Ages (you and SO): I’m 28 & dh is 31

How many months have you been TTC?: we’re ntnp kinda.

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: praying. I’m so ready and he’s on the fence but was sloppy this cycle.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)
I’ve been a bump member since around 2014/2015. We have a feb16 boy and a july18 boy. I’m so ready for #3, and we were going to ttc back in March but Covid deterred us. Now I’m sooo ready but my husband is still apprehensive. We live in NYS close to buffalo, have 2 dogs and 2 guinea pigs. All boys. ALL BOYS. 😫 lol. But I’m the queen so I guess it’s ok. We really would love to add a little girl to the mix but I feel like I’m destined to be a boy mom for life. I know it’s all nonsense but the Chinese gender chart has been right for us twice now so we’re total believers (lmao I know it’s not accurate and am half kidding). So anyways when he feels ready to try, we’re going to try on pink months just for the heck of it. Totally have a 3rd boy name picked out though.
We’re very outdoorsy and enjoy being outside. I survive on coffee and wine. ☕️🍷
  • Hi @paytonpedro!! I'm also a WNYer!! Welcome!
  • @paytonpedro welcome! Hopefully YH gets on the right side of the fence shortly. What is the Chinese Gender chart? 🤔

How many months have you been TTC?: This is our first time trying

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: PNVs, OPKs and HIO

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.):
I’m a pharmacist and my husband teaches accounting in a community college. We’ve been married for almost 2 years but together for 11. We have one incredibly spoiled dog that we love to take on walks and cuddle with. In my spare time i like spending time with family, reading, cross stitching or just Netflix and chilling.

I’ve been lurking for a while now and debating whether to participate solely because I’ve never really been part of an online community like this. I don’t have any family or friends that are also trying to conceive or have had children recently so I can’t wait to participate here and have that support!

    Hi @paytonpedro!! I'm also a WNYer!! Welcome!
I feel like every community I’m in I find at least one other!! But it’s always weird putting WNY because no one else knows! Lol

@paytonpedro welcome! Hopefully YH gets on the right side of the fence shortly. What is the Chinese Gender chart? 🤔
So you’d have to google it, or look on Pinterest- that’s where I originally found it when I was pregnant with my first- but it goes based off of the mother’s age and month of conception. And then it has alternating etc pink and blue squares guess what the baby will be. Like I said it’s been right 2x for me (and for my sisters only pregnancy) so while I know there is no science to it I’m a believer! Haha. And I use believer loosely. I know it’s probably wrong for as many women as it’s right for!

edit to add- yes. Super hoping he gets on the same page soon. My ovaries are aching waiting. But like I said, he was a little sloppy with pulling out this month and didn’t until cd10, I usually o cd12-16 but didn’t track (usually do bbt) and I feel like it was sooner. So I’m currently in the tww with all my fingers and toes crossed!!

****one last thing to my novel here, I noticed when I went to add this edit that it said 1 day, do they limit the editing to 1 day now???
  • Hi all!
I'm a TTGP OG from back in 2011-12. (The fisting era ) I've actually been a member since 08 or so. I was the mod for N13 BMB. I did do a name a change. I was Gardennymph. Its weird to be back.

Ages (you and SO): 36 and DH is 39

How many months have you been TTC?: We are just starting after 2 losses in the last year.

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: We have a unique situation. I actually had my tubes tied after #2, but I've had 2 losses in the last year. One of my tubes has recanalized. After this last one, DH and I realized we really wanted a third. So, we're just going to go for it. If I'm not pregnant within 6 months we are going to move forward with either reversal surgery on the non open tube or IVF.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) We have 2 kids now. A boy, 11, and a girl almost 7. Im still pretty close to my N13 ladies. 2 cats and 2 dogs. Im a middle school art teacher and its the best job in the world, even in the Covid era.

