing weight like crazy. Tired.
Rants/Raves: rants... for the love of everything holy I would like to not be constipated. And my sense of smell this pregnancy is off the charts crazy, which doesn’t do anything for my nausea. I can’t open my fridge! Raves, we had an offer accepted on a new house last night! Fiancé and I haven’t moved in together yet. We are super excited. I’m sure he’s thrilled to not have me calling him and making him drive the 30 minutes to my place to throw things away in my fridge haha, thank goodness he loves me 😆
Questions:
GTKY: Do you live in the same country/state that you grew up in? If so, what do you love about it? If not, what was the most difficult adjustment of moving to the new place? I do now as of about 10 years ago. I was active in the Air Force though and moved around quite a bit. I’ve lived in Texas, Ohio and Maryland. Grew up in Indiana and now I’m back home in the same city I grew up in. I love “Fishers”. Schools are great, tons of awesome restaurants, entertainment and shopping options. People are nice in Indiana... Hoosier hospitality! I thought everyone in Maryland was super rude haha. No one waves and looks at you weird if you say hi to a random person. Was a culture shock. Sorry if anyone is from Maryland... I did love the scenery and water there!
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 5/16/2021/ 10 wks, 1 day
FTM/STM/STM+: STM
Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Team Finding Out
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: prune
Upcoming appointments: November 3rd I meet with my new OB, also I'm doing the NT scan
How are you feeling?: okay
Rants/Raves: I seem to be turning a corner with this rough first trimester. I had nausea in this pregnancy, but barely any with my daughter. I am feeling better this week.
GTKY: Do you live in the same country/state that you grew up in? If so, what do you love about it? If not, what was the most difficult adjustment of moving to the new place? I have always lived in MD, but have lived in a few different cities in the state.
FTM/STM/STM+: FTM with my 20 week boy in my heart 💙
Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Cherry / Water bottle cap
Upcoming appointments: November 3 is my next high risk OB appointment November 6 is my NT scan / November 9 is my cervical cerclage 😬
How are you feeling?: Not too bad. I think the energy is starting to be better although I had to nap around lunchtime today, but then I was alright. Also nausea is a lot better too, I get a little queasy if it's been too long since I've I've eaten.
Rants/Raves: I started work again today... 18 weeks of leave means just over 1,000 emails to sort... so I did that all day.
GTKY: Do you live in the same country/state that you grew up in? If so, what do you love about it? If not, what was the most difficult adjustment of moving to the new place? Yes! I love that's it's the city and the most diverse and biggest one of our province. I love that you can go most place by foot or public transportation. When we grew up, we never needed lifts from our parents once we were in high school. We also didn't need to drive until our early 20s. (My fiancé got his license at 28 actually 😅) I hope my children can experience the same independence and ease to go to places. I don't see myself ever leaving. Some of our friends started moving out to the suburbs and my fiancé and I are just 🤦♀️, even though we know we'll end up paying 2-3x what they are paying for a house. I like to say that I don't like to cross water to go somewhere (Our city is an island).
Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: finding out...our sneak peek results are supposed to be here tomorrow and I'm excited! I really hope they are correct!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a piece of chocolate
Upcoming appointments: nothing until November
How are you feeling?: Pretty good. Mostly just tired
Rants/Raves: Today has been a day. DS woke up screaming and saying his teeth hurt (he will be two this week) and he had a 99 degree fever, so DH stayed home with him. It went up to 102 so we called the pedi and they wanted us to take him to urgent care for a COVID test. Thankfully everything was negative and he seems to have most of his energy back, but he's starting to feel warm again. I really hate this time of year 😩
Questions: nothing right now
GTKY: Do you live in the same country/state that you grew up in? If so, what do you love about it? If not, what was the most difficult adjustment of moving to the new place? I live in the same state, but opposite side of the state now. I grew up in the country and now live in a small City so it's all very different here than where I grew up. I love northern MI and all of the wineries...the beaches are my favorite!
@brynn_mamaof4 congrats on the new house!! And that is exactly how I was when I was pregnant with DS...I couldn't open the fridge or I would have/puke. I remember crying one day waiting for DH to wake up so he could pack my lunch for work 😩😩
@spartan4life that’s too funny! I’m glad I’m not alone. It instantly sends me running to the toilet to throw up. He just left after cleaning and throwing things out. The amount of things I’ve thrown in my freezer too is hilarious (for fear of it being too far away from trash day and possibly smelling it in my big bin OUTSIDE) 😂🥴🤪
@brynn_mamaof4 Congrats on the house! I'm in MD now, and no offence taken, I agree with you. People were much more friendly in my hometown, but since I lived in NYC in the middle, it wasn't as big a shock as the insanely shaped roads. @spartan4life sick toddlers are so hard. I really hope he feels better soon. Lots of luck!
@mrosek91 oh good! I’m sure not everyone is like that but it definitely seemed like people look at me like an alien if I waved when they drove by, or just smiled and said “hi!” Lol. In retrospect it’s a little humorous. Maryland was so pretty though. I lived in Severna Park right on the Magothy River. I loved that we were so close to Annapolis as well. The one thing I do remember is being frustrated every time I hopped on the interstate... blink and I swear you’ve missed your exit. It’s not a state for people who aren’t from there and need to be able to consult google maps... I never had the time!!! Lol
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: May 17th/10 weeks 1 days
FTM/STM/STM+: STM+
Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out. I go in for my blood draw tomorrow afternoon and we should have the results in 7-9 days.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: strawberry
Upcoming appointments: My next OB appt. is Nov. 2
How are you feeling?: I still am feeling pretty blah all day. I have started taking Unisom and B6 and now I am less gaggy and more sleepy. I think I prefer being sleepy though.
Rants/Raves: I miss pumpkin coffee. Right now the thought of coffee makes me gag. I know this is just a short time without it and my love for coffee will come back eventually.
Questions: I can’t think of any at the moment.
GTKY: Do you live in the same country/state that you grew up in? If so, what do you love about it? If not, what was the most difficult adjustment of moving to the new place? I am still in the same state but it’s still different. I grew up in a much smaller town so the life style is different. I do like having stores closer but I miss the small town living at times.
How are you feeling?: Nauseated all the time, super tired, emotional, sore boobs can take a hike.
Rants/Raves: I've been MIA for the past two weeks or so, just dealing with life. It was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster for our family finding out we were team blue, but now we're all on board and excited. Our poor daughter just sobbed when she found out, it was horrible. Tomorrow's U/S was supposed to be all of us as a family going, but one of our most difficult customers just rescheduled things this week, so now my husband has to work. Not sure if I'll be able to reschedule, but I'm going to feel so guilty if he can't join us.
Questions:
GTKY: Do you live in the same country/state that you grew up in? If so, what do you love about it? If not, what was the most difficult adjustment of moving to the new place? Texas forever, y'all! I wish we got better snow in our area, but my Texas pride runs deep and it'd take an act of God to drag me out of my home state.