  • Ages (you and SO): hey! I'm 32, DH is 33

How many months have you been TTC?: TW: Off and on since June of 2019. I got pregnant in July of 2019 and then had a MC followed by some medical issues and ultimately was diagnosed with a form of epilepsy and was basically given the thumbs up to start TTC earlier this year. We've been NTNP since probably Aprilish but really TTC since June

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: I just track my cycle. I have a pretty predictable one so I don't temp or anything.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) We have an A17 daughter who is amazing, in still pretty tight with the A17 group and have met several of them IRL. My husband and I have been married for 5 years and we run a coffee roastery. We have a 10 month old yellow lab named Goose... We're home bodies but we enjoy beer and wine, foraging, making delicious food... And probably a lot more that I can't think of right now!

Can't wait to get to know you ladies! I've tried to pop back on where a couple times in the last year or so but haven't stuck with it. I'm going to try harder this time!
  • @peytonpedro Welcome! I’m very amused by your Chinese gender predictor beliefs. I guess we will see you on alternating months haha

@pharmd93 Welcome! Nice to see someone else in healthcare. I’m an internist. We have many teachers here but it’s nice to have someone else in a similar field. Are you in more retail side or clinical pharmacist? I also lurked for a while before I joined, but it really has been so helpful to have people to talk to about these things.

@artistlife Please elaborate on “the fisting era!” This is a new one for me!

@SDSwenson Working in coffee roasting and foraging both sound really cool. Do you live near mountains for foraging?
  • @fitzfizz it's a ton of fun! We live on an island in the puget sound of WA. So on the island no mountains, but close by we have some
  • @SDSwenson I was picturing PNW when you mentioned foraging. I adore that area. I was just thinking about a trip we took to Olympic national park and the surrounding area a few years ago and I can’t wait to go back. Basically I’m jealous of your life already haha

  • Thanks for the warm welcome @fitzfizz and others!

Ages (you and SO): both 34

How many months have you been TTC?: Just starting this month.

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: temping/charting, maybe opks, learning.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): We're trying for our first kid. We just recently adopted two cats (our "pandemic kittens," as I call them) that we love... too much lol. I work in communications in the  international development field. I'm into gardening, running (when not injured), travel (when that was a thing), writing/reading, etc.

Weird, embarrassing thing: I used to lurk on the Knot/Nest boards 10+ years ago, back when they were really busy and full of drama and I was many years away from thinking about marriage or kids for myself. I can't really explain why they interested me so much?? I think I was fascinated by reading about people with totally different lives than mine? Anyway, it is funny to actually participate, even though online forums don't seem to be as much of a thing as they used to be.

  • @artistlife Thank you(?) for sharing that thread; I read a few comments and it's truly a gem. Good luck w/ baby #3. Hopefully you don't have to go all the way to IVF. Oh, and welcome!

@SDSwenson Welcome to the community. Your life sounds idyllic! I also live on the West Coast (Bay area) so it's good to have a WC buddy here. Good luck with TTC #2 and I hope your stay here isn't too long.

@hedgehoggin Welcome to the community! What did you name your pandemic kittens? Hopefully your stay here is short but sweet.

  • @hedgehoggin I used to be obsessed with the etiquette forum on the knot! I think I just like rules (which I realize is weird) and that is why I prefer this to any other online community. I started reading it long before I was engaged. I started lurking here almost a year before actually joining, which led to the odd situation where I can’t remember who I actually know and who I just lurked haha
  • @fitzfizz how funny, I loved the etiquette forum and I also have always been a lover of rules! There must be a correlation there. Of course, when I was planning my own wedding, I was forced to break one of that board's cardinal rules (our guests stood during our ceremony, which was a huge no-no there--and still not something I like), and my husband and family could NOT figure out why I was so upset about it. They were like, "literally no one is bothered by this," and I wanted to say, THE ETIQUETTE FORUM WOULD CARE. lol.

@acleverusername thanks for the welcome! Our cats are named Cricket and Kimchi. :)

@hedgehoggin and @fitzfizz YESSSS!!!!  The Etiquette Forum!  So, I've got this 'thing' about invitations.  I know it's passe and no one does it anymore, but I LOVE how invitations can tell you everything based purely upon it's wording.  How you can snub that one cousin by not giving them a plus one, how you can have a kid-free wedding because you actually only invited the adults, how you can know exactly what the dress code is based upon the coloring/time of day/style of wedding.  ALL just by the wording, type of invite, etc. used. So instead of being like "NO, yo biotch-ass GF isn't invited!" you're all just like "Mr. Joe Smith" only.  It's just... fantastically amazing.  But is definitely a woefully unappreciated skill nowadays.  :disappointed:
Legit had a friend a few years ago say "I don't know what to wear to this wedding, cause I haven't been to many weddings in general but this friend is super chill..."  And I was like "LET ME SEE THE INVITATION!!!!"

  • @capnjackharkness YES I love all that about invitations. My husband thought I was insane for how much I analyzed the exact style/wording that would communicate the formality of the wedding (it was at a kind of quirky  museum but also a downtown, later evening, upscale cocktail party situation--a fun invitation challenge!) and that I set a firm "either we invite everyone's kids, or no one's kids" rule. Of course everyone still asked me what to wear.  :D
    Age 34 | TTC #1
  • @hedgehoggin YES!  Ugh, I planned my parents 25 year wedding anniversary party with my sister.  And since she was younger and wanted to 'help' she got to write out the invitations.  And I'm all like, "It MUST be worded like THIS."  And she kept being like "Why?  Who cares?"  Then she's like "Can I use this pink gel pen?"  I'm like, NO... it needs to be blue or black ink.  She continually asked about various pens/colors, and I'm like, 'NO. It has to be blue or black ink! Just STFU and use a damned blue or black ink pen, why is this so freaking difficult for you?"  I was soooo pissed when it arrived and it was in this like light teal gel pen.  I was like "We freaking talked about this!!!!" And she's like "::shrug:: It's blue?"  *sigh*  I mean, it wasn't a big deal but it definitely grated.  I'm like, And THIS is why I don't let you 'help'...

  • @capnjackharkness and @hedgehoggin I always thought there might be some overlap between people who are into these two boards! And I love wedding invitation etiquette. Now that I have spent (too much) time on that board I side eye some things at weddings so much.
  • @fitzfizz and @hedgehoggin and @capnjackharkness count me in on the loving the etiquette forum and loving rules!!! I always side eye people that can’t manage to address me correctly on their wedding invites and make sure to put my correct name/title on the RSVP I send back to them. It gives me a rush honestly.
  • I've been lurking for a few days, but I'm thinking I'll jump in and join the party.

    Hiiiii. I'm 29, husband is 32.

We're not really trying, but not really not trying. I've been starting to want another, hes kinda "eh, whatev" about it- which is a complete role reversal from the first one.

Been together 11 years, married 1.5. We have an almost 1 year old, 2 dogs, 2 horses, a cat, 9 chickens of our own and just recently had 2 roosters move in I guess. They showed up and haven't left 🤷‍♀️ Live in California, want to move to somewhere cold and rainy. Not a fan of heat. Um, I'm pretty boring and really complainy- I'm working on that though.

@artistlife what in the actual eff... 🤣🤣🤣 that was GOLD.

@SDSwenson I love washington. My mom lives in Everett (I havent been since I was 18 but I've heard it's kinda gotten bad), and I used to love going to visiting her. Well, not her necessarily, but the city 🤣 I want to move back up that way but I think it may be too rainy for MH.
  • @acleverusername thanks for the warm welcome! My SIL lives in SF and I'd love to come visit one of these days!

blg116 welcome! It sounds like if you like cold and rainy, this area would be perfect! Everett in particular is kind of sketchy (so I hear) but I just love Washington in general. We are on a little island outside of Seattle and we rarely visit the city. We love our little pocket of calmness.

  • @artistlife I’m surprised you are back. I was here for the great exodus and I followed everyone to the first 2 places they settled. After the second exodus I was just not invested anymore and the boards were too slow. Not that they are moving here like they were back in the day but at least the BMBs have more than 10 people.
  • @emeraldcity1214 I didn't follow everyone to the other boards. I had a personal crisis and thebump took a backseat. I ended up going back to college and getting my degree to teach art. So, I didn't have time for all of that. I stayed friends with my BMB through FB. TTC is just something I don't feel comfortable sharing IRL. Plus, TB can be a welcome distraction at times. 🤣🤣
